So I tried that build someone mentioned earlier about being a firepot spamming undead soldier. Coupled with my SL1 Dickwraith, it was the funniest thing ever chucking endless firepots at new players. I've gotten pretty good at manual throwing so I was tagging them from distances way beyond the lock on range. At one point, I invaded a guy who was clearly a very high level and all geared up. I was barely scratching him with firepots when another invader showed up and was more evenly matched. Laughed my ass off as I chucked firepots at him while he tried to fight, was made even better when my firepot was the finishing blow. Then I invaded a guy doing the same thing as me and we had a firepot battle. I'm in love.
Another tale from Dargon Depths Invader:
how do you get the numbers and health bar to be so clear
I wish it wasn't so easy to cheat in this game. Now I kinda feel the same way I did when I figured out how to use console commands in Morrowind
Well shit, apparently I failed to [sp]save Solaire[/sp]
YOU MONSTER
That is some sexy armor.
I swear they have an extraordinary ability to come up with sexy and practical armor.
YOU MONSTER
I've never saved Solaire. :v: I'm doing an achievement run now though, on NG+ I'm probably going to save him. [editline]9th December 2012[/editline] Getting Knight's Honor doesn't seem that bad, but getting all the souls for the miracle/pyromancy/sorcery ones is going to be annoying.
How many arrows does it take to get that dragons tail off in Undead Burg? I'm fairly sure I've landed about 50 to 60 arrows (standard) successfully on it, with no avail!

If not it only does 1 damage per shot.
Only about 20. Are you sure you have enough dex to use the bow? The only colour variations I see are when I toggle once to some other screen in red it says "Equip Load: 32.0/52.0" and in blue it says "R Weapon 2: 35" I'm a bit confused.. but if dex matters, I currently have 11 (Using the short bow)

Thanks for the help! I ended up getting the sword but it seems to be having the same problem, it tells me I have insufficient strength, but it will not show me any red numbers.
Thanks for the help! I think you only need like 12 strength to two hand it.

So according to The official name of the trailer is "Of Masks and Dragons", which implies heavily it will be centered around dragonslaying, which in turn heavily implies it's a prequel. And that it borrows even more ideas from Skyrim than just the design of things. IMO, the things in the trailer almost look more like Skyrim than Dark Souls at times. I'll probably still fucking love the game, the music just gets my blood pumping so much even though it doesn't sound that much like Dark and Demon's. Still, hnng

[editline]10th December 2012[/editline]
Because Skyrim invented dragonslaying, right?
And fantasy, don't forget that.
Tell me about the dragons, George!
Another comment on that video, the annotation "defeat the dragons, join us" is a lot more solid evidence that the dragons may be an antagonist, whether early age of fire or after one of the endings. Why not bring that up? [editline]10th December 2012[/editline] With it clearly being set after "undead" became a thing, I'm going with sequel.
Because Skyrim invented dragonslaying, right?
Far from it, but it made it mainstream. I strongly assume that if Skyrim hadn't been put into the picture, Dark Souls II would look very different from how it looks RIGHT NOW. The frozen landscape, the fur on the armor, the fact that the channel they're clearly putting a dragonslaying theme on this more than any other Souls game yet. It all seems very inspired by Skyrim. Heck, as far as I know, the first game that did the whole "SNOWY LANDSCAPES + DRAGONS" was actually Skyrim, so there's something. All other examples I can think of included dragons in other locations as well, but here they're making it look very scandiavian and adding dragons. My point in case; This picture Looks WAY more like a promotional thing for EITHER Game of Thrones or Skyrim. NOT Dark Souls. This looks more like a nord ruin than the catacombs we're used to from Dark Souls All of these are just things I'm noticing as I am rewatching the trailer over and over again. I want it to be Dark Souls, but it reminds me so much more of Skyrim. HECK, even the voice. I sincerely hope they're pulling a Spec Ops: The Line here, advertising as something it kinda isn't

Skyrim came out late 2011, I doubt Dark Souls II started development just a year ago. I don't think they're taking ideas from skyrim, but I could see why people could think they are. [editline]10th December 2012[/editline] also fur on armor makes sense in a snowy environment
Skyrim made dragon slaying mainstream? Basically every successful RPG has had dragons in it somewhere. Even people who think fanasy is stupid think dragons are cool, because dragons are fucking awesome. Hell, some of the oldest European fables involve dragon slaying. We've got dragons on the brain. If anything Skyrim was a mainstream success because it had dragons, not the other way around.

And either way, even if they DID start on Dark Souls II right after the release of Dark Souls 1 (Something I doubt, as the popularity wasn't really charted, the demand wasn't that known yet), just ONE month of development time still could lead to a lot of inspiration from a game that was being heavily promoted (and hyped) at the time. Especially surrounding the whole "Skyrim vs. Dark Souls" bullshit that happened around their releases.

But then again, I never played Dragon Age, so maybe I've just missed out

There are no armors in Dark Souls with fur on them. I just checked them out to make sure. http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Armor There's not any with fur. Combined with the larger amount of snowy regions, how the fuck can you disagree?

Not to mention a huge dragon skeleton as a part of an area would be amazing. The only link here is dragons, and that hardly makes it imitation.
