Well, I've already done a fair amount of dying, but it's pretty fun I guess. Bit of a difficulty curve to the game.
Dark Souls has kind of a difficulty plateau to it. The beginning through the Undead Parish is very hard for new players, but once they get the mechanics down it sort of middles out and stays consistently difficult. By the end of the game, however, players are usually trained on the way the game works as well as having more powerful characters, so by the time they reach the Tomb of Giants and the Demon Ruins and so on things start to get inevitably easier. Demon's Souls, on the other hand, had some kind of silly difficulty mountain range that zig-zagged all over the damn place.
It throws me back to when games were actually a challenge to beat, and not because the AI could snipe you from a mile away with inhuman reflexes (ahem CoD) Plus, it's a very pretty game, and the lackluster intro made me real interested in the clearly unique world.
Tomb of the Giants is endgame? Shit.
It depends on when you do it now that I think about it. There are really four spots that could technically be endgame stuff because you can do them in any order.

Man, this character has been my favorite playthrough so far. Got the gravelord sword before level 10, wrecked everything up to Quelaag or so (killed Taurus in 2 hits, one of them plunging), armored up withe boar helm, joined Darkwraiths for the first time. Actually, every playthrough has been my favorite pretty much. Every time I try a new playstyle I benefit from previous playthrough knowledge. Fuck I love Dark Souls. Also Gravelord Sword may be the most underrated weapon in the game.
Also Gravelord Sword may be the most underrated weapon in the game.
You keep saying that, and I'll continue to invade people at the Undead Church who use it.
Also Gravelord Sword may be the most underrated weapon in the game.
Nah. I've actually seen people use it and have used it myself. I've never seen someone else use the cresent axe/warpick/pickaxe.
i see people using the pickaxe sometime lots of crescent axes, never a warpick though with due reason, the warpick / pickaxe suck
Anyone have any tips on beating Calvin & Hobbes with a character that has high Faith and not much else?
What's your strength and dex?
What's your strength and dex?
13 Strength 20 Dex :l
Put one point into strength and you can use the uchigatana. Get it up to level 10 and it'll make that fight much easier.
Put one point into strength and you can use the uchigatana. Get it up to level 10 and it'll make that fight much easier.
Alright, I'll give it a shot. Thanks. Edit: Of course, I just used all of my large titanite shards, haha.
You can farm the jello monsters in the depths for large titanite shards. With 10 humanity and the gold serpant ring you'll get about 9 shards in less than 20 minutes.
Elemental weapons are great for low str/dex builds. Fire Claymore or Fire Balder SS would be great weapons. Ricards would be gre- no, boss wrecking with Sunlight blade. It can easily oneshot a 4king.

Super useful for farming. Just rest at the Great Hollow bonfire.
He said the depths so I think he means the things that drop off the ceiling

I like helping people via summon sign so much that I kind of want to make a Solaire build. I don't really want to kill the dude though.
I made a Lautrec build once. Then I realized shotels do absolute shit for damage.
the shotels are dope as shit, don't talk shit about them or i will cut through your block and tear you a new one ~~~~~
I made a Lautrec build once. Then I realized shotels do absolute shit for damage.
Yeah but his armor is too fucking cool. Also I can't help but feel that somehow Lautrec was a good guy just ~misunderstood~ like some kind of anti-hero. Seriously he is a sunbro after all, tips you off about Petrus, despises Patches, and seems to be obsessed with humanity like all true fireseekers. As far as [sp]killing the firekeeper[/sp] goes she wanted to die anyway and maybe he was doing her a service or something. Or maybe he's just an asshole
So I thought I was going to be able to get all the Lord souls in finally, but I realized I must be missing one. I guess it's the one in the Abyss, which is probably going to suck since I hate that place. I have Seath's, the Bed of Chaos and now Gravelord Nito.
gwyn has 3 dukes seath - duke of books havel - duke of rocks nito - THE DUKE OF SPOOK

I love this game. I'm not particularly good at it, though I managed to reach the Hydra on my friend's Xbox. And when Dark Souls PTD got out on Steam I bought it right away. I'm now at Darkroot Garden. I'd say I'm actually managing pretty well; although whenever I get invaded by another player, it's pretty much a certain death.
Ugh, Artorias is always a wall on a dex build. Not being able to interrupt that buff as easily is such a pain.
Ugh, Artorias is always a wall on a dex build. Not being able to interrupt that buff as easily is such a pain.
Oh god, the dodging I had to do on my dex build to even stay alive during that fight...I didn't even try to hit him when he was buffed, too much risk of screwing up and getting oneshotted. Interested to see how I fare on my tanky gravelord sword build.
