MM Looked pretty shit to be honest.
Well. It was canceled because even by paradox interactive standards, it was broken and not worth a release because of the massive amount of work required to fix it.
When Paradox Interactive calls you out on a broken release, you know you fucked up.
Still. I liked what it was aiming for. Always kinda had hopes for MM, despite all the flaws.

In V2 I almost single handedly beat off both France and Russia as Italy in a great war, Eventually I had to capitulate though not because I'd lost ground but because I was about to run out of money, even then I won almost every battle with roughly a 30:1 ratio but just fucking downed in Russia's manpower.

Can someone help me figure out how to dipploannex or whatever a nearby region? I'm trying to start as Cesare Borgia in 1503 and he starts with just Siena. I want to be able to politically seize territories when my army is otherwise indisposable.

force vassalization ASAP. Just keep trying until you get it.

With the same 3 requirements as above, force annexation.
You get a higher chance with both if you sphere some minors, because that gives a diplomacy boost. A ruler with high diplomacy skill naturally has a higher chance as well, so don't be afraid to use some advisers.
If you want to unite Italy, you'll have to play a mean political game. Conquer some through weapons, keep lots of vassals and try to get Personal Unions with Naples/Sicily once you can.
Wow holy fuck. The Songs for the Republic are fucking awesome. Seriously, it's 2 dollars, buy them. Don't get the Mediteranian portraits though. They suck.
Anyway. I made the Republic of Holland. To make a Republic, you need to grant a mayor a county and then a duchy.
