Lol bad gayme cuz croud sayz so!11 I played it on the free weekend thing, honestly if you unlock the console, it's a really really fun game. I actually started looking into getting a copy for cheap, because I actually want to play it again, badly. But, for some reason, a two year old game doesn't seem to get a price drop. Where as a game that's a few weeks old get's a massive 50% price cut (NFS 2010).
Sorry you missed the part where what I said was my opinion, regardless of it being shared with many people.
Valve probably gets paid to make custom content for the stores, and since they own Steam, who cares. They still get money from all the retail units sold. And Preorder bonuses are bullshit
Sorry you missed the part where what I said was my opinion, regardless of it being shared with many people.
I assumed you were band-wagoning. Sorry.
Chances are that the skins are gay and the pc version will have something better.
I assumed you were band-wagoning. Sorry.
Nope, the bandwagon is pretty dead anyway. People realised CoD sucks without the bandwagon's help.
Its 10 bucks off ONLY on the Pc, even at a retailer. So I guess thats our bonus? But then again, you get the bot skins at gamestop and 10 bucks off aswell.
Well I am sure we are going to get the Portal Pin. Actually, I am more concerned I get anything as I pre-ordered from The Hut (cause they are a lot cheaper).
Id like a portal pin mailed to me.
I thought that steam's 10% off was good enough
Id rather have no skin than this Only bonus in my area and I dont like it so I went with steam.

What better pre-order bonus than the game a day early? Portal 2 is coming out on steam april 18th, while in most retailers it is coming out the 19th or the 21st. Plus portal and 10% off. And probably TF2 hats the day of release.
While they appear to be available for PC Pre orders too, the skins are most likely meant to be an incentive more so for the console versions. They will probably be available to all PC players at some point, maybe PS3 players due to "Steam For PS3". You remember when Left 4 Dead 2 had the Baseball Bat as a pre order bonus? At least for the PC Version, the Bat ended up available to everyone when The Passing was made available as it was part of a mandatory update. I am guessing you only got this change if you bought The Passing on Xbox 360, otherwise the bat remained pre order/playing with pre order only.
I sincerely doubt that Valve, a very business-minded developer, would work out the backend to support Co-op bot skins, only for them to be used to reward those who don't buy from Steam. This doesn't mean there will be a Steam pre-order, but that bot customization will probably have a use outside of preorder bonuses.

Germans and russians Have Cool Bonus :(
Germans and russians Have Cool Bonus :(
We have yet to see what's the Russian skin.
In b4 'Portal 2 : First Slice'
Second Slice?
I'm thinking you can just add the vtf in the PC version and you're good to go, provided the engine still uses the same format (one way or another.)
I don't want the Portal 2 Pin in Team Fortress 2 for my pre-order, I don't even play TF2 anymore. I hope they have something else other than the generic "preorder for an item on another game that you might not even have or play".
(I rushed out thread title, it should say "Steam does not have any preorder bonuses for portal 2") After recent news about russian and another versions of the game that have some preorder bonuses like co-op skins and cool stuff like stickers I started to regret pre-purchasing it on Steam.
Russian version also costs 20$
Pre-order bonus's of ingame items are my current most hated thing I don't mind if its a soundtrack CD or a voucher but denying ingame content is an immediate turn off to the game and my reason for not purchasing dragon age 2 until it drops significantly in price I will not pay full price for a product that is missing bits.
I don't mind the Portal 2 preorder bonus for Steam. I mean, the fact that they give you the last 3 levels of the game for preordering is pretty nice.
can I have your portal pin then?
Watch. They'll be worth millions in a while!
can I have your portal pin then?
Yes.
