Well Artorias can't really use a shield because his left arm is probably just dust inside the armor.
Well Artorias can't really use a shield because his left arm is probably just dust inside the armor.
And as fucking BA as Tower Knight was, he was a pushover of a boss and most enemies in the game have decent shields as is.
I got this game today, along with Dragon's Dogma. It's difficult.
Good buy, both games are great.
Thanks for the help guys. Fibally getting good at parrying, started a new character and breezed through the asylum and taurus demons, managed to get the drake sword as well. Is the knight at the top of the tower worth fighting? Should I just go to undead parish? Anywhere I should use my master key on?

Just avoid him unless you want his greatsword, which is a rare drop. Go ahead and mess up the undead parish.

Head into the parish and make a dash for that gate. You only get one shot at it, and it'll save time if you can get it right. The master key doesn't get a whole lot of use if you follow the path the game expects you to use, and as of right now, there isn't anywhere you can use it.
I heard Dogma was boring as shit outside of boss battles.
The game has some flaws, the world feels a bit lifeless. The combat system is really satisfying though, making even smaller fights rewarding. It's not really that bad.
Edit: Sorry, fp app was not showing page 71 so I thought my post didn't go through.

About to head into the undead parish. Is the tower knight worth fighting? Anywhere I should use ny master key? Oh, and I got the drake sword. Oh gid, so beautiful.
u wot m8 [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/nHrMy.png[/img_thumb]
hanging around Anor Londo, trying to get summoned, can't because people keep failing to invade. Come on dickwraiths, if you're going to stop me from engaging in Jolly Co-operation, at least give me a fight while you're at it.

I picked up the zweihander by running through the graveyard like a little girl. Seems like its not very useful to me though (not yet atleast?)

I never used the drake sword once and I have spent like 250 hours into Dark Souls.
drake sword is a garbage new-player crutch don't use it
He's a new player. Let him learn, we can't spoon feed him all the strategies and good ideas.
I got the Drake Sword, looked at stats, tried it, found I didn't like it because my current weapon did more damage and so I never used it again later I found out I was a smart, smart man
I only used the Drake Sword on my first playthrough since it was stronger than my non-upgraded weapons. Still, it's a weapon that you stop using quite quickly unless you're really dumb.
Was invading Royal Wood using dark bead and homing crystal mass, 5 indictments in a row
Yeah, I like the feel of my mace more than the drake sword, and most enemies are weak enough that 1shotting them vs 2shotting them isnt really a big deal. Plus, dat mace riposte animation.
suggested that my cool artist friend should draw a lautrec thing delivered
Lautrec has a bad case of ~jazz hands~ in panel 2 :v: [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] Also, do you actually use the titanite catch pole? I've never seen anyone use it ever.

So, I see why you guys are against the Drake sword (Plus, I've almost out-grown it already). I'm sticking to my +5 Longsword for now. Also, I summoned a guy because I'd never done it before, and he was killing everything by breathing fire until he got invaded and murdered. Do people just sit around waiting to help noobies? Seemed like he wanted to help me. Also, Tower Knight is an asshole.

Sometimes I think this game determines invasions not by the players ping to one another, but how hilarious the game thinks the fight will be.
Sometimes I think this game determines invasions not by the players ping to one another, but how hilarious the game thinks the fight will be.
I figured as much when I had the big fancy DLC armour, Gravelord sword and for god fuck knows what reason the forest hunter ring sent me to the Undead Parish to beat up some poor guy in the basic Knight gear :v: I didn't even hit him, instead I was trying to point up where there were enemies waiting upstairs but he quit and sent me a message saying "wow invade newbies some more, dickwraith gg" :(
