You can also rename army units, and provinces too I think.
I like how you can re-name ships in the Paradox Games, makes you able to 'personalize' your Navies if you don't care about historical accuracy.
"And then, in 1140, Acre was invaded by a fleet of racial slurs and synonyms for 'penis'."
You can also rename army units, and provinces too I think.
It bothers me how in Vicky2 you can't rename provinces or rename individual army units.
Is Darkest Hour Better Than HOI3?
it depends on your tastes DH has a lot more depth in areas, and if you like the idea of raising a country through the Great War and onto WWII, DH is probably your cup of coffee be wary though, the production values are a bit shoddy and the newest patch, which is currently in public beta testing, has yet to be rolled out onto Steam a lot of the images representing countries in the selection screen were simply thrown together in MSPaint and it shows, althrough i do believe that this was polished up in the graphic patch meant to go with the newest patch that is going through the public beta
It bothers me how in Vicky2 you can't rename provinces or rename individual army units.
The province thing always got to me, when I was playing Japan I ended up just writing my own decisions to rename all of Korea and Taiwan
You can rename the army units.
No, not the actual brigade or ships themselves.
It's interesting to see who each vassal in my dynasty marries. Most of Armenia is of my Dynasty and they all love me. While some around the Southern areas near Mesopotamia have turned into Carl from ATHF who have now married Levantines, my line went from blonde hair to black and I'm now introducing as many redhead women from Spain and England as I can. As important as it is to marry for good skills, I've broken several betrothals when they grew up and turned out to have the fat chin.
Me and a friend got our hands on EU: Rome and are going to start a multiplayer campaign, he only plays victoria and I only played Rome for one hour and got invaded by tons of barbarians and one rebel and rome got sacked. And even though I don't think I've done anything too important, I did enjoy it. Unlike hearts of Iron II, which I felt was pretty much a waiting simulator.
Fuck it sucks to have Kings die at horrible times. I was King of Scotland, and was waiting for some gold to crown myself King of Ireland, when I died of old war wounds. My heir was decent enough, the only thing that prevented civil war was the fact that three or four vassals control pretty much all of my armed forces, so they're way easier to manage. Thanks to both my mother and father being horny pretty much 24/7, I had eight siblings. All of them were married or betrothed to various Princes, Princesses, Kings, and Queens. so I had plenty of allies. Two years later, after I finally had enough gold to crown myself King of Ireland and get one step closer to Imperial Britannia, some bitch tried to kill my nephew. I went back at her, got murdered, and my son took over. He was an overweight, drunken, homosexual, Norwegian, and I'm surprised we lasted a month without war breaking out. I had a total of eight hundred men against six thousand. My most important vassal remained neutral, and none of my allies would listen to me. Ireland was lost entirely, the Scottish Lowlands, and the Duchy of the Isles also left. I was dethroned and replaced with a dim-witted child. It was tough watching my Kingdom fall apart so horrifically.
While it sucks when a king dies, if the heir is young and he beats back the rebellion, he is respected for the rest of his life, and there are little chances of further uprisings, unless you changed the crown authority and other laws higher.
i wish hoi3 had a scenario creator. like you get to give provinces, technologies, resources, ai alliances, and units to certain countries and play it with friends. for example, you could make a scenario where a coalition of japanese and chinese fight against a communist russia and usa, or fascist britain invades europe and germany has to push them back.

I was able to crown myself King of Ireland and Wales, as well as Scotland, and am just waiting for the gold to crown myself Emperor of Britannia. Despite the fact that my most powerful vassal died and split his three duchies between some constantly warring triplets, my kingdom is holding together very well. Plus, after my wife died, I married the sixteen-year old heiress to the Byzantine Empire, who I plan to marry to my grandson, and heir, once I die. Awkward, yeah, but oh well. Shit happens.

I hate factions so much.
I hate factions so much.
I prefer it because it give you a better idea of how dangerous each rebellion may be.
It's only good when you're in that faction :v:
I hate factions so much.
Anyone who joins a faction in my game instantly loses their duchy titles. I then transfer their vassalage to my son, invite him to kill them in a plot and laugh maniacally.
Independence factions are the only ones that annoy me to no end.
Man i so want to get into these games but i just cant. I fucking cant get into any of these games. The only game i kind of understand is europa universalis 3. But i get lost at taxes and all that shit. What do i do? Compared to these games dwarf fortress was a walk in the park to learn. The tutorials really doesnt help much they just show me what each thing does but i need more to learn

http://www.paradoxian.org/vicky2wiki/Main_Page Find a country you like that has a fullish guide and follow it word for word after reading the tutorials, both in game and on that site. I learned the game with either Austria or Prussia, can't remember. They both give you a pretty good experience with land units, economy, and sphereing.
-nvm, looked in files-
Victoria is WAY too easy for me, I just get as many provinces at the beginning of the game and bam, I'm rich and beat everyone early, revolts are never a problem for me..(once you got 1m profits and no reforms you know you win)
There any nations I should play as in Europa? Even with 40+ hours in it I find I still don't know what to do really.
There any nations I should play as in Europa? Even with 40+ hours in it I find I still don't know what to do really.
One-Province bishopric in the HRE. Become HRE. Form HRE. Unite Europe. Have fun.
There any nations I should play as in Europa? Even with 40+ hours in it I find I still don't know what to do really.
The Papancy is fun to play as. You have the ability to make a trade center, you get casus belli's on italian provinces, etcetc.
So here's one of my In-Progress observations of Victoria 2. In 1850, I cheated the Communists early. Oh god what happened. (Note, in order, but may be spread out over the period of a few years or more) First, the CSA revolted extremely early, and gained most of America's western territories as well. The US was busy attempting to put down reactionary rebels, and didn't notice the Confederates marching on Washington. The CSA became independent, and took Missouri as well. The NGF forms, and allies with Austria. However, the Russians attempted to take Austria's westen territories. The war was a massive loss. After the war, tons of rebels took over Russia. Poland and Ukraine appeared out of nowhere, and Russia became a "Presidential Dictatorship" (I guess Putin was born early). As Poland takes it's cores away from Russia, Ukraine exploded since Russia took back most of it's rightful territory. The USA broke up again, The Mannhatan Commune gained independence, and America became a Presidential Dictatorship as well. Communists waded through Europe, not accomplishing anything but turning Spain and the Papal States into communist wastelands. Britain, overrun by Reactionaries, turned back into the absolute monarchy of Great Britain. It's 1877 (iirc, posting from my laptop), and everything is shit. [editline]6th December 2012[/editline] Oh and Poland-Lithuania formed for no reason.
Pics?
At least you didn't have Mexico successfully take Ireland from the UK.
