My fucked up realm, ladies and gents.
To expand on the final picture of the "interesting story,"
Basically, as some of you may remember the Arpad dynasty was kicked out of Hungary and moved to the Byzantines. The greatest man our dyansty has ever seen, (besides his great-grandfather Bonuslo "Ironside") Ludwig the Wise was reduced to a lowly one province King, due to the Heretical Roman Empire. His son, Hartwig, a fat and greedy bastard had taken over the Empire at just the perfect time when his Grandmother died. Ludwig knew the Heretical Roman Empire would come crashing down on him, so he instructed his son to create a Kingdom for themselves, this of course became Serbia. Once the HRE destroyed the last of Ludwig's holdings, he moved in with his son in Constantinople. Now Ludwig was working behind the scenes as a Puppeteer Prince-Father.
Before I continue, I have to explain, the Arpad's were strict Catholics. Ludwig was one of the remaining humanists of the type who believed all religions could live together peacefully. He let many of his vassals stay Orthodox is they so chose to do so when he was still King of Hungary. Hartwig, the incompetent fool his son was, refused to convert when he took over the Byzantines, having so much audacity as to take his father's personal Bishop with him to become his Chaplin. Anyways, Hartwig's vassals revolted as Ludwig suspected. Ludwig forced his son into submission and no blood was shed. The Arpad dynasty was now happily living as Catholic kings of Serbia, while Orthodox neighbors eyed them angrily. One thing, even the Orthodox Christians could not deny, was Ludwig's sheer talent and skill. He was sharp as a sword and strong as an ox, even as he was reeling into middle age. The new vassals of the Byzantines revolted and won, placing Ludwig on the throne.
Ludwig graciously thanked his new vassals, and eyed the Heretical Roman Empire. He wanted to take back Hungary, and now he had an army that could do it. Unfortunately, not all of Ludwig's vassals were pleased to see him take the reigns of the Byzantines. As a second revolt was brewing, Ludwig convinced the rebels to let him stay as Count of Constantinople and he would not make anymore attempts on the throne. Later, as Ludwig was settling down, he remarried, a nice Orthodox Greek and converted to Orthodoxy, ensuring peace in Constantinople.
But...do you all remember Hartwig? The evil bastard of a son alienated himself from his father, sticking to his Kingdom of Serbia, priding himself on being a strong Catholic surrounded by heretical Greeks. Eventually, his lands were seized and he was reduced to a Duchy in Greece. This duchy has remained there, throughout all generations down to the current remaining Arpad in Constantinople, Maximos. The Arpads are split, Catholics living in the Aechean Islands and basically all of Greece, versus the Arpads living in Constantinople. Unfortunately for Maximos, who had been planning to systematically wipe the Catholic Arpads out, the game ended.
And so ends the story of the Arpads, the most valiant and brave dynasty in the world and lore of my game.

It kinda speeds up the longer you do it; if you get enough counties you can usurp a duchy, and with enough duchies you can usurp the kingdom.
Also nothing feels more tense then getting 100% warscore against the Shia Caliphate the moment a 13k stack is almost at your last 7k stack.

So I was playing a modern day mod for Victoria 2 and I pulled a Germany as Poland.
Ukraine and Hungary declared war on me after I annexed Slovakia in order to dismantle my military and they won.
I went into some hardcore debt to other countries and eventually the fascists rose up in my country.

i grabbed quest for the new world as fast as i could, went straight for american indias and conquered two provinces from them, went full free trade on sliders and traded to get income. portugal landed near me and i waited a few years and then i westernized full in a matter of a few years (with two provinces and 400+ income you recover stability quickly)

i play with inflation on
i use a -0.1 inflation/year advisor to finance most of my stuff... only time i got inflation was to get mercenaries to conquer the native nations, but i quickly got that down to 0
