The joke is that mobs spawn in dark spaces. Regardless of there being a creeper before the sun rose, it could have spawned in the darkened area.

It's completely buried in sand, just found the monster spawner.

So i logged into the server i usually played on yesterday and found a large section of my wall had been destroyed. I log back in today after fixing the wall, only to find the wall gone again. I found out who had done it.
