And if you get stuck on something don't hesitate to ask somebody for help. I have a sunbro at Sl15 just for helping people in the burg/parish.
Okay, for my no shield run I'm currently using a Rapier+14 for parries and an Estoc+14 for normal attacks. If I upgrade the Mail Breaker to +14 will it do more or less damage on a parry than a Rapier? I ask because it's crit boost is 120 but it's damage is only 136. A rapier has a crit bonus of 110 and damage of 175. I ask because I don't know how much an effect the crit boost actually has and I don't want to waste time grinding for titanite chunks.
mail breaker is apparently very bad I've never used it myself but I'd keep the rapier
Oh man, feels good to kill the Stray Demon. I'm supposed to face the boss of the Depths but I already got cursed once after accidentally failing to jump over a chute, so I said fuck it and went back to the Asylum. Was nice to kill my first two Black Knights there, and a pleasant surprise to pick up the Crest Shield from Flaskbro. I ended up stripping off my armor and equipping only a Bandit's Knife for the Stray Demon. I was really happy to learn it does bleed damage on every third hit. Stuck to his belly, got him in a loop of ground-pounding for so long I bled off half of his health, then learned about the safe zone from the side-swipe red wind behind his legs and trounced him. Feels good man. Anyway, I've got a question about upgrading vs. leveling. I hear people say they make sure to reach SL50 before Sen's Fortress and other stuff like that, and then I hear people talk about staying at SL1 and using all their souls to upgrade. I'm SL30 and like I said, about to face the Depths boss. I've got 17 VIT and 15 END. Is this even a consideration, to stop leveling? I think I would like to keep increasing my health and stamina, but I've got a Claymore+4 I want to ascend, and standard Knight Armor I'd like to reinforce. Also that reminds me, should I try to get different armor? I've picked up mad Hollow armor and they all suck in comparison, so I have no idea where I'd find something more protective than the Knight set at my level. P.S. Thanks you guys for being supportive of another new player, I feel like this is a game which can breed elitism very easily. [editline]Edited:[/editline] Oh shoot, it sounds like the Elite Knight set is actually really easy to get. I've already been to Darkroot, might as well.
upgrade both your claymore and your armor, leveling is secondary in comparison to upgrading. also you will have ample time to level in blight town and the boss there is pretty good to coop for souls farming.
Don't forget to use DSfix
where can I get that
Yeah but parrying him makes you a babby, real men don't rely on parrying Gwyn.
I tried parrying him, couldn't get it quite right, so I just ended up two handing my claymore and tearing him apart with it.
where can I get that
>DSfix for PC v 1.9 (TURN OFF IN-GAME AA) http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?tag=dsfix Also I will be around if you need any help, either on steam or in game.
Anyone got any tips to defeat Four Kings as a high dex thief/pyromancy build? Currently using Shadow set with Lightning Uchigatana +3 and Target shield. I'm SL 43
you know that b button the one that lets you roll say hello to your new best friend
Well, obviously. I'm using the the DWG ring but I can't seem to time the roll every time and end up getting raped out of Sunny D on the last king :v:
I'm pretty sure the rapier does the highest backstab and riposte damage in the game.
I thought the Dark Silver Tracer does the most.
Well, obviously. I'm using the the DWG ring
just some advice here unless you're light rolling don't use this if you are, know that you don't roll any faster and only a bit farther, and that you are invulnerable for most of the frames you are rolling (so you can roll straight through magic attacks, etc if you want to and time it right) other than looking cool it's not as useful as it used to be also perhaps use some humanity to heal if you really need it; it's what I use mainly because I PvP more than anything else now and you'll get fully healed anyway. Or kindle, etc. Other than that all I can say is maybe upgrade your weapon a bit more and wipe the floor with them
I'm pretty sure the rapier does the highest backstab and riposte damage in the game.
Suppose I needed help with my SL1 on a hypothetical "cookies and campfire treats" boss. Basically I need a sunbro for my dickwraith-in-training.
I thought the Dark Silver Tracer does the most.
That has the highest crit rating but rapiers have a hidden crit modifier due to their armor piercing and the rapier has a higher base damage that also contributes. After checking the wiki I've confirmed it, the rapier has the best backstab and riposte damage in the game. My schedule limits me to about 6am-3pm eastern when I have work because all they have open around here is night jobs.

Just beat super orns without a shield, I didn't even get hit. The guy I summoned got fucking flattened as soon as he transformed though.
Is there a way to manually save, or does it just auto-save? Just got past the asylum monster green pimple monster, it ate my face the first three times but then the fourth I murdered it. i like this game

Glad you like it.

Whenever you open the menu, whenever you rest at a bonfire, whenever you enter a new area, whenever you quit/disconnect, and it'll save after a few minutes too.
Yeah it saves like every 15 seconds. Every little action causes it to save. On that note, make sure you turn on automatic save backups in the DSfix configuration file so you don't lose your progress if your save gets corrupted.
How do I become beautiful again?
Consume a humanity from your inventory and select "Reverse hollow form" or something like that at a bonfire.
