I think I'm gonna go buy demons souls later. And I refuse to read a guide...I know the mechanics, but it'll be fun to awkwardly cobble a build together when I don't know the stats system.
I think the useless stat in Demon's Souls is Luck, I never touched it

I don't know all the possible ones, but a fire hand axe and lightning reinforced club are your best bet for SL1. Assuming you don't mean DeS.

Had I just a interesting PvP encounter recently.
Someone decided to be a dickbag and invade me on the on of the catwalks of Sen's Fortress, knocks me off the ledge but then fell down after a second later.
I die, he dies a second after; I get the message 'Dark Spirit _____ was vanquished', only I never got anything.
you don't get anything unless you loot their spirit remnants i think

I then realize I killed Andre (whom I gave the Large ember to) to get the Crest of Artorias. What a fool I am.

It stops you from getting invaded, you could still invade/put a red sign down.

It's usually not a good idea to kill NPC's, especially the Blacksmith's.

Hand axe, club, reinforced club, battle axe, pickaxe, mace, morning star, cestus, dark hand, dagger, ghost blade, jagged ghost blade, light crossbow, and pyromancy obviously. :v:
And the blacksmith giant hammer, which apparently turns it into easy mode.

you can 2h the giant blacksmith hammer, does the highest possible damage at sl1.
other than that your option are kind of limited. you don't have a lot of strength to hold medium/heavy weapons and you don't have the dex to wield most of the smaller, dex weapons
which means you're left with smaller, fast weapons usually. so yeah, your choices are limited.

I always let lautrec do his thing, it works out better for everyone. you get more cool stuff and a pretty cool invasion the like of which you don't see online
So uh, I just did a thing.
While I was in the depths, I just got off of the bonfire, preparing to go towards the boss when I get invaded.
So I back into the room with the bonfire, and close the door, and prepare myself to attack anything to walk through the door.
And then I start thinking. And I toss 99 prism stones in the long hallway, equip nothing but the Bloated Sorcerer head, traveler boots, darkwood grain ring and the channelers trident, and start dancing through the now disco-lit hallway, backflipping when I reach the door.
And then I put a bloated sorcerer head, black knight sword and soul of Gwyn by the door, and start sending the invader hints on how to find me and rewards for doing so.
And once 10 minutes or so pass, I start tossing 'Hello', 'Help me' and 'Very Good' carvings around.
I had a lot of fun waiting to get killed.
i wonder if the sl~45 guys that are summoning me to fight o+s are suspicious that i'm hilariously powerful for this level
