I honestly hope its a sequel and not a prequel. But I guess thats just me dude, I REALLY want to see the aftermath of the first dark souls, and how things turn out in the future.
It looked like Anor Londo was way off in the distance. Then again, could be a different city. If we're in Lordran we're far away from Anor Londo.
It's kind of difficult to tell, considering Anor Londo in the intro to Dark Souls doesn't look anything like the ingame location, and the city in the Dark Souls 2 trailer looks way taller than Anor Londo.
Holy goddamn. If I can't have that game now, I absolutely need that trailer music.

I wouldn't mind it being a direct sequel taking place in Lordran or a completely new land.

I really wish this was being developed for more modern hardware/next gen consoles. Dark souls looks great and all, but imagine a souls game for current gen hardware.
I can tell you that that bridge is literally one to one identical to the bridge to the painted world of Ariamis in the concept art.

Chosen Undead fighting Seath. He/She is commemorated as a hero among humans, and therefore is worn for assurance to warriors and travelers for their long and dangerous journeys. Just like a pendant.
Could be northern undead asylum unsmashed.
That castle/city looks too big to be the undead asylum. Judging by some of the places the guy walks through in the trailer, it definitely holds close to no similarity to places in Lordran. At least places near Anor Londo. So I'm going to go with these options: -Sequel in completely new land -Sequel in other areas of Lordran -Prequel in new land -Prequel in other areas of Lordran While it almost feels like it could be a prequel if you consider Foogoo's theory about Velka, I'm going to put my money on it being a sequel in a completely new land.

I know it's way too early to come to any conclusions, but I really think that you play as the Chosen Undead in Dark souls, and this is all a prequel leading up to Gywn "erasing" your memory, with you inside the Undead Asylum.

Putting my non-existant money on it being a sequel, I mean I have no reason to believe it'd be a prequel really aside from scenery. I mean the trailer just looks like what could be described as the, "Dark age of man". Who the fuck knows maybe you fight the chosen undead (you originally) in dark souls 2, and you're on a mystic quest to wipe the rest of the primordial serpents.
But the dragon has legs on the helmet. The back wing looking things is reflected on the humanoid. Likely not seathe.
Seathe has legs, he just hasn't had any exercise because he's a filthy nerd, so all the crystals he eats go directly to his thighs, making him fat as fuck and shit. And the wings are clearly attached to both of them.
there simply isn't enough information aside from helmet which depicts you fighting seath from the first dark souls.
Wasn't the whole "Chosen Undead" thing meant to be that if you rang the bells you became the chosen undead. I mean you're told outright that you're not the first person to try and you're given no sign that you've been chosen. All you have is the chrest fallen warrior assuming you're taking up the challenge and other assume you're the chosen undead only after you ring the first bell, before then theymost people just seem to be shocked there's another sane person left in Lordran. Though I also question the idea that hollows are insane..
ladies and gentleman I am truly excited for this. [editline]8th December 2012[/editline] Actually I hope this takes place in Astora.. you know how fucking rad that'd be?
I can't stop watching that trailer. It's so good. Can't wait for a higher res version.
There's no WiiU release? God damn, and here I was looking forward to shaking my gamepad to roll and tapping the touch screen to attack.

I'm going to use poison/toxic mist, dung pies, poison arrows, ect. Have a gravelord sword too but I'm gonna try to not use that. Also gonna use the help me carving. :v:
Holy mother fucking shit I can't believe this! I'm so excited :D. I was really getting bored of gaming and then I got Dark Souls when it came out, it rekinkdled my love for the games and quickly rose to my favorite game of all time! Demon's Souls is second of course.
Is that a dragon or a drake? I can't tell. Also- why is everybody saying that place looks like Anor Londo? I mean it kinda looks like it but I wouldn't put my rubles on it.
it's a dragon, it has 4 legs
Also I don't understand why people go "THE DRAGONS ARE EXTINCT" obviously not- since theres one sitting in ashe lake, kalameet (whatever) so on and so forth.

I'm sure gough was sent to mop him up but got caught up in the abyss shit. As for ash lake, he was just hiding.
End of the age of fire? I thought it never ended
It depends on what you choose at the end of the game. If you don't link the fire, you start the age of darkness.
hey sorry to barge in on the dark souls II discussion, but I made it to sen's fortress. I was stuck on the part with the giants throwing giant firebombs, so I decided to go kill the moonlight butterfly. I think the butterfly is a bit too easy
how do you get stuck on the roof? you literally just run up there and kill the giant
