I didn't get a skyrim vibe at all, your grasping at straws there
Should probably point out that Skyrim's armour doesn't have fur on it, even the leather armours when it would make the most sense, they just go around without sleeves. You can get clothes with fur but clothes are not armour.
The weapons and armor look more practical than TES and the environments look more desolate. Not to mention a huge dragon skeleton as a part of an area would be amazing. The only link here is dragons, and that hardly makes it imitation.
I agree with the weapon and dragon skeleton thingie, but I still think the enviroment looks MORE like Skyrim than Dark Souls. It just doesn't seem like something you'd see in Dark Souls, is what I'm saying
Uh, no? There are no armors in Dark Souls with fur on them. I just checked them out to make sure. http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Armor There's not any with fur. And yes, I know the story had dragons, heck, there were important dragon slayers and all that, I fucking KNOW, I'm just saying they're saying "Come slay dragons with us in Dark Souls II!" pretty much. Combined with the larger amount of snowy regions, how the fuck can you disagree?
Gwyn's armor has fur on it. But what did you expect? Ignore a large part of a the story in a sequel/prequel just so a few people can't relate it to Skyrim? Regardless, this is a fucking prerendered announcement trailer. You know absolutely NOTHING about the gameplay of the game. You cannot tell how many snowy regions there's going to be in the game from that.
??? I can't see any fur, sorry, am I missing something?
Odd, In my game there's a fur lining around the base of the hood. Maybe it's because that image doesn't have the hood equiped.

TIME TO SPECULATE THAT THE NEW MAIN CHARACTER IS GWYN ALL ALONG Either way, I first thought "Dark Souls" when I saw the scene your avatar is. That's when it hit me. Otherwise it was more of a Skyrim vibe over the whole video, except for maybe the masked knights, but even some of the kill animations look like Skyrim there. But yeah, we don't know anything about the gameplay, I know that, but I'm just speculating here either way.

Oh well
Looks like shit to me. lol Seriously though, there's one or two armours with fur. Wow, doesn't mean Skyrim invented fur, dragons, or the cold. Why are you so adamant that Dark Souls 2 is copying Skyrim? From what we've seen theres only tiny, aesthetic similarities.

None of the armor really has that look, except Deadric but only because it looks like it's red hot in places. The DS II example looks way more like it's actually meant to be worn in a cold climate than the simple presence of fur the occasional Skyrim piece has.

Basically, God forbid a series with snowy environments and dragons in it put both of them in a trailer without somebody crying about it being Skyrim.
I don't see where you're getting a "dragonslaying theme" from this trailer just because we see one fly around and the character gets cooked by one in the trailer big fucking deal, we get cooked by a dragon in DS1 too
Basically, God forbid a series with snowy environments and dragons in it put both of them in a trailer without somebody crying about it being Skyrim.
I didn't even say it was a bad thing. I just pointed out how they're going "HEY, LET'S SLAY DRAGONS" and having a trailer with regions that remind me more of Skyrim than DaS and DeS [editline]10th December 2012[/editline]
I don't see where you're getting a "dragonslaying theme" from this trailer just because we see one fly around and the character gets cooked by one in the trailer big fucking deal, we get cooked by a dragon in DS1 too
The annotation
??? I can't see any fur, sorry, am I missing something?
Hey look, it's female Wanderer armour with hood. And there's fur. And it was the image right next to the one you cherry picked on google.
Cooked by a Wyvern, shocked by a drake, cursed by a dragon, then baked by another dragon.
Such is life in Dark Souls.
Uh, no?
it's right below it, hawk-eye
Dark Souls V3: Post pictures of Google images edition
But you know what? I don't even care if it is inspired by Skyrim, I loved that game, I loved Dark Souls as well, and I HOPE AND ASSUME that even if they take a more direct approach, adding more emphasis on the dragons and centering it around dragonslaying, they'll make it work out. I'm just pointing out things I've noticed. But of course, if you guys can think of other snowy RPGs with dragons, be my guest and tell me about them, I just think they're releases are kinda... I dunno. It just feels weird, considering how people compared them (for some fucking reason) way back.

Skyrim was based on dragons. From beginning they started to hype players only with "become dragonslayer320noshout" thing. And what did we get? Dragons are typical mobs that get killed really quickly. My character at skyrim has most daedric sword with fire enchantment and that kills dragons in 3-5 hits, fair enough? So even modding community made them somewhat powerful to make balance. From my perspective dragons should be bosses in video games that should be somewhat treating to the player, not typical mobs you kill with no effort.
But of course, if you guys can think of other snowy RPGs with dragons, be my guest and tell me about them
I'll do you one better. There's a Dragon in the painted world in Dark Souls. Must be Skyrim.
I'll do you one better. There's a Dragon in the painted world in Dark Souls. Must be Skyrim.
That one is a zombieee, unless you're thinking about the half-dragon. Wait a damn second, half dragon in a snowy region and this will most likely be a prequel.. Will we maybe get to know more about Priscilla's past? There's already the bridge that looks a lot like the one in the painted world. Would be interesting if we got to see that area turn out to be a real place, the painting just serving as a portal, not actually being something IN a painting
There isn't a whole lot of snow in the trailer aside from the painted world-esque area, so why is everyone assuming it's a snowy RPG? It looks as diverse as DS in terms of locations.

Contrast those couple shots to the rest of the trailer: forests, rocky areas with red-hot cracks, a giant sewer(or something, looks damp so assuming something like the depths). Just drop it.
Are people really arguing that this is Skyrim Oh my god, my sides
