Alien Vs Predator 3 (Preview trailer released, half a second of gameplay!!!) - Games

Reasons I think the full game will be good (or hope it will in comparison to this shitty demo) 1. Most interactions with other players so far have been experienced with some level of lag, which is incredibly detramental to the gameplay. It basically ruins a Marine vs Alien standoff if the Alien is lag warping all over the place. Very rarely did another player, even from my own country, not lag around like a bitch in the demo. This is what caused me to believe the gameplay was shit. But on the odd occasion somebody didn't lag when they attacked me (very very rarely) it was actually pretty awesome. 2. The map sucked. Of all the maps they could have chosen. This is just a really bad map. 3. The game mode sucked. Free for all deathmatch defeats the purpose of Aliens vs Predator. I don't want to be a marine shooting another fucking marine, or an alien attacking another fucking alien. It's not true AVP style. All in all, I feel that it was online issue (lag) and really poorly chosen content for a demo that is making the game feel like a steaming pile of shit so far. Fingers crossed. isn't the point of demos to judge the content to verify for yourself if it's worth your money?

Yes it is. They seem to have fucked the demo up badly, but I will still give it a chance. I bet they will save it and make everything better.

Downloading the demo. Somehow a little voice in my head said "consolized" when I pressed download, and by reading some random posts on this page I see the demo might not have been the best of the year. So was that voice right, or is it just technical problems with the demo?

Predator does not rape everything, I have won several rounds and killed many Predators as Marine. Use your head, when you turn your back quickly turn around again, they wait til you turn around so your motion tracker doesn't pick them up then they move on you. If you get into close quarters with a pred, melee it's arse then blast it to hell. It's simple really. Same formula for aliens too.

I tried the demo out, and good god, they really couldn't have made the demo any worse. Waiting times are fucking awful, and not being able to turn of that screaming 12 yo's mic? how fun! I spawned as marine first time, hooking up with another marine, and it was pretty fun at first, until the predator in the server figured out how much fun spamming the 'E' button can be. :downs: Played another round afterwards, this time I spawned as a predator myself. Is it me or do you have no other weapons than your wristblade? I kinda wanted to try 'em all out, but alright. Predator wasn't really any fun either tbh, before I had figured out how to cloak (why is R the button to cloak, instead of F .__.) I was already shotgunned to death twice. Why even bother to actually manually stab people as a pred? I ended up just spamming E walking towards people as well :smug:. Anyways, just a demo, I know. I'm just glad as fuck I haven't preordered it yet. I'll just wait for the full game reviews.

I think their biggest mistake was labelling it demo, whilst having in smaller print 'pre-release code, not a final product'.

Actually now i got it working it's pretty damn fun. Nice balanced gameplay in my opinion, i joined around 5 diferent servers and each time there was a different race dominating. I :love: Predator though :P

I kinda do like how marines still team together. Like, when you first spot another marine you both kinda freeze to see what the other does, and then you just stick together covering eachother's back :v:.

Demo works perfectly on my PC. Nvidia 8800 GTX and fps is constantly 50 - 60. As for Gameplay? Aliens are way too fucking powerful. Sprint and press E. Playing as Marines is intense and little bit scary. Predators is my favorite of all!

I was getting owned by a marine because he spotted me everytime i approached... Aswell, the aliens do catch you off-guard a few times. Have you noticed how loads of diferent people are saying each class is overpowered? It's well balanced is all! You just get a few good players who know how to play as them :)

Grab pulse rifle, point at enemy, press mouse 1, instant win. All the Alien has to do is. Hide on roof, drop down behind Marine, press mouse 1 or 2, instant win. Basically, use your head when you play, I can't stress this enough. Marine can bring tremendous firepower to bear directly infront of him, and has 180 degrees of motion tracking, behind him however it's like your first trip to prison. Same goes for most of the races, watch your back etc.

If you're complaining about Aliens being slow, try pressing Q. Fuck

Really wishing I could find a damn game!

Just played 1 or 2 rounds on the demo as Alien and Predator so far. Well, the predator is a rapist that's for sure, it's a bit more difficult as alien as you can knock out lights and use shadows which is really cool. Not played Marines yet but I like this so far. Controls are okay, game runs fine, graphics are alright for DX9, can't wait to see what it's like on DX10. Really fun using the grab moves. I grabbed an alien by the throat and sliced off half his head as a predator only to turn around and get skull fucked by another alien! :D I like it. Glad I've pre-ordered. If people start watching each other's backs it will get challenging and fun I think.

Seems there should be some sort of meter to keep the grab function usable from what I'm reading. Like..I don't know, heads eaten as an Alien charges up until you can do a grab? I am understanding this right? The Grab is essentialy an unavoidable instakill?
