ugh four kings being a pissoff is that dumb stab of theirs supposed to instakill through a shield or what because that's happened three times in a row now [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] also that grab attack, i feel like they get you once and then you turn around and AAAAAAA
Just roll. I've beaten them on starting level with no equipment and starting weapon so I'm sure you can too.
useless advice i'm rolling enough [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] also doesnt answer my question of if that stab hits you multiple times or s/t
useless advice i'm rolling enough [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] also doesnt answer my question of if that stab hits you multiple times or s/t
The stab can hit you multiple times. If the stab hits you once you are not rollng enough. Get right up on them and two hand your weapon. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] So, playing Demon's Souls is pretty rough. I mean Dark Souls is hard in many ways but Demon's Souls just seems to constantly dick you over.
at least demon's souls has level design that doesn't make you vomit
at least demon's souls has level design that doesn't make you vomit
IMO Demon's Souls is worse than Dark Souls in level design. In Demon's Souls you're presented with five worlds but there's no indication on how hard an area is, how powerful you have to be going in, how far you can go before you have to leave and go into a different level. In Dark Souls a new player can go to the Undead Burg or they can die, you're constantly progressing even if you're not entirely sure where to go. Demon's Souls has shit keys too. Levels where it's just collecting keys and none of them give you any information. "The Wardens key opens a special corrido" I don't know where the fuck that is. It's still a good game, it just seems like From wanted the players to suffer for their progress.
hahaha i was invading in anor londo and i spawn in the dark version of it the host is nowhere to be seen so i search for a while before he summons a phantom near biggy and smalls. i run over there and a blue spirit invades and spawns literally inbetween them he runs back so that their backs are facing me and then i run over there with my dark hand and buttmangle the host while he was busy shooting arrows at the blue man the summons freaks out and starts slashing me while im in the animation for it and the blue man starts casting pursuers and then everything goes to shit for them, i finish making out with the host and then pursuers hit them both for about 870 damage, then i mash r1 to distract the summon and then the host gets killed by the blue man "You were indicted" and then i laughed
Its a rare drop (as is all black knight equipment)
I've played through the beginning section a bunch of times and it has dropped on every single character
I never got it on any character I was thinking of having as some sort of tank, but the one time I think "I'm gonna make a sneakystealthyagile ninja", I find it.
praise the sun i finally beat that bitch nigga capra demon [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] holy shit my uchigatana was running low on durability so i switched to the black knight sword (got on 1st kill c:) and i was facing the giant rat in the depths and did a plunge attack for 1062 damage 1 shotting him lol [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] using this bks makes me regret going dex sort of
Repostan for new page. Also Pinwheel is dumb.
Use whatever you want, the Dragonslayer spear appears to do less damage but it scales with your stats while the lightning spear doesn't, it also has a ranged attack. Pinwheel is also crazy easy.
so i drop down on the first axe swinging ledge in the place where the gate opens after you ring the bell to drop attack the demon, i end up killing him but sweet jesus ive counted 4 more trying to get out of this sludge, did not expect this :v:
So I've died countless of times to Havel the Rock, and this time I finally got really close to beating him but had to retreat since he was getting fiddly and my health was low. He followed me out on the staircase, fell down through the broken side gap and died. His loot got stuck on a cliff impossible to get to. I won't be able to retrieve his ring, will I?
quit and rejoin
So yesterday I decided to man the fuck up, face my fears, and dive headfirst into Blighttown. Fast foward to where I am now, it turns out the only thing I'm actually afriad of is its awful framerate and that I can't see shit even with the brightness all the way up. Anyways, yay me.
Screen shot of this "impossible" cliff, and you managed to only get hit by the shocks of his attacks? Nice.
Actually, yes, several times. Guess I've been lucky? :v: And the cliff in question is this one, next to the first Black Knight encounter in Undead Burg (next to the ruined walkway); [THUMB]http://puu.sh/1UT68[/THUMB]
The game hates you. And if you tried to take on Havel with a target shield, then you hate yourself as well.
The game hates you. And if you tried to take on Havel with a target shield, then you hate yourself as well.
Just started out (and as a thief at that), haven't got anything that much better. I accidentally ran into him after I had used the Master Key and thought I could take him on, even if in quite an early level. Suppose it's better not to do that. Guess it's one of many life lessons to come that is to be learned from playing Dark Souls.

"Hey Dark Souls, I'm gonna invade people today." "NO, TIME FOR HELPING." [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/sWa0FgK.jpg[/img_thumb] Then the host died by running into Super Ornstein's buttslam attack twice. v:v:v
I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but it's fucking hilarious.
Can anyone recommend me a build that uses that great hammer you get from beating the asylum demon when you first meet him? [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] NVM the black knight sword i got is a billion times better and i love swords.
Just lost a levels worth of souls in the Dukes Archives because I still keep being careless even though I should know the game WILL punish me for it. Also waited for an invader to find me while cloaked. He figured out what was me pretty quick though, might have seen that kind of thing before. And then he completely wiped the floor with me. But I had fun, didn't indict him. [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] With fun I mean I sat still in a corner giggling like a little schoolgirl while we were playing hide-and-seek.

[editline]30th January 2013[/editline] NVM the black knight sword i got is a billion times better and i love swords.
The demon's great hammer is horrible anyway. It's just a heavier great club that requires more strength and does less damage.
my goal with that naked dude is to use nothing but the demon's great hammer and wear only the xanthous crown, striking fear and dread into the souls of invaders wherever I go
I just got the game and played it a bit. I have no words but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
I just got the game and played it a bit. I have no words but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
Don't let the hype intimidate you or go in thinking the game is super hard. All you need is to be patient and careful.
Don't let the hype intimidate you or go in thinking the game is super hard. All you need is to be patient and careful.
Man I got into dwarf fortress and cataclysm rl, this game is super easy. But the "hit the needed button in needed time" is what I hate. Not sure if I am enjoying the game so far. Especially with the super ugly console port. I had some fun tho when at start something went wrong and I had no hud or menus. I thought it was supposed to be like that so I had to try 13 fucking times to kill the first fuckign swordsman with my sword hilt. After I got past him I saw 3 more and an armored dude and I thought that this just can't be that unfair. Then I fixed my menus, got a schimitar and thought:"What a damn easy game" I should try to beat the game with the sword hilt once [editline]30th January 2013[/editline] Also I dislike how there is no tutorial and I have no idea what humanity and kindling bonfire do. What's the difference between being hollowed and not? In fact the game looks just not well made and tries to hide it behind "hey that's intentional, we just don't lead you by the hand"
