I'm not as familar with the really early games: Is it fair-hard or bad-design-hard?
Usually bad design hard, Except for maybe mega man. Just off the top of my head some games I've played that are way harder than Dark Souls if you're interested in ever trying one: Ys III: Wanderers from Ys The Immortal Silver Surfer Ghosts n Goblins Abadox Ninja Gaiden Castlevania
Usually bad design hard, Except for maybe mega man.
what are you talking about, the only bad design bullshit part of it is the Bed of Chaos, lagstabs from across the room online due to p2p, and dark magic if you fuck up anywhere else, it's on you
Is there a way to fix the NUMEROUS bugs and stuff associated with the PC version? I'm thinking about getting it.
There aren't any bugs though. It's just the default rendering resolution being locked at 1024x720 and the mouse overly sensitive. There was the ambient noise bug, but they fixed that.
what are you talking about, the only bad design bullshit part of it is the Bed of Chaos and the p2p lagstabs you get online sometimes, and dark magic if you fuck up anywhere else, it's on you
I'm talking about NES Games, not Dark Souls. Why is everyone getting so confused about this? I'm not sure how I could make it any clearer.
I don't even know what he just did
you might be being sarcastic, but as soon as he parried he switched to the hornet ring and got that critical damage
I'm talking about NES Games, not Dark Souls. Why is everyone getting so confused about this? I'm not sure how I could make it any clearer.
well maybe if you weren't talking about nes games in the dark souls thread
Is there a bonfire in Royal Woods?
well maybe if you weren't talking about nes games in the dark souls thread
The guy I was quoting was asking about NES games. If someone's too lazy to read that'd be their fault.
you might be being sarcastic, but as soon as he parried he switched to the hornet ring and got that critical damage
He did it so fast I couldn't follow what he was going through the menus for :v:

Oh god, the Artorias boss fight was so much fun.
Artorias is the best boss fight in the game.
Artorias is the best boss fight in the game.
And the award for worst is a tie between Centipede and Pinwheel. But yea, there was just so much atmosphere. Everything about the fight was perfect.
What? Not bed of chaos? :v: Bed of chaos is the worst to me, second is the gaping dragon. It's such a boring fight when you its attack pattern.
Hey, what's the difference between Sunlight and Darkmoon Blade other than the fact you DM increases with covenant level? I know they reach 2.1 adjust, but that seems to be the only difference other than aesthetics and the fact you have to kill that prissy bitch to get one.
What? Not bed of chaos? :v: Bed of chaos is the worst to me, second is the gaping dragon. It's such a boring fight when you its attack pattern.
Bed of chaos only took me 3 times, it wasn't very frustrating.

DMB also does more damage: [t]http://puu.sh/1T6Lm[/t]
Sunlight blade does lightning, darkmoon blade does magic. DMB also does more damage: [t]http://puu.sh/1T6Lm[/t]
SLB should do more damage. It's a lot more thug to have lightning on your weapon than some filthy houdini bullshit.
regardless of how easy or difficult bed of chaos was, you can't deny it was an objectively awful bossfight let's just disregard all of your stats and combat abilities and force you to use a high-stability shield come on they knew the fight was so bad they made your progress stay through death and the lead designer fucking apologized that fight ever happened
Getting summoned is pretty hard, I want to get the Great Lightning Spear but I only have 3 sunlight medals. I know I'll get 3 more in Anor Londo, which means I have to find a way to get 4 more. Welp :v:
Bed of chaos only took me 3 times, it wasn't very frustrating.
That's the thing, you kill a seal, die, kill another seal, die, attempt the jump, die, make the jump and then kill the boss. It's still broken.

Welp :v:
I've been lucky enough to have had 10 by the time I became a Sunbro, but I guess the best you could do is wait near boss areas depending on your level. I was still able to be summoned for Quelaag at level 45-50 or so.

Personally I would have liked to see the arena have a large pit in the middle, and from it rises either a giant demon, torso up (not like Stray demons, a new design) or an undead dragon's head. You would strafe around the center pit, trying to not get pulled down to your death, incinerated, or slammed with a giant arm. There would be a ladder or lift which would be dangerous unless you baited a long attack from the boss and quickly climbed up. Then you could plunge onto the boss' head as he's stuck in the wall where you used to be standing. Bonus points if the giant demon had wings and ram's horns and was stuck at the waist in the pit. [sp]a la Lucifer in the Divine Comedy[/sp]
I'm thinking it plays similar to Ceaseless Discharge but with numerous smaller and faster limbs rather than a few huge ones, can inflict damage to these along with a few points on the main body. Lots of fire and tendrils going everywhere, absolute chaos and very fast paced. Could have it in stages like before where you cut off and kill specific points corresponding to the Daughters of Chaos ending with killing the worm thing after the main body has been somewhat subdued. Appearance it is somewhat similar, fire and the deadwood are part of the chaotic and demented life that comes from the bed of chaos. The smaller branches move now, and the big ones are smaller and move in easier patterns to follow. Once it is down to minimal health, the stone cracks open and there's a non-hazardous dark path through to where the worm thing is. Kill that, and you're done.
Should I still be putting down my summon sign at Gaping Dragon SL34? I got two summons in around 40~ minutes, not sure if I should go somewhere else or reload the game or something?

Okay, so after a few rounds of jolly co-operation I can say that its great fun, but most of the people who summon you aren't in it for the jolly co-operation but are just there to stand to the side and watch you solo the boss. :v:
