Requiem: A young man must defeat the hardships of teen life and make his crush notice him. Oh and there are these freaky aliens and some plasma cannon guys too
Pretty much this. Also, wasn't it like an hour long with only two actual fight scenes or something?
Oh boy! Can't wait to slaughter Marines as a Predator! Or as an Alien ;)
Ahaha, yeah. When anyone hears about a new AVP, they don't exactly think "Oh sweet, I can't wait to get SLAUGHTERED as a marine in MULTIPLAYER."
A marine kicking the shit out of others is tons more bad ass than a Predator or an Alien doing so
A marine kicking the shit out of others is tons more bad ass than a Predator or an Alien doing so
Pretty much. To be honest, I preferred the races in this order in the previous games; Alien > Predator > Marine. Although I think I would reverse that order for the singleplayer campaigns.
The problem with the first film was that 1 Alien basically took out all the Predators.
Did it? I forcibly forgot the first AvP film, the second just won't forget itself though :argh:
I hope the single player is actually a challenge unlike most modern games
Going to preorder, will my computer run it? AMD Phenom(tm) 9500 Quad-Core Processor ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 4,00 GB RAM
After playing AvP2 again today, I realized how cheap some of the weapons are. The disk is avoidable with a pounce in the opposite direction, but the sniper requires little or no aim at all. It's too easy to kill Aliens and Predators. As I said earlier, who in their right mind would be camping in a tree/window, and snipe the Aliens/Predators? The game is supposed to be fluid and based on teamwork, but instead, everyone runs off as a sniper and shoots when the Alien or Predator is close enough. From what I saw in the gameplay videos, the sniper rifle is nowhere to be seen. That's how it should always be. The flamethrower is cheap, but you could easily get around it, as long as the said wielder of said weapon isn't camping near an ammo box. The disk is cheap, but the Predator normally uses the dart gun/claws. The Alien is finally brought to power, but the abilities can be abused. The demo that will release will hopefully solve these myths, rumors, etc. and hopefully we can play a game that is balanced, fun, and has great replayability to keep you coming back.
Which is why I played it as the M41A marine and no other weapon and playing wristblades only as the Pedator. I kicked ass, only had slightly trouble with Praetorians and PredAliens, anything else was sure to die at my blades.
Snipers being OP was always the biggest bullshit of AVP2. Haven't seen a Sniper rifle yet, but I hope it's not the same if does rear it's head.
I enjoyed AvP before I'd seen any of the Alien of Predator films. Also I'm pissed. I'm lost on the first level as an Alien in AvP classic. I've killed everyone, destroyed all the turrets but that lift doesn't seem to want to move...
gotta smash the computers and then the pipes in the labs
I thought the first AvP film was an alright film as far as films go, it just didnt have the atmosphere of the alien or predator films, but there were some cool fight scenes. And the alien that took out loads of predators was a bit annoying, should have been more aliens IMO I wonder if we get to play out something of equal bad-assery to the battle on top of the pyramid? (in the flashback thing for those struggling to remember)

They are on the back wall in the corners.
I'm so hyped it hurts.
System reqs for AvP have been released!
Minimum Requirements: Windows 7/ XP/Vista 1 GB System RAM (XP)/ 2 GB System RAM (Vista) 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4/Athlon 64 3000+ or equivalent processor DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 128 MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better, ATI X1600 or better) Recommended Requirements: Windows 7/ XP/Vista Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or equivalent processor 2 GB System RAM DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI HD2900 PRO or better)
And thanks for the help, I've done it now :)
Anyone got mirrors to those gameplay videos? I preordered this on amazon, taking the risk this isn't shit, but it looks really good.
System reqs for AvP have been released! And thanks for the help, I've done it now :)
I may be able to run this decently on the computer... not full specs, but enough to be satisfying maybe? I'll have to try the demo when it comes out...
Pfft, sega and their copyright shit
The visuals remind me of doom3's release, the game will run find on any modern computer, just like doom 3.
Do fucking want this game badly, I can't wait to try out the Alien Mission, let alone multiplayer as either the Predator, or the Alien.

I asked them what they thought about SEGA not including a sniper class, or any class at all (hopefully). Basically, all they did was bitch and moan about how they will have to use some sort of effort to kill an Alien (and one Alien can kill at least one squad before getting taken down based on the movies), and work together instead of going off as a loner.
Just thinking, I was never really sure how that worked. A single alien is a deadly threat. Utterly lethal, but when there's more than one they're just cannon fodder? How does that work?

How does that work?
Well, in the first and third movies all they had in the way of weapons was a little bit of fire. Also, most of them weren't trained in the military and were just maniacs, rapists and killers as opposed to the marines in Aliens.
Just thinking, I was never really sure how that worked. A single alien is a deadly threat. Utterly lethal, but when there's more than one they're just cannon fodder?
