So I just played through my first full campaign in CK2 as Gwynned to Wales. Any mod's suggested to improve the CK experience? I've heard of a few, but never really heard a consensus opinion on the matter.
Some What More Historic 2.0 Friends & Foes = 100+ Traits Mod Doomstack be Gone!
Hmm, the British Empire is doing well Let's see see the vessel view... Well then. [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline] Here is the revolt risk map. Update on Ethiopia! Despite many setbacks, I was finally able to scrape westernization, and promptly leaped from 72nd place to 16th! Unfortunate losses include the capture of Eritrea by the vile Italians, and the secession and subsequent capture of the Mujardeen coast by Persia. The race for Africa began and promptly resulted in the capture of all inland routes to colonization. The Westernization had the double benefits of ending my people's starvation by allowing me to import the wheat required to feed them. Within a few months I went from a militancy of 10.00 and a rebel contingency that included my entire army, to militancy in the 0.5 range, and a newly upgraded army. Thanks to everyone who helped me figure out that my problems were caused by hunger and assisted solving it. Current plans include capturing back Eritrea and pressing into the heart of Africa to claim the lands so wrongly usurped by the imperialist swine.
I go away for 10 minutes and the British empire goes and conquers Sweden, the current king of the vessel'd Kingdom of Sweden is the son of the Swedish Wife of the previous Emperor, so It might have been a claim thing. So I've been collecting screenshots for a CK2 Game of Thrones AAR as House Targaryen [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline] I may post pictures of my current family tree, if only to show how often it loops back in on itself.
In my CK2 game, every monarch of England until the Formation of the British Empire, and then every British Empire monarch are direct decedents of the Queen I made for the start of the game in 1066. The family tree barely fits on screen vertically. I'd post a picture, but my save won't load, it just sits at the rotating hourglass forever. Its 120MB
Is there a way I can/should prepare an Eu3 game for conversion to Vicky 2? It's 1810 and I am Portugal, having conquered all I needed minus Maine and Nova Scotia.
I found CK2 "Hall of Fame" thread on the Paradox forums, pretty cool http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?650411-CK2-Hall-of-Fame-v2
So I decided to play my Italian save from a long time ago. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68698294/HoI3_MAP_ITA_1943.8.26.9_1.png[/t] It's only 1943 and the world is already completely fucked up. Nearly every country is Europe is Axis. Canada has made a landing in Spain with more men than what makes up the entirety of Canada in real like. Japan is being retarded in China and has yet to take any other parts of Asia. Turkey joined the Axis and has already pushed the Soviets out of Caucasus meanwhile Germany and Finland can't seem to beat the Soviets at all. I have conquered much of Africa but have been stalling near south Africa. Belgian controlled Africa has a shitload of divisions in it and I have given up trying to push inward. Also Persia has pushed in the Soviets and is actually preventing them from pushing inward despite not having any help from any of their Axis allies. Germany has given up trying to defend Norway from the British and it seems like that's what will screw us over. If they push through Sweden they can destroy Finland from the north, and Finland seems to be the only thing keeping the German-Soviet front together.
I don't get it. Why is everyone complaining about the complicatedness of CK2? It's the easiest game of them all, a lot more streamlined compared to CK1. It really isn't all that hard, just avoid the tutorials besides maybe the basics. Watch a let's play of it. Then again, it might just be because I am used to playing paradox strategy games, and CK2 is the latest of them for me to learn, so I'm used to it.
ck2 just has a complex interface. the game is super simple once you know how to navigate the screens.
I'm still terrible at Hearts of Iron after all this time. I still haven't figured out how to do a naval invasion of Britain as Germany, wish there was still a land bridge...

My main problem is still I haven't overcome my fear of not letting the AI handle map movement and a lot of production.
By boats you mean the transports? My mine problem is still I haven't overcome my fear of not letting the AI handle map movement and a lot of production.
no i mean the other boats that you can load divisions onto... you know...carriers.
Start in 1337 as the King of Hungary and Croatia, intentionally die in battle, the heir by seniority is the King of Naples, inherit all 3 kingdoms, form the Frankish empire due to the total realm being more than 200 , hand kingdom titles to family members. Muhahaha.
no i mean the other boats that you can load divisions onto... you know...carriers.
Are you talking about landing craft?
He's talking about aircraft carriers. [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline] Empires are great in CK2, in how they're incredibly stable if you keep the crown authority kind of low, and have the kingdoms well regulated. [editline]23rd December 2012[/editline] The Byzantines are an exception.
He's talking about aircraft carriers.
But you can't load divisions onto aircraft carriers. Unless that was the joke?
But you can't load divisions onto aircraft carriers. Unless that was the joke?
i was being sarcastic because there is really only 2 types of boats that can carry troops and it's pretty obvious which one you should use for an invasion.
I really hope the Republic DLC for CK2 comes out soon, and actually makes some real intrigue in the game. I've been finding it extremely dull after conquering all of Europe, I found little else to do other than watch time pass. I tried roleplaying but really nothing comes up to actually get you into the idea that you are doing such even with mods.

Oh wow, I had no idea you could form the Byzantine Empire and Babylon in Vic2 That is funny.
Oh wow, I had no idea you could form the Byzantine Empire and Babylon in Vic2 That is funny.
Hah, how?
Is there any way to play Paradox games without Hamachi? My computer's a bitch and every once and a while refuses to let things work. Like Hamachi and the CK2-to-EU3 converter.
Hah, how?
You need all the initial Greek cores and GP status to form Byzantine via decision. Iraq needs to be GP to form Babylon
Iraq needs to be GP to form Babylon
Did they add that just so everyone would say "They can't be serious with this shit." while checking the game files?
