I got it my second try B)
Wow, that's some dedication.
It only takes about 3 or 4 minutes to get to the knight who has it. It's just a really rare drop.

It drops like every time for me. Assuming you're on pc, just cheat engine it.
Just popped in Demon's Souls for the first time in forever. I guess I really didn't realize how different the gameplay was.
Finally got it. Time to see how much this fucks up the taurus demon.

Not much, because BK Halberd is pale in comparison to other weapons.
I know it's shit, it's just fun to use. It also killed the taurus in two hits. Going to upgrade it and see if I can get summoned to kill it in one hit.

Isn't it a good weapon early on?
0 poise pvp is the most skilful and imersive way to play its like no other eperience maybe once or twice you won't die horribly after rolling around for 30 minutes
161 poise for life

What about a 0 poise turtle build, hide behind eagle shield and poke with spear, roll away if threatened.
0 poise is completely fine.
Just don't get hit. High Endurance and a low equip load + DWGR can be very effective if paired with the right weapon.
In my case, a katana.

I decided I was going to go get the Eagle Shield at SL6. God, that was painful.
32 is the poise break for katanas, and anything slower than a katana you really shouldn't be getting hit by.
56 is the poise break for greatswords, so you might want to go there if you fight a lot of greatsword users.
You best be joking nigga, the poisebreak for 2handed katana hits is 31, not 32.
important poise breakpoints below, the /vg/ darksouls community did some experimenting way back, can you guys include this or something similar in the next OP?
For a high faith character, do you guys think an Occult Uchigatana would be good, or should I just go for all out power and go Raw?
Raw is terrible

Pretty sure everyone knows about those poise breaks, seeing as how they've been on both wikis for ages now.

having the breakpoints easily available in the OP would let new players or people looking to make new builds to access it without having to ask constantly.

Eagle shield is the lightest Tower shield and used to be 100% Phys resistant. They nerfed it with the DLC however and it's now at 95% iirc.

that's still pretty amazing
Was thinking of a build where I'm just a big Ole fatty with mega high poise so I can just stroll in and spam the AOE pyromancies.
Never done a pyro build, it's just a tradeout for attunement right? How much does dex matter to cast speed?

You'd probably want to switch out some of that armor for something that gives you a decent physical and either lighting or magic defense.
I would practice parries and backstabs with a build like that, and go for the hornet ring instead of the cloranthy ring.
You have to learn to bait attacks. Usually rolling towards them and attacking once will cause them to try and get a swing in.
[editline]6th December 2012[/editline]
You should really only try to backstab enemies if they are in the middle of casting a spell or trying to WotG spam you.
It also helps to NOT lock onto your enemy if you are trying to roll past them and backstab them. You turn around faster when not locked on than you are locked on.

Dex does play part in casting speed, it continually increases but caps at 45 dex

It's worth noting that these are the poise breaks when the weapon is two-handed. 36 poise can resist a one-handed GS swing. 21 resists katanas, spears, etc.
Dex does play part in casting speed, it continually increases but caps at 45 dex
How much is the increase per level? I've recently started a Int/Dex build and I'm not noticing much of a speed up when they're both at 26. Is that too low to notice, or is it just that negligible?

Not certain tbh, I haven't seen a process of determining how much it levels each level of dex. I'm pretty sure the upgrade in speed is gradual

I think once you hit the cap spells will be almost a full second faster than baseline, so one point isn't going to do much but sticking with it all the way to 45 will make a notable difference.

and you don't get any increase in speed at all until 35 dex. Pyromancies get a huge boost but sorceries get much less.
[editline]6th December 2012[/editline]
additionally, as a general rule all attack-type spells get a boost and all buff-type spells like magic weapon don't. The one exception is wrath of the gods, it doesn't get a boost.
Can you imagine if buffs got a speed boost?
"Shit, I got parried."
