Ok, now that FP let's me browse correctly I can answer decently.
First off, I meant that I hope this game will be either developed mainly for the PC, or that the PC and console versions are very different.
And yes, I hope the "dumbing down" for the consoles won't affect the PC version (I know it is). Because it will be dumbed down for consoles, if you think otherwise just compare the console specifications to a medium gaming PC and see for yourself.
I know they will make a dumbed down version, I just hope it won't affect the PC version.
Dumbed down usually means game elements made simpler. I'm pretty sure you can have your higher resolution textures and higher FPS without drastically focusing on the PC version.

The problem is that most of the time if it is a console-to-PC port the developers won't even spend an hour on fixing it, they'll just put it on the PC as an un-optimized PoS that doesn't even have customizable controls.
Usually the games on consoles are a bit slowed down and sometimes simplified, mostly because of the "broader" audience on consoles (kids and casual gamers). I'm not saying that everybody who plays consoles is a kid, but you can't deny that many games on consoles are "simplified" to sell more.
But as long as it's not a console-to-PC port I'm fine with it, as then there should be no such problems.
You know, I love this predators happy-face

This man speaks the truth. If you don't believe me, play "The path of Neo" on a PC. HORRIBLY unoptiomized, button combinations that only work on a console, just plain BAD.
Man I really want to see a gameplay video of some sort.
Actually you did see your own species in a couple of the bonus levels, and i explained the scripted aliens in the same line i typed it, they randomly spawn in the singleplayer, in avp2 they're just placed with a trigger and i found that disappointing and nearly half as scary.
"AvP1 hardly had a storyline, it was pretty vague about what was actually going on. AvP2 was a lot more depthy story-wise if you listen to the content of the cutscenes (AvP1 had no cutscenes or dialogue, and you never saw a member of your own species in the game) and read the briefing in the tab screen about what's going on." Actually in both games most is explained in before the game (in avp1 the loading screen, in avp2 the cutscenes with the text at the bottom left) and no, wrong again, there was cutscenes in it but just at the beginning and the end of every classes' campaign.
I know it had a cutscene at the beginning and end of each campaign, but they didn't explain anything at all.
And no, in AvP2 most was not explained before the game started. There was dialogue in the beginning, yes, but you learn more about the background of the storyline when you read the journal entries that are put in the tab screen in every level and the ones you find lying around levels too. There's actually a lot to read.
Lets hope they remake Survival Mode for avp3 :D
They are. From what I read.
God i can't wait i always liked becoming a queen and raping the asses of everybody
My AvP2 doesn't work in multilayer, I choose a server in game spy and the game starts (It works in single player) but when it does version authentication it sai there no connection detected.
Here's the server patch from the LithFAQ forums

^yup
sierra shut down their servers, you'll need the update to play on the lithfaq servers
I used that.
Oh my fault, I didn't see your point about gamespy, don't use it for this. You should just use the AvP2 in-game server search. Gamespy I think adds another layer of complexity, there might be ports you have to open or something. I dunno, I've never used anything for avp2 but the in-game search.
In game search has the same problem... :(
Also does someone has a reg key for the latest patch, when I selects the EXE it only has install button because it thinks its not installed.
I want AVP3... But, I can buy avp2 now! Which one should I get? The normal AVP2, Or the AVP2 GOLD EDITION. I want multiplayer and the GE says nothing about it.
They're both the same price.
Its out on june 1st

there you go.
I hope metacritic isn't lyng.
I think it just hasn't been updated for a while?
I think it just hasn't been updated for a while?
likely. it's already confirmed that it was being pushed back until AVP came out, and that won't be out in a while.
well shit, I leave avp2 for a few weeks and now it's stalling at the loading screens...
nevermind, fixed it. Symantec is calling sres.dll, an avp2 file, a threat, and trying to block it... so now I only play AvP2 without virus protection...

You threw your point out the window when you told us you hadn't used it while also complaining about it.

Isn't the Gold Edition just the normal game with the expansion bundled together?
I don't see why they would remove multiplayer from the better version...
