While an avid critic of the series myself, I believe and hope that Black Ops II will bring something fresh to the series, perhaps redeeming it.

Black ops 2 feels pretty fresh (multiplayer anyways, don't think anything can top the MW series single player). Not the best COD in every aspect (loved MW1 and MW2 maps to death[IMHO best maps ever]) but it's much better than both black ops 1 and MW3, and in some aspects even better than MW1 and MW2. It's a pretty fantastic game so far.

This'll probably be my last new game purchase of the year if I buy it, should I still go for it?

The maps feel a little dodgy with the spawning but I love the 10 points thing Plus 32(?) layer emblems? I think I spent more time making emblems than playing

Running around FFA with a crossbow, tomahawk and knife... This is the most fun I've had in a cod game.

Got put into silver league. Disappointed, really - I lost 4/5 of my placement matches because my teammates were bumbling imbeciles too stupid to focus on the objective and just played every mode as TDM. Also, anyone know how the ladder system works - is it based around personal skill (probably aggregated from KD(A)R, objective score) or if it's purely win/lose? [B]E:[/B] Oh, it actually says in the ladder description "Once placed you will earn ladder points for victories and lose ladder points for losses." [I]Uuuuuuuugh.[/I]

Does anyone else seriously not like the Strike-Force missions? I found the first to be very tedious and boring. I didn't want to do it 2 minutes in.

It might be because PC, I might try it later with my controller actually. Though in general, it does feel a little un-polished.

So hows the PC version of Blops 2?

I think the Kinect Microphone as both ruined Xbox Live, and made it the best thing ever. Half the games I get to hear someone's rap music being played and picked up by the Kinect. This is annoying when I'm on their team, but I un-mute them if their on the enemy team because I get a good laugh out of killing someone and then hearing random music for two seconds, taking it as a reply. And then there was the time I got to listen to some 13-14 year old kid argue with his dad about the time he was "knocked out drunk". The mall map is my favorite one to play Hardpoint on, mainly because of when the hardpoint is moved into the club area that's playing dubstep. I don't even like dubstep but it's fun to listen to when I blindly run into the room with a shotgun. It carries nice energy.

The second pistol you unlock something 45/40 is really overpowered in FFA, it takes around 3 shots with fmj or around 4-5 w/o and has a 10 round mag.
