Just because they shut down the master server does not mean it's abandon ware

Its like saying Selling Darkmessiah key for $5 when they were giving out free keys to Darkmessiah.
So you will pay for Avp2 wanting to play online needing a cdkey,You type in your key only to get a List with nothing on it.
Lithfaq made it possible to play again they didnt need permission to do it due to Seirra dropping it completly.
Also it was made in 2001
Sierra Gave up on the game They closed the MasterServer down and released no more patches leaving it to die which it still had fans to play.
I can see why people would want to buy it off Ebay/Amazon for the cd's itself but the keys are useless

Sorry, but I'll have to go off-topic for a second. I'm trying to get AvP2 multiplayer to work. I downloaded both Master server files from [URL=http://www.lithfaq.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=426]here[/URL], but I still can't see the game servers. Firewall defense has been removed from the game itself, is there anything else I need to unblock?
I'll provide with more info specific info when asked.
I use Comodo and Avast.

well, we have solid proof that it'll be on all three of the big boy systems. peace on earth is here at last... soon to be interrupted by the screaming of dying Colonial Marines, Bloodcurdling shrieks from vicious Xenomorphs, and the cold and calculated bloodlust of the Predator.
I remember being a predator and I was getting chased down by a minigun-toting marine. I ended up going down a long hallway, knowing that he's gonna get me if I keep running down the hallway when he turned the corner. So I cloaked, crouched, and sat as close to the wall as I possible could.
He comes around the corner and sprays all of his ammo down that hallway. We're talking a good length of time shooting.
I sit and pray nothing hits me. After he spends all of his ammo, I am completely unscratched.
So he keeps walking down the hallway, passes me, and I rip his head off with my wristblades.
Man, it was fucking awesome, haha.
I still remember an epic moment from AVP 2 online.
I was playing Marine on an EVAC gameserver. The map was like iron refinery or something with a lot of long closed corridors. I saved a guy from a predator and he says thanks then we start running down a hall to the evac point together. He turns a corner moments before me and as I turn the corner I find his body on the ground and his head pinned to the wall from a harpoon gun. It was frickin' epic. Of course I was soon after raped, but man...
Ive had Epic times playing as Drones.
When everyone was all friendly and when teamwork was used we bum rushed the marines in survival climbing up the walls making a distraction while the Predalien went for the kill.
But after playing through everyone decided to do it then it was my turn as a human,Everyone died execpt me so i hid in a corner which i thought i would get my ass handed but i was just with my rifle and shotgun pumping them it was funny they couldn't hit me.
Untill i looked up a runner i was like :o
then headbite.
i had one epic moment with the drone:
at the map dm_lucifersfate (that was the name right?) i went to the sewer part, climbed on the ceiling waiting patiently, a marine arrives and as soon as he enters the sewer i taunt him, he then looks up right into my face, i bit his head off :v:
I had an epic moment as a marine:
A few marines were bunched up in the demo map, whatever that is, and I felt like killing a teammate with a shotgun. So when I shot him, instead of him dying, a totally invisible predator died. I didn't even know it was there
I had always hoped they would make another avp game, but I never really thought they would until now. I can't wait to see more of this.
People in this thread saying about how avp2 rocked by far obviously haven't played avp1, the original 1999 game. As old as it was, it still had the right storyline and suspense in it other than avp2 which seems more comical to me. Avp1 had scripted aliens, you'd never know where the fuck the aliens would come from and that usually freaked me, unlike avp2. A long with the alien, the facehugger would always freak you out as it's freakishly fast and you hardly know it's near you except for a strange clipping sound.
And yes I do own avp1 and avp2 so I know the difference.

so do I, but I barely played AVP1 for some reason. maybe I'll try it again sometime soon.
