Call of Duty V10 - Hop in, there's still room in the bandwagon!

I never played the first Call of Duty games online, because I didn't have proper internet at the time. I played the campaigns like hell though, and that's mainly what I remember from them.
I played Call of Duty 2 multiplayer pretty much every day, all day long. I absolutely loved it and I still do, didn't enjoy the campaign that much though.

And then Call of Duty 4 came out which was completely different, I didn't like that they moved away from the world war 2 era at first but I found that it was an awesome game, both singleplayer and multiplayer.
I was really excited with the modern setting. Before CoD4 there were so many vietnam/ww2 shooters.

Not alot of vietnam shooters actually, like 4 perhaps.

there were just as many modern.
ArmA, OFP, BF2, CS, etc
when I first saw CoD4 all I thought was how it looked like a ripoff of BF2:SF minus the vehicles, plus a plot.
I keep getting rumors that the next map pack will pull a Karkand and bring back weapons.
I want my FAL Grenade Laucher back!
you're better off with another attachment, the nade launcher is garbage...RDS too good.
It was a joke, because the last thread title was "Still not as shit as BF3" which I think some mod made.

1. Perks are better balanced, weapons are less balanced. Overall slightly less balanced than CoD4 but not horrible.
2. The maps work fine for Demolition/HQ/Domination, I dunno about SnD, hate that mode
3. There's no server browser so people play the maps on a set rotation
4. Nobody plays anything properly, welcome to online FPS games
5. No lean
No server browser my arse.
I neglected to mention the unranked dedicated server list because I completely forgot about it.
Black Ops runs worse on my 6850 than on my 4850

it only took them four years to fix
Anybody have some clever names for custom classes, currently looking for a name for a pure an ant-killstreak class and for a sniping class. Traditional sniping..."hardscoping" and whatnot...
Do you guys count CoD 2: Big Red One and CoD: United Offensive?

traditional sniper
obviously
or if you want to be purely anti-killstreak
"high value target eliminator"
Guardian (Assault Rifles)
Gunslinger (Sub Machine Guns)
Supporter (Light Machine Guns)
Sex Panther (Shotguns, Because 60% of the time, it (fails to) works every time)
Operative (Traditional Sniper without Quickdraw or Snipers with ACOG's with Quickdraw, and Silenced weapons, this tends to be the class with sneaking)
Elton John (Rocket Launchers)
How would you encourage more movement and less corner camping in a game like this anyway? Game Design wise anyway.
remove assassin as a perk
not hating on assassin, arguably the best red perk in the game
Why dont they just remove 90% of those killstreaks aswell? Keep it simple pre-MW2.
killstreaks of any sort are going to promote camping to get to the higher ones, people do camp even for a five or seven streak
Yeah but you must admit, it wasnt as bad in MW1 and World at War compared to the games after MW2.
i agree
but it also could be that people were too busy complaining about other things to have camping be a major issue.
I don't really mind enemy campers, if they killed you from one spot you can be almost sure they'll be in roughly the same spot next time.
How did you have to camp in cod4 to get killstreaks?
It was the easiest cod ever for me to get them. Hell, I could get them using only killstreaks alone :v:
simultaneous it's always bad practice to go back to that area specifically to kill them, just means you need to be more aware, something i often forget to do is check my corners, i need to do that more often, i mean im not killed to frequently by corner campers, but i could eliminate 2-4 deaths ever 5 games or so if i made sure to check every single one.
I always check corners aswell, I learned to do that from playing CoD4 hardcore.
I was really fucking good at CoD4, I didn't bother to camp because I knew the majority of the time I could get the helicopter anyways.
The talk about campers being annoying in recent games reminds me of the first CoD, where if you camped still for too long, the game would call you out on it and mark you on everyone's little 'radar' in the corner so they could find and kill you. :v:
its a good thing they don't do that in future games, patient sniping would cease to exist
its a good thing they don't do that in future games, patient sniping would cease to exist
not really, I find myself wiggling sideways all the time as a sniper to adjust my angle on certain shots.
I can't figure out how to snipe at decent distances in mw3. Maps are just too small and cluttered so you don't get someone in your face.
I played Crysis 2 yesterday and the maps just felt alot better to me. Even though they do have some clutter in between, it isn't enough clutter so you can't see from one side of the map to the other.
That being said, they should had made the maps a bit bigger, with more open spaces and corridors, and with less obstruction (E.g: the sniper map in mw2 which I forgot the name)
Almost every map now feels like Skidrow, which is bad because even though the map is nice, having everthing like it isn't.
Its my only gripe.
Have they fixed the spawn system yet?
