Pinwheel is only relatively challenging if you're a new player, low-level (so he doesn't die in two hits), and you wait for a moment after starting the fight since you're spooked out by his appearance so he can duplicate himself a couple times.
Or you could just summon Leeroy.
Because those wheel skeletons aren't heat seeking, unlike those arrows the archers fire at you.
Not really, if you take a sprint there's no way they can hit you.
No, I meant after you reach the top. The guy on the left has a knack for hitting my back.
Never happened to me, he always missed his shots for a reason.
that chamber with all the wheel skeletons before pinwheel is easily my least favorite area in the game. i don't get why everyone complains about anor londo's archers when, clearly, those goddamn wheel skeletons are the worst.
I never really had a problem with the wheel Skeletons. You can dodge them if you're quick enough, and they only do a lot of damage if you're standing still and letting them grind into you.
Finally beat O and S solo SL1, hooray!
It also depends from which way you're going. If you took the ladder where the last necromancer was, you can easily kite them one by one. Anyway the the bosses of the Catacombs aren't very hard at all ( Pinwheel and Nito), but the area is a huge fucking bitch.
Finally beat O and S solo SL1, hooray!
What weapon did you use? I'm about to face O&S on my SL1 playthrough. I just forged a Fire Reinforced Club +5 because I know they're supposed to be weak to fire.
What weapon did you use? I'm about to face O&S on my SL1 playthrough. I just forged a Fire Reinforced Club +5 because I know they're supposed to be weak to fire.
Smalls is weak to fire but biggie is weak to lightning
What weapon did you use? I'm about to face O&S on my SL1 playthrough. Also a pyro +14, I just took Ornstein out with pyromancy and killed Super Smough with melee. Took enough tries.
Here's an idea for a challenge run: SL1 pyro, but starting equipment only, only things that can be changed are rings and spells Is this feasible? I want to enjoy difficult PvE one last time before I dive into PvP for good.
wrong mask of the child is better
i was making a joke to this video
you got the mask before ringing the bells? on your first playthrough? this stench, it reeks of guides
you got the mask before ringing the bells? on your first playthrough? this strench, it reeks of guides
its more like "OH GOD OH GOD WHERE THE FUCK IS THE NERCOMANCER" i didnt even look for guides till i got out of the catacombs and notice that i didnt beat pinwheel and got the great scythe after you kill all the necromancers this place is "somewhat" a cake walk....till you reach the wheel skeletons and got your butt shredded
What weapon did you use?
bk sword +3 and jagged ghost blade i rung the first bell and came back from visiting the undead asylum when i got to the catacombs
Or you could just summon Leeroy.
Leeroy is the best and worst summon in the game. I'm pretty sure he does the most damage, even more than Tarkus. He also heals himself and I think he has WoG. ...But then if you walk more than ten feet away from him he gets scared and runs to Pinwheel's boss fog.
leeroy does like half of pinwheel's hp [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] that's not saying much really
leeroy does like half of pinwheel's hp [editline]28th January 2013[/editline] that's not saying much really
well I did half of pinwheel's hp in one hit when I visited him so no [editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
Pinwheel is a joke. The real problem is those wheel skeletons.
I didn't have that much trouble actually, although I haven't met the ones in the Painted World yet. I had a Crest Shield, just lured them one-by-one into the narrow stone tunnel and let them attack my shield, then strafed so they ran into a wall. Even though two or three came at me at once at one point I pretty easily dodged them. I even got surprised by the black knight who drops from there and I backstabbed him twice while dodging wheel skeletons. I don't get the fuss.

If you don't have high poise and get caught off guard they bloody destroy you. That said by the time you encounter them you're probably already used to luring enemies out, or you have enough stamina to handle their attacks, or yo have so much poise you can just walk through and not give a shit.
What does it mean to min/max?

I saw one sitting on top of the hills and thought "these must be the famous wheel skeletons, better take this slowly".
What does it mean to min/max?
just wearing any armor you can so you're getting as much defense and poise as possible, usually without regard for looking good also known as "trying too hard" and "being a faggot"
My first play through not looking anything up I got through the wheel skeletons and killed pinwheel my first try after ringing the first bell. I died a bazillion times trying to kill all the necromancers though. Now I have no idea where the second bell is but I want to find it myself. I like the minimal instruction this game has a lot.
Bro-tip: Read the descriptions on your keys.
just wearing any armor you can so you're getting as much defense and poise as possible, usually without regard for looking good also known as "trying too hard" and "being a faggot"
but max defense is giant armor and max poise is havels and both of those look cool
just wearing any armor you can so you're getting as much defense and poise as possible, usually without regard for looking good also known as "trying too hard" and "being a faggot"
I have never understood why people have so much against min/maxing in this game. Seriously, what the hell is the deal? Is it because "you're not supposed to play it like that" or something? Cause that's total bullshit.
Every RPG has minmaxing, it's just that dying tends to be pretty annoying in this.
holy fuck i dont think i can do the capra demon like every video i see people just roll to the left and go up the stairs but whenever i do that i roll right into the dogs and just get stunlocked, its also fucking annoying that he can take half my health with one swing even with my shield up
