Like a default. It's clearly not supposed to be displayed yet anyways, could be a temporary default date on it. [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] But really it will probably come out around that time anyways, I'd be very surprised if it was any earlier.
Man, Four Kings, SL1. This isn't even funny anymore.
Man, Four Kings, SL1. This isn't even funny anymore.
Head to Anor Londo, get dat lightning club and havel armor. Poise it out brooooo
You could make fists only playthrough a bit more plausible if you got the dragon head and body stones
You could make fists only playthrough a bit more plausible if you got the dragon head and body stones
That would be far more feasible. I've never actually tried them before, powerful?
That would be far more feasible. I've never actually tried them before, powerful?
Not really without weapons, but at least you could breath fire on the bosses
Invaded a guy in Blighttown and he killed himself, got 800,000 souls. fucks sake Got rid of them and gave myself 10,000 souls for the effort of opening cheat engine Binded a key to god mode as well if I encounter hackers
I just had a great invade. I invaded some guys world and I was taunting the shit out of him and his summon pal trying to get them to attack me. In the process of doing that another guy invades though - a dragon using one of those annoying force spells all over the place. So I turn around and start beating the absolute shit out of him along with the guy I invaded and his sunbro. Then we all cheered together at the end. The guy I invaded gave me a humanity and I jumped off a cliff.
On the subject of a bare fists only playthrough: It depends on whether you let yourself summon or not. I made it almost all the way to Ornstein and Smough using only my bare fists because I summoned someone for every boss up to them save for the Taurus Demon. A bare fists run is absolutely possible but not without help from NPCs or other players. EDIT: Also be prepared to run away and cheese almost everything, because a backstab with bare fists does a whopping 7 damage and a parry can do up to 15 and that's it.

[editline]13th December 2012[/editline] "I did a sl1 BKGA run. I couldn't use the weapon of course but it's totally doable if you summon other players to play the game for you."
That kind of ruins they point now doesn't it.
Sort of, but not really. You have to use your resources to their max potential since you aren't using any form of weaponry yourself, and summons are... y'know, resources.
"I did a sl1 BKGA run. I couldn't use the weapon of course but it's totally doable if you summon other players to play the game for you."
that is not the same thing as summong people for bosses you literally cannot beat without them at all

Oh man, feels good to kill the Stray Demon. I'm supposed to face the boss of the Depths but I already got cursed once after accidentally failing to jump over a chute, so I said fuck it and went back to the Asylum. Was nice to kill my first two Black Knights there, and a pleasant surprise to pick up the Crest Shield from Flaskbro. I ended up stripping off my armor and equipping only a Bandit's Knife for the Stray Demon. I was really happy to learn it does bleed damage on every third hit. Stuck to his belly, got him in a loop of ground-pounding for so long I bled off half of his health, then learned about the safe zone from the side-swipe red wind behind his legs and trounced him. Feels good man. Anyway, I've got a question about upgrading vs. leveling. I hear people say they make sure to reach SL50 before Sen's Fortress and other stuff like that, and then I hear people talk about staying at SL1 and using all their souls to upgrade. I'm SL30 and like I said, about to face the Depths boss. I've got 17 VIT and 15 END. Is this even a consideration, to stop leveling? I think I would like to keep increasing my health and stamina, but I've got a Claymore+4 I want to ascend, and standard Knight Armor I'd like to reinforce. Also that reminds me, should I try to get different armor? I've picked up mad Hollow armor and they all suck in comparison, so I have no idea where I'd find something more protective than the Knight set at my level. P.S. Thanks you guys for being supportive of another new player, I feel like this is a game which can breed elitism very easily. [editline]Edited:[/editline] Oh shoot, it sounds like the Elite Knight set is actually really easy to get. I've already been to Darkroot, might as well.
Got a massive FPS boost when I realized I was running off the wrong graphics card.
Got a massive FPS boost when I realized I was running off the wrong graphics card.
My FPS dropped to barely hitting 35 in the Burg after I started playing the Steam version, before it was 45ish :(
Got a massive FPS boost when I realized I was running off the wrong graphics card.
Haha I did that once except it wasn't the wrong graphics card and I was just trying to play on a toaster. It happens
Wait so if you kill a person then you get all of his souls?
[h=3][/h] "The amount of souls you get is determined by the amount of souls your opponent needs to level up. As an invader, you get 10% of the hosts souls when you kill him/her. As the host, you get 50% of the invaders souls when you kill him/her." also I'm tempted to start using god mode against people that imbue there weapons Almost killed a guy in Sens, while avoiding a black knight and bombs, then he just hits me once with a lightning club and I die
Just bought Dark Souls. I am excited to play and die a lot.
In that case, you're gonna want to fight the Asylum Demon when you first see him!
I will charge into battle at full speed. and die
Just bought Dark Souls. I am excited to play and die a lot.
My reccomendations: Play it blind. If you are stuck ask another player for a vague tip to point you the right way but if you start checking the wiki for stuff you'll never stop. Read every item description and talk to people multiple times. Not only will this provide a lot of guidance but you will learn a lot of the story through it and the lore in this game is my favorite out of any fiction.
Yeah, I was considering something revolving around fist weapons (if not barehanded) and no shield, but I can't work out quite what guidelines I'd like to use.
http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=4846817397802652 [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] I think this needs to be posted again for you fist users:

I'm also going to be out of the country starting tomorrow and I'll have no internet for a week, I'll be playing on my laptop in my spare time.
You could make fists only playthrough a bit more plausible if you got the dragon head and body stones
That's not bad at all, really. Without the dragon roar they do like ~250 or so. The most annoying thing about them is they don't have any sort of combo and their range.
Where do you get more Cracked Red Eye Orbs? I was enjoying doing some PVP earlier, but have run out of the paltry 4 you find in the chest in Firelink Shrine.
Where do you get more Cracked Red Eye Orbs? Neither is quick. [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] In other news, I need more titanite chunks to fuel my lightning reinforced club.
