So when i have 500 ducats i should get the option to start a trade league?
Well. It depends. If you have a good location, you're going to be grand and a center for magnificent trade. The Hansa is good because they own the bottom of denmark/ top of germany, so they have access to both sides of the Kiel. Genoa has tradeports in Sardina, ukraine, and Northwest Italy. Location matters a lot, and tradeleagues won't do that much good in the center of a land mass, unless you were the golden horde, or something.
There, it's less ugly. Still need to clean it up a bit.
What is your leader's culture?
trade sliders and advisors probably not all nations are geared for trading. states like venice and the hansa get enormous revenue from trading, but i think states like switzerland and france only get mediocre returns from sending their traders out. [editline]2nd December 2012[/editline] prussia is not in prussia and west ukraine is in the middle of russia 0/10 would not fuck borders too pointy
Not a good mindfuck as cuba being in the center of europe. I mean seriously what the fuck.
What is your leader's culture?
Andalusian. It's been hard trying to keep order with all the Germans. I just give all my Kingdom titles and vassals to my son, and the duke titles to his son. Keeps them too weak to do anything. Also been meaning to set Paris or Rome as my new capital since they're Andalusian now too, but the AI already sets a capital beforehand making it impossible.
So when i have 500 ducats i should get the option to start a trade league?
You can only form a trade league if you're a merchant republic. To do that, the CoT has to be in your capital province. You need at least 20 merchants abroad to make the government change to one as well. It helps if you have access to the sea, otherwise you won't fare as well against the other trade leagues and you don't get the merchant-colonist bonus which helps alot.
Well im sitting pretty well with money right now, and i upgraded my military from a puny 4000, to 18000. Now I actually need to find a way to sea, but England(Savoy), or Milan stand in my way. both have major alliances and everything, I dont see a way i can gain any land from anybody, without being fucked up. Im playing as switzerland btw. At least I own monopolies in the largest trading centers.

Alas, the Arpad dynasty has fallen on hard times again! Where we last left off, Ludwig the Wise was ruling over the Byzantines and slowly converting it to a Catholic empire. Well, Ludwig got frisky with his new wife and so my first born son to my first wife was displaced from the line of succession. Well, he did not like that at all! So my son (who, might I add, was in command of ALL of my country's armed forces) threatened to destroy me if I did not give up rights to the empire immediately. Okay, I thought. I'll let the little bastard take control and I was reduced to Count Ludwig the Wise. INSTANTLY, the Byzantine empire breaks into Civil War. My son was seen as a vicious tyrant and all around asshole while Ludwig was perceived as a man who could link the boundaries of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. So I watch as the realm shifts leaders and...oh no. A Waldensian boy of six is crowned emperor! THIS WILL NOT DO. I instantly start a faction for someone (who ironically I had been trying to plot and kill) and once again, the Byzantines break out into war with the man of my choosing sitting atop the Byzantine empire. My first born who started the revolution against me died of pneumonia a little bit after the Waldensian boy was placed upon the throne, my Grandson despises me and at the ripe old age of 55 Ludwig the Wise is marshall of the Byzantine empire, and Count of Constantinople. Stefan, the son I had who was to be Emperor to the Byzantines is currently betrothed to a Danish princess and my second son to my first wife is betrothed to a warrior daughter of a duchess who was Ludwig's ward for most of her life. Remember folks, CK2 is a FAMILY game. I'll take updated map photos, seeing as how the British are crusading against the Waldensian HRE.

Then I realized they have cores everywhere on me. So I'm gonna have to deal with a Italy this entire game, fuck.
As long as we're sharing screenies, let me show my victoria 2 fantasia game: [t]http://i.imgur.com/IcwwH.jpg[/t] What is now known as the German Empire started off as a small little state of Bremen, but we quickly grew past that. This image is only a little while after we've started sorting out everything, and research is still dropping, Damn French take up like 20% of the empire's population now. [t]http://i.imgur.com/GJLMM.jpg[/t] Super Uzbekistan is the elephant in the room. Hugely powerful and capable... they can't form Russia, either because of culture groups or because the other nation finally did. Even more awkward: They sphered (what is now) Russia long ago. I could sphere Ukraine as a secondary power, but I wanna see a mega-Russia come to threaten me. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZIFru.jpg[/t] That tan, brownish color? Yeah, Korea. Formerly Glorious North Korea. I don't think I need to say anything besides that. [t]http://i.imgur.com/CzHy7.jpg[/t] The only other region of interest. The African Union (formerly Hasui Alliance) has been a big player for a while now, along with Persia. Persia got an unfortunately large amount of coal provinces, so most of my early-mid expansion was focusing on acquiring more. My steel factory spam is outdoing his steel factory spam except for the fact that we have terrorist cells everywhere and are incapable of producing anything. Such is life as mega-Germany. Goddamn French bureaucrats convert already
I am playing as Venice in Eu3. 1408. Austria and Hungary declared war on me (Salzburg, Bohemia and Bavaria are on my side). Can I win??
How did you get the flags to work? They are all screwed up when I try to use them?
I didn't have any problems with flags, I just followed the install instructions. Although a few years after I took that screenshot I randomly got an event "The Fall of the German Empire" which uncored everything Literally I have no cores. And my military score plummeted. It said I lost great power status in the event, but I was still #1 in everything (until I lost that military score but I was still #1 overall). I have no idea what triggered it. Help, thread.

Here's some shit from my Fantasia game. [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/542945375891019413/047F6FC25C698F7BDDD350B95F3A1B373D8FC47E/[/thumb] I'm playing as the German Confederation, right now I'm surrounded by my spheres so I can't really expand a whole lot :(. This is the South African domain, expands all the way to Turkey and through the Middle East, and to Panama. [thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542945375866506267/B412A38A12F7F1F191CB0E36ABF69089638A6470/[/thumb] And this is Mexico which controls practically all of North America at this point, sans New England which is sphered to me and of which I have a little colony inside of on the east, and Canada which is dead at this point. [thumb]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/542945375891047052/8F190D8F9E0B72FD0DB85E59FE2407F5800863CA/[/thumb] There's also Great Britain in Europe with a massive amount of troops ready to storm Belgium, Aurillac and I, and the Russian Federation in the East which has a hold on Northern Asia and also alot of troops. I'm scrunched right in the middle with allies that don't like me. Fantasia gets scary. Edit: Also for a reference on how things have changed, here's a shot from 1715 when I was still playing as Greece. (Also had different graphics mods.) I eventually decided that Greece was a failure, de-allied everyone and broke up all the territories I had gained into their independent nations and restarted as Mecklenburg. Man, just observing Crusader Kings 2 really creates some interesting events [img_thumb]http://i50.tinypic.com/2cx6p7k.jpg[/img_thumb] Not sure whats stranger: - The Orthodox Golden Horde helping the Byzantine Empire (Located only in Crimea for the last 200 years) take back some lands taken way by the Muslims hundreds of years before. - Greece (Which was given to the independant Frankish Duke of Flanders for his contribution on the crusade) getting help from the Holy Roman Empire to remove the Muslims from Hungary/the balkans - Italy being given to the Doge of Genoa for crusading against the muslim advance torwards the Pope thus creating the 'Serene Republic of Italy' (which has been remarkably stable) in which all its dukes and King are openly elected, which then went on to unite Sicily and North Africa all the way from Morroco to Egypt therefore becoming, along with Scotland and the HRE, the main power in Europe. - Scotland taking out Norway (which it just lost) and Denmark then having a revolt against its ruler creating two Kings: One the Ex-King of Scotland now just King of Denamrk who holds 2 provinces (and its capital) in Northern Scotland and 1 in Cornwall and Eastern Europe, and the New Queen of Scotland who holds all the other territories yet has thier capital on a random island off the Baltic States. - And finally the obivous France and mainly Spain being messed up to hell, but thats just normal CKII.
Is there a CK2>EUIII mod out yet? What about a Vicky2>HoI3? If there are then I know what I'm doing all week.
Is there a CK2>EUIII mod out yet? What about a Vicky2>HoI3? If there are then I know what I'm doing all week.
Yes and yes don't expect it to be 100% accurate (as evident by my Eu3->Vicky2 screen convert)
Yes and yes don't expect it to be 100% accurate (as evident by my Eu3->Vicky2 screen convert)
I found the CK2>EUIII one, but the results that come up for Vic2>HoI3 are all either "When's it coming out?" or "Here's this super buggy converter I'm working on!"
where does one find this 'fantasia' mod, and does it work with AHD?
where does one find this 'fantasia' mod, and does it work with AHD?
Register your copy of Victoria 2 on the official forums and check the mod section. There is a separate version available for AHD.
I noticed, either the Soviet Union, can't, or won't do by sea invasions in Darkest Hour. They just sit there at the borders. [editline]4th December 2012[/editline] Have another Soviet Occupied Europe, same as my last game only I didn't make Poland Communist (the Soviets eventually caused a coup on their own) They can't seem to take Gibraltar [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23810060/Darkest%20Hour%202012-12-03%2022-06-21-87.png[/t] [editline]4th December 2012[/editline] I was tired of this so I cheated and caused a communist coup in the UK.. Now Africa is confusing to look at because both the (Communist) English Republic and Free France are the same colour, I have to zoom in to see the borders.
Is Darkest Hour Better Than HOI3?
It depends on what you're looking for?
Is Darkest Hour Better Than HOI3?
Darkest Hour is much more expanded, while HoI3 is more polished, especially combat-wise, in my opinion.
I like how in CK2 I get no penalty for executing dynasty members that aren't in direct relation. "Hey son, I gave you all my land, now it's time for me to kill any sons your wives pop out that I don't like!"
I like how you can re-name ships in the Paradox Games, makes you able to 'personalize' your Navies if you don't care about historical accuracy.
