Well got some answers, it looks like Dedicated servers are supported. Which, will let the users increase the cap from 18 to anywhere that their hardware can support. I think matchmaking will just be another way to get into a game, since...Dedicated servers are being supported. Can't wait for someone to get 32-64 player servers up.

I'd rather wait and try the demo before buying just because of Rebellion's track record as of late. I actually can't say I've ever bought a game before trying a demo first, too much of a gamble especially when you're on a shoe string budget.
