1953, Japan is still going, they've been nuked once (By the Soviets) but they've pushed on, fortifying the home islands. Also the soviets selected Molotov to replace Stalin instead of Khrushchev unlike real life.
So I figured out what was wrong as Ethiopia. I have no idea how to manage the trade window, and apparently leaving it on automate leaves everyone to get bent with absolutely no life essentials. Any idea what to do when the entire world market only has 11 units of grain to offer you and you need about 40, because I have no idea how or if I can buy more. I'm pretty sure I'm just really bad at this game and should give up on this particular one.

You get your pick at what's left of the 132 guys in front of you. Improve your prestige, or just wait. Grain supplies should become abundant with the industrial revolution.
Dear lord CK2 is boring, I'm sure it's a lot of fun once you get into it if you ever manage to, the learning curve is more of a learning cliff and it seems nothing actually happens in the game. So far in my admittedly short time in playing the game it just seems to tease me with a lot of complicated systems and not actually tell me how to use them. It's like you have to fill out a form to get permission from the game to do half of the things.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7536024/vidya%20gaymes/The%20Jaipur%20Dragon%20Crisis.jpg[/t] I'm not sure what to do. I can choose to assert my position in Northern India and risk an drawn out war with China, or take a 20 prestige hit and back down. What should I do, FP?

SO for the hell of it I started WW3 as the soviets in 1953 Using Bombers stationed in Paris (Soviets conquered France near the end of WW2) I've nuked Edinburgh, London, Manchester, and Cardiff. The UK won't surrender, from what I've read the UK is supposed to automatically surrender after being nuked in Darkest Hour. Then again, Churchill is still PM, never give up was his motto.

they have nearly %100 dissent in every province in Great Britain.
Oh wow. That vid made me want to play HoI 3 and figure it out. [editline]21st December 2012[/editline] And hitlerstep should be a genre.
It already is, mate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRpLRoouc6s Look at all the related videos. A friend of mien told me an electro remix of hitler's speeches won some award a while back, too.
This is how I deal with rebels
Any tips for Darkest Hour? I'm trying to play as the Ottomans for the hell of it, but I don't seem to have control over things like diplomacy.

You need to put some time in to learn the game but when you do it is really worth it. And this is coming from someone who is very very impatient.
I got 2 different Lithuania's here, a High Chiefdom and a Kingdom [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/578976070558537770/8BF3FDD7E8E2F048B992963CEB426F3A046A97E5/[/t]
I like STALIN in the corner.
I don't get it. Why is everyone complaining about the complicatedness of CK2? It's the easiest game of them all, a lot more streamlined compared to CK1. It really isn't all that hard, just avoid the tutorials besides maybe the basics. Watch a let's play of it. Then again, it might just be because I am used to playing paradox strategy games, and CK2 is the latest of them for me to learn, so I'm used to it.
It's because a lot of people start out and they're confused as hell. Same with a lot of paradox games, it just takes experimentation to get used to.

Here's how you invite somebody to your court. Why would you do that? To get claims, of course, but you'll have to watch a Youtube video or dig through menus to figure that out.
King of Scotland just claimed the Throne of France, uh-oh [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578976070561420062/3B11273C24686E9651C78BAFA56BDF564C1F9815/[/t]

Castille joined Britain?
So I just played through my first full campaign in CK2 as Gwynned to Wales. Any mod's suggested to improve the CK experience? I've heard of a few, but never really heard a consensus opinion on the matter.

The modmaker is currently updating it.

Well, no it's not. I meant, if you never updated your game. But the way that the CK2 updates work is that it updates and the game has it, but unless you buy it, it won't unlock. The Aztecs dont come unless you have it, but for things like the Roman one, other people will have retainers and such. I'll inform the thread when it's up to date.

That's unfortunate. Guess I'll wait then. Thanks!
