I was just on some tiny walkway and for some reason my character decided it was a good idea to do a kick...
I still don't know how to reliably kick I just do it sometimes
you have to push forward and the attack button one after the other in sort-of quick succession
you have to push forward and the attack button one after the other in sort-of quick succession
you're a good person
Kicking is a very useful move, not enough people use it. This is especially true in Sen's Fortress.
How do I do co-op with a friend?
Kicking is a very useful move, not enough people use it. This is especially true in Sen's Fortress.
I learned how to do the jump-attacks on my third playthrough. I learned how to properly kick on the PC (after my 3 playthroughs on the PS3). On my first playthrough, I learned to sprint at the TOP of Sen's Funhouse. Those swinging axes were a bitch, then they suddenly became very easy.
How do I do co-op with a friend?
Make sure you are in the same area, one of you puts down a summon sign with the white-sign soapstone. When it shows up in the other's world, you summon the other player. The player doing the summoning has to be human.
So what's the magic like in this game? What are some of the spells (without spoiling to many)?
So what's the magic like in this game? What are some of the spells (without spoiling to many)?
Soul arrow, short cast projectile. Homing soulmasses/homing crystal soulmasses: orbs float around your character and fly at enemies in front of you. Number of orbs is based on intelligence, caps at 5 with 31 int. Some other stuff, mostly high-power ranged stuff.
So what's the magic like in this game? What are some of the spells (without spoiling to many)?
Variations of magic missiles mostly.
So what's the magic like in this game? What are some of the spells (without spoiling to many)?
bolt of magic bigger bolt of magic another bigger bolt of magic biggest bolt of magic et cetera
So what's the magic like in this game? What are some of the spells (without spoiling to many)?
Mostly combat magic missile type stuff. Though there are utility spells that enhance your weapons, protect you from certain kinds of damage, things like that. Magic is great for killing things before they get a chance to hit you.
That sounds slightly complicated.
nah it's real simple
That sounds slightly complicated.
It really isn't though.
How do I get summon sign and how do I become human?
Variations of magic missiles mostly.
Can I use Magic Missile to attack the darkness?
How do I get summon sign and how do I become human?
You need a white soapstone, which you get for talking to Knight Solaire. He can be found just after the second boss fight. You become human by resting at a bonfire and selecting "Reverse Hollowing". It takes up one humanity, which you can gain by using the humanity item. Be warned when human other players can invade you, but it's balanced by the fact you can summon people. I think soul and item drops are also more plentiful too.
this is useful for all you new players
Can I use Magic Missile to attack the darkness?
Yes. But the darkness is literally humanity itself.
Can I use Magic Missile to attack the darkness?
the casting animations are pretty slow depending on the spell the darkness will be chewing on your bones before the second arrow has arrived
A massively high dexterity knocks a second off of the casting IIRC [editline]11th December 2012[/editline] It'd help if you cast mordenkainens faithful watchdog though

I was watching this guy's stream last night http://www.twitch.tv/lirik/new He's a brand new player and he's really, really dumb. He's using a +6 claymore in Sen's Fortress and refuses to backstab, probably because he doesn't quite know how but won't admit it. He tries to backstab from like 6 feet away with his shield up and from an 80 degree angle and goes "Oh come on that was a backstab, that's bullshit." Any time he'd get hit with a boulder he'd say there was nothing he could have done to dodge it. He found Logan and immediately smacked him with his sword and pissed him off. He came back later and got souls speared to death through the cage.
I like how gravelords are so uncommon it is considered a treat to be cursed instead of a huge pain in the ass.
In the 200 hours I've played this game I've never seen a single black phantom.
Gravelords pretty much only ever affect NG+ people, for those who don't know
