I didn't know you could carry saves over to other games. Can you go all the way from 1066 to World War II?
Theoretically.
It would be fucking broken though. The only game that really has decent compatibility, is Victoria 2 to Hoi3.
Each game has a different amount of countries and such, so it ends up being really weird when it comes over, replacing the existing countries names with other ones.
I say Vicky2 to Hoi3 is the best, considering how by the end of Vicky2, there's much less states than at the end of Eu3 or CK2.
There go my hopes of the Kingdom of Britanny becoming a socialist utopia that nukes everyone it disagrees with.

Hence why my game messed up so much, still... makes for an interesting watch to come back and see what the hell has happened

If you merge Burgundy with Savoy you'd kind of have an upside down Lotharingia. If you merge the minors south of and including France that would be a single viable state, especially if you gave it chunks of Normandy. Keep Brittany independent!
I'd dismantle Bohemia though, yuck.

clean up geoorgia, split "all to scandinavia" between bohemia and you. also, unite 3/4 of france in a fashionable way to the pink goo, and fix italy using the old white man and lombardia. blob a few OPM's in germany.

its quite possible. more so if you mod it yourself

All I want is for the nation names to turn up right with the stuff I downloaded from sourceforge, not have a game where pskov forms an global empire and is renamed to Assam or something.
So doing another partial (Starting at the Civil War) Vicky 2 run.
CSA is able to get Status Quo during the Civil War, then 10 years later decided to conquer Nicaragua
[editline]14th December 2012[/editline]
Wait a second.. the CSA has Cores in all of the Central American Countries and northern Venezuela
What the hell?
I think it's one of their event chains. Historically the CSA had a dream of creating a 'tropical empire' of south america so it could control all sugar/cotton/stuff.
The US has decided to intervene in the CSA's conquest of Central America.
USA Forced Status Quo on the CSA, they've stopped their conquest, for now.
[editline]14th December 2012[/editline]
Fuck! The CSA has cores on me (Haiti) as well, and they just declared war...

I'd say give the Russia bit to Georgia and keep the north-western Iberian province independent or to Portugal. I don't like the curve that Bohemia makes, but I don't think annexing Croatia and Austria is reasonable.
there was some bug (I think), CSA asks Venezuela for two provinces, and when they win they get all the British Caribbean Territories and Cuba.
I was watching the War bar, CSA was only at war with Venezuela
They're asking for Zulia and Bolivar, as soon as they win, they get what I said above.

yeah vicky 2 doesn't have many handsoff nations, only haiti and hawaii, all others are conquered by britain. Maldives is the best though.
In EU3 you can just sit on someone like cyprus for 400 years straight. And in DH/Hoi 3 Haiti is perfect, along with the "handsoff" console command for DH/hoi2.
In CK2, they have a console command that I forgot the name of that turns you and your dynasty into a non existant spectator.
I've spent wayyy too many hours doing handsoff games, just hypothesing on historical situations when really it is just a bunch of ai scripts. Tis a bit of a pity on myself, but hey, it's fun.
I got Hearts of Iron III. No idea what I'm doing. I think I implemented conscription and called up a bunch of militia brigades, no idea why, or how.

Reacting to the obvious aggression, neighbouring countries mobilise their reserves and launch a pre-emptive strike. Alliances cascade and soon war is well underway. With his militia able to work the farms and factories because they haven't actually left home yet, other countries feel the attrition of a full war and soon collapse economically. Shortly after his allies make their own offensives and the war is won before Christmas.
When asked later how the Great Leader came up with such a brilliant strategy that won with so few casualties, he responded "I had no idea what I was doing, I just pressed some buttons and never figured out how to undo it."

Oh sweet Christ this tactic might actually work. Someone really should test this as Belgium or something.
Man, using the map-capture tool in EU3 is super important when playing as Cherokee.
Really shows that DENMARK IS A FUCKING DOUCHEBAG AND SHOULD STOP EXISTING.
Seriously, they took Sweden, and are kicking the tits off of Novgorod, while sending warnings to me (For.No.Reason) Pics tomorrow.
The hell is the "map-capture tool"?
F12 in-game.
Dig around in your files and it shows a basic, paint-esque map.
So uh in CK2 destroying all kingdom titles apart from your own one and never making an empire and using election succession laws means you are the only elector in the kingdom, except everyone is happier for having election law and you will always be able to choose your successor
I've never used Elective succession but I don't think that would work. Dukes can be electors in both Kingdoms and Empires and even if you had no other electors, pretty sure there's a mechanic where they get mad at you for keeping them all to yourself.

dude you should listen to their warnings.
they might be rly important

Sounds like you're playing against me. I love conquering the world as Denmark.

So I was playing a a game using the "Observer" console command, and it seems that the 100 year old lineage of King William the conqueror captured Sicily from the fatimid, and then when the next successor came about, he changed it to his primary title for some reason.
