I just tried it, worked for me. Save didn't corrupt or anything.

Thanks, but I can't seem to figure how to even get the cheat engine working, it appears to be just a .ct file, I don't even know what that is or what to do with it.
I probably don't even have the right Cheat Engine, because like I said, google is being useless and vague.
Just Google Cheat Engine and download that.

tfw i have witch kelogg down to 1/4 hp avoiding all of her attacks the whole fight and then i get hit once and its a one shot kill

Don't feel too bad.
I made it all the way to her on my no shield/no death playthrough and was doing quite well against her.
I ended up back-stepping into some of her lava which insta-killed me.
Anyone having a similar dlc issue?
i bought the dark souls dlc, and it subtracted the 1200 from my balance, but it wouldn't download

Not 100% percent sure (I'm a PC player) but I think everyone has the content already since it has to show up for invaders/invadees. Just try doing what triggers the DLC content.

It does still download a few kilobytes to unlock it though.

Yes, they should do that with every game that doesn't massively benefit from mouse & keyboard controls (FPS, RTS)
