Call of Duty V10 - Hop in, there's still room in the bandwagon!

Well I don't know about the age thing. I still rage, and I'm an old geezer. 18-ish. I just know how to channel my rage into shouting and punching other non-important stuff.
Not going to read the achievment list in case of spoilers. In other news, I tried out the MW3 freeweekend. One of my first games.

It doesn't show the important stats like captures and defends but I did a ton of captures. Playing this reminded me of how much I love Black Ops.
So... why does everyone hate this game? I haven't played one and I really wanna pre-order Black Ops 2. Should I?

Call of Duty in general? Story time children.
The hate became pretty popular in MW2 on Facepunch when it was announced that dedicated servers and mod tools were not going to be included in the game. Instead, matchmaking was going to be used to find matches, like the console version. It was however the first Call of Duty game to utilize Steamworks, to easily connect to friends and what not. Rumors came about that additional maps were coming, which was great, until we saw it was $15 per map pack. Three new maps and two Call of Duty 4 ports. Modern Warfare 2 was also accused of being effortless rehash of Call of Duty 4. I personally didn't understand it because for better or for worse, it was certainly different with pro perks, customized killstreaks, and more. Anyways, a workaround called AlterIWnet was born and was a mod that allowed dedicated servers and limited mod tools for MW2. They've been shut down but are known as fourdeltaone. It allows dedicated servers, limited mod tools, and new maps ported from Spec Ops. It also has a MW3 client.
End of Act I
The Fucking Numbers. Black Ops took the job of fixing everything MW2 did wrong, adding a ton of customization, zombies, wager matches, and more. Black Ops didn't get nearly as much hate as MW2 did. Treyarch games are pretty much liked except for the Call of Duty hate bandwagons. Most people just hated the Infinity Ward ones after Call of Duty 4. The PC side got some of their features back such as FOV editing, ranked dedicated servers (had to be rented and very little customization) and lean keys.
End of Act II
We have MW3. Unbalanced as shit. Dedicated servers return, but are unranked. Want to rank up? Go play matchmaking. FOV editing and lean keys are no more. The singleplayer was a joke. Special Ops was the same as far as missions go, but survival was added. Pretty much firefight from Reach, but in multiplayer maps. Call of Duty Elite Premium was added which was $50 for all the DLC packs. Recieved tons of hate (notice how people react to BF3's premium). Some free DLC was added such as a new gamemode and maps called Face Off, and Terminal from MW2.
End of Act III
Black Ops 2 looks pretty good from trailers but since nobody here has played it I'm not going to say much about balancing. It has some PC features like FOV, lean keys, dedicated servers, etc. A new create a class system and scorestreak system are here.
End of Act IV
Sorry about the writing, I didn't plan any of this out and did it all on a few minutes. But theres 15% of Call of Duty hate summarized. As for your question, watch some videos of it. There's been hours of multiplayer footage, many articles of the new features, and new zombie game modes.

Is it just me, or does the gun sound different when he shoots inside the building?
Woah, I'm way better at the PC version of MW3 then the console version. Way better as in I did 10 matches and I came in second in most of them, the console version I'm usually in 4-5
It is the reverse for me with BF3, better at the 360 version then the PC version.
If only they had gamemodes that played in the past and you could make separate classes so you can have "past" gamemode classes that are only used in the "past" gamemode and future weapons that work in the regular gamemodes
I was playing modern warfare 3 today on steam since its a free weekend. I can play everything on the highest settings do you think the same will apply towards black ops 2?

Maybe, Black Ops 1 ran like shit at launch so there may be issues at first.
Black Ops OSX has lower requirements than Windows...
...The singleplayer was a joke...
I quite enjoyed MW3's SP. It got a little boring towards the end though. Far better than BO's SP, but I thoroughly enjoy/ed the MP in BO.
I prefer MW3's SP to BF3's (it was pretty bad) however I enjoyed playing BF3's because the engine was a joy play with.
And the sound in BF3 is just incredible.
New PC Info
What anti-cheat will be used?
Anti-cheat is a top priority for Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. We have developed our own proprietary server-side anti-cheat technology which will work alongside VAC to deliver the most advanced detection and banning capabilities of any Call of Duty game to date. We have also improved our player reporting system to make it the most effective way that you can help us catch cheaters. And starting on launch day we will have a full-time dedicated pc anti-cheat team focused solely on detecting and banning cheaters. We have a zero tolerance policy on cheating. Cheaters bans are permanent.
Will Black Ops have Matchmaking or Dedicated Servers?
Both! Call of Duty®: Black Ops II PC combines matchmaking with secure ranked dedicated servers. This means that you get into Public Matches or League Play via matchmaking lobbies. It is easy to party up and play with your friends. You can adjust your classes or scorestreaks between matches. It also means that every Public or League match is hosted on a dedicated server running in one of our high bandwidth datacenters around the globe.
Will you release the server files?
No. We are keeping the server files secure to protect the game from hacking and cheating and ensure the ranking and progression system integrity.
Can I rent a server?
No. We are providing a huge number of servers around the world at no extra charge – plenty for everyone to enjoy. And we will administer the servers.
Will there be mod tools?
No. As we continually improve and advance our in-house tools for our own content teams we are unable to provide consumer tools due to increased technical requirements, licensing restrictions, and technology dependencies.
Some mixed opinions on this. I won't need tons of DLC to play online. Black Ops has only 24/7 Nuketown servers and if I want to play an objective game mode it has to be a server I have a bad ping on. This fixes it, but I'd still rather have Call of Duty 4's system back. This one is much better than MW2/3 and Black Ops though.
holy shit both match making and dedicated servers
Do you think Steamworks has something to do with them being locked down so tight on the PC version? Ever since it was put in we've had console matchmaking, rented servers with little options, matching making and unranked servers, all the way to matchmaking using dedicated servers. Out of these I like the last one best but I miss the old ways. At least there won't be stupid servers/admins and I'll have the full MP experience.

This really sucks for a PC game , and for PC gamers.
So I played MW3 on the free weekend and this was my experience in a nutshell:
Hackers, bad ping and getting killed by killstreaks 80% of the time
great game

Yea IW and Sledgehammer give Call of Duty a bad name. Free weekends just scream hackers anyways.

dude that is some music right there
it's like some sort of sad music you hear when something bad happens in a movie
So i've been playing the free weekend and decided to purchase the full game today. it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I've come across some aimbotters though
Got MW3 for PC, even though the Free Weekend ended, I'm still doing quite well.

That was something sorely lacking from Blops. Matchmaking I mean. It was kinda a pain to get in a good server, and have enough space for everyone. I'm glad they took this route, exactly what I wanted.

i made a really good gameplay commentary
like and subscribe?!?!?

I had a lot of fun making this.
I was going to hit subscribe but then you made me remember that I spent $60 on Modern Warfare 3 at release.
What followed was a tragic spiral downwards into the depth of my being, fueled by sad hysteria and manic disassociation as I relived every single regrettable instance of my life at a single moment.
The bill for my psychiatrist will be in the mail.
I'm not sure what i am doing wrong but i've always been pretty bad at FPS games when it comes to PC. I don't know if im just way to used to using a controller or that i don't have a mouse pad
Im in the KAN clan on Blops 1, and we were super excited about Blops 2 until they released that new info. Almost none of us are going to get it now. The entire reason we are a clan is that we can administer our server, but take that away and whats the point of dedicated servers? No mods, no mods/ admins. Just all silly stupid choices.
Beyond that some of the maps are looking a lot like MW3 small clusterfucks with broken shit everywhere.
I reeaaallly trying to remain positive about it though. I love Blops 1.
I love that server. One of the only rotational servers I have a decent connection to. The new server doesn't bug me as much but I'm not part of a clan that has a server so I can see why you're angry. I just like how I can play more variety. I can only do TDM now, and when it isn't TDM its Nuketown. It sucks.

Five years ago I lost my bird in the blink of an eye, and the world just fuckin' watched.
I can't stand MW3. I don't know why, but everytime I play it, I get really bored after like 20 minutes and move on to Blops.

Don't worry. This is the standard reaction of most people who enjoy Treyarch's titles and not the hatchet job that MW3 was.
