Why is campers considered bad gameplay?
If you'd actually stop sprinting and take a look you'd notice that they're easy as fuck to kill

Its basically easy mode.
You don't have to run around, you kill the people who pass by and don't really have to look over your shoulder most of the times.
Kind of like arriving home and having someone waiting to jump on you without you knowing and ever seeing it come.
Kinda like a claymore mine if you think about it. Those things were annoying as fuck in Blops, you couldn't get away from them 90% of the time.
I can't figure out how to snipe at decent distances in mw3. Maps are just too small and cluttered so you don't get someone in your face.
I played Crysis 2 yesterday and the maps just felt alot better to me. Even though they do have some clutter in between, it isn't enough clutter so you can't see from one side of the map to the other.
That being said, they should had made the maps a bit bigger, with more open spaces and corridors, and with less obstruction (E.g: the sniper map in mw2 which I forgot the name)
Almost every map now feels like Skidrow, which is bad because even though the map is nice, having everthing like it isn't.
Its my only gripe.
Have they fixed the spawn system yet?
i agree you put it well with every map in this game feeling like skidrow, human controlled air support is nothing compared to how useful they were in MW2
as far as sniping maps i feel that there a a few good spots on Resistance, Interchange, Fallen, Seatown, Mission. but again key word few, people will be looking for you at those areas but resistance is arguably the best overall for sniping purposes

It's more of my issue towards corner campers
Getting Black Ops on PC tomorrow.
Stakeout here I come!

Too few to even turn the game into a sniper only war. Although I had an extremely good game with a MSR on Resistance at the store near the garages and the van.
MW2 and MW1 had pretty good maps to snipe though, MW1 being simply awesome since both teams had their own sides on the map. Crossfire for example, it was usually OpFor aiming to the balcony on the other side of the map with USMCs from the parking lot and the grocery ruined building. Then people stayed there for a long time, shooting each other with snipers while people with ARs/SMGs/shotguns flanked through the alleys and houses to bust the snipers.
Thats what I love about cod4. That sort of "campish" dynamic the game has with a team on each side of the map.
Nowadays, its like people spawn wherever... They die and they seem to spawn a bit closer to the enemy, mainly because everyone is spread out through the maps.
Thats something I don't understand, how on cod4 everyone stayed together near a bunch of houses firing at the people on the other side and on mw2/BO/MW3 everyone is spreaded around the map and people spawn on top of other people.
I don't know why people say spawning sucks in cod4. In later cods, sure, it might suck (mw3, surely), but spawning on cod4 was pretty great to me.
I complain about the spawn system in Black Ops throughout every game. MW2 was much better, but still warranted complaints every now and then. However, MW3's maps are designed a lot like Black Ops(cluttered hedgemaze type feel on every map) so there's no doubt there'll be more to complain about in MW3 than MW2. I hardly remember ever complaining about MW1's spawn system, but that's because the maps, imo, were just designed so much better and weren't just cluttered hedgemazes.
It's a "pick your poison" type deal in my eyes. Deal with the incredibly bad spawn system of Black Ops, or FMG9's in MW3. Purely TDM speaking of course. I love Black Ops' theme, and setting, it just gives that so incredibly un-smooth and broken feeling to play. One of the first games to get a real cool look at a well done and implemented G11 though(if you're allowed to play with it, that is. I've been kicked/banned multiple times for using it, I don't understand why. It's not like it's an incredibly OP weapon?)
I think MW3 is a lot like Black Ops, only more smooth and with akimbo "Machine Pistols" So in a sense it's still the sprint around and have the highest ROF gun possible. Which is why a lot of players use the AK74U in Black Ops, and akimbo Machine Pistols or PP90M1/P90/PM-9/MP7 in MW3. Not to mention never using iron sights, because 90% of all the combat doesn't happen beyond a 5 meter range.
Where is the cheapest place to get the russian pc version key?
They really need go back to the drawing board and find out what made the maps of MW1 so good themselves. I dont know much about games design but im guessing a team creates one map or is it just one guy following orders?

it varies from dev to dev
so was the 3 "L"s in the title purposeful because we're playing MW3 or just a normal typo?

It a strategy like every other imo. someone has to to make it risky to switch of your brain and sprint around with steady aim, that someone is the camper.

It is a strategy like every other, but its too easy and too destructive, in its own way.
I don't really condone it, but I sure hate to be minding my own business, make a turn and some guy hidden takes a shot at me and kills me because he's been sitting there the whole match.
Its increadibly annoying. One thing is having recons in games like BF, another is having some guy sitting on the dark corner of a place in a small map, quiet as a mouse, looking straight at the place where you are coming from and killing you.

Can't compare it to cod2 because I actually never played it. WW2 theme never really got in my heart, and was overused to hell.
Still, I didn't see it as bad at all. Worst I've had was people walking in on me as soon as I spawned 1 out of 5 times.
guys whos up for some CoD 1?
I still consider it the best CoD ever.

why the fuck do people hate on games based on the theme
ffs just play it for gameplay.

That kind of defeats the point of having a personal opinion. By your logic we should all play the ugliest, most bland games in the industry just because they play decently (actually, that is kinda happening with MW right now). But what if we want something aesthetically appealing, something that looks nice, and plays maybe not quite as well, due to it being different, or requiring more time to get used to playing it? Games like Mirrors Edge wouldn't have happened if everybody had your mindset, one of the most beautiful first person games in years, with a heavily flawed gameplay at times.
Games are trying to become an art form, and to many of us, they are. Why should we deal with boring, ugly games just because they play well? Why can't we encourage developers to think outside the box, try new themes. If somebody doesn't like a certain theme, it is going to annoy them, and make the game worse for them to play.

ehm no. You can still do WWII without having it be overly ugly and or bland.
Sure you can do the same weapons and things, but the overall environment and gameplay can be massively different. You can't compare the colorful environments of DoD:S with the grimy environments of W@W. They're entirely different aesthetics.

So... If there was a mlp game (bound to suck) that had good gameplay, I should play it?
Thats the worst reason to play a game ever.

yup
I dislike general fantasy games and soft sci-fi, but I've played magicka and terraria and DoW
because they have good gameplay.

No matter how you coat it with, WW2 will always be boring to me.

It sounds like one of the most boring games on earth to me.

I wouldn't count magicka or terraria though. Neither magicka or terraria are very heavy on theme, especially not terraria. Magicka is a little on fantasy I suppose but it's main theme focus is simply comedy.
But yeah, I think you can disregard a game because of it's theme. For example, if you don't like fantasy, you're probably not going to like Fable or TES because they are so heavy on the fantasy theme while you on the other hand may enjoy Magicka or Unreal. Gameplay is not 100% of a game.

Appeals to the lowest common denominator, a guy at Uni in my flat doesn't play many games other than FIFA and CoD. But he installed Steam and bought Football Manager (along with like 4 other mates) and they actively play and compare teams. Quite interesting to see them at it, even if the football speak means shit to me.

I got a couple of friends like that aswell. They don't really talk alot about soccer but when they do, its FM based only. How their teams won or lost or whatever.
I feel its kinda like a RTS, except boring as fuck because the most exciting thing you'll probably see is... Probably nothing... Maybe a goal here and there that happened in some weird way, other than that, its just "I trained my team for X but they weren't ready, so I bought B and then they won" and stuff like that, and its basically the only game they would ever play.
