Goddamn, East vs West makes EuIII look like checkers.
For the Republic DLC:
Can I make my son a Patrician rather than my bro-in-law? Can I make my son my heir rather than the same bro-in-law?
Yeah. Go to Award honorary title and select designated heir.
I've been super breeding my heirs and now they all have a minimum of 15 for each skill :v:
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]
It's important to get the genius trait in and breed genius with genius.
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]
and have them tutored by genius's with a 4 star skill.

Purbread kings, with just a lil bit of incest. [SUP]justabit[/SUP]
[editline]16th January 2013[/editline]
Seriously though, does anyone have a link for a working EUIII to VickyII converter?
Patrician families breed like fucking maniacs. So I mean, incest is kinda possible. Most of the time it will just be with like third cousins, so it's not like it's a big deal.
Funny thing though. On one branch of my noble family, there's a recessive hunchback/midget gene.

So I just realized I have EUIII without all of the expansions. God it's ugly.
most disappointing thing about the new EvW screens? They changed the diplomacy button :(

EvW is probably going to replace Victoria 2 for me. I'll be on that like a fly on shit.

Holy shit I've been playing a republic all this time and I had no idea you could do this. This would've been good to know a hundred years ago.
Been playing the Republic, fucking hilarious.
Me being Venice I already took pieces around the mediterranian and for Venice and am planning to take the boot of Italy.
I like how when you have a lot of trading posts and you select one, the blue line showing your trade empire really lags everything up.
It feels so good forming an Empire in CK2.
Also I accidentally gained all of Southern Italy during a Crusade for Sicily... Yay? Time to spend the next 20 years of my reign consolidating my holdings to make sure the entire thing doesn't erupt in civil war once my heir comes into power.
Also just how bad of an idea is it to give Kingdoms to people as Emperor? Should I just hold onto them, or pass 'em out?

Sicily IS all of lower italy.
As far as kingdom titles> I would hold on to them. First of all they give tons of prestige (relative over time), and second of all holding them prevents other people from forming them. On the other hand, you'll constantly get dukes trying to fabricate claims. There's no opinion penalty though, like there is for holding too many duke titles. The prospect of a single dude holding an entire kingdom's worth of vassals does scare me, both because they can hate me by accident (whereas dukes are entirely replacable) and because it gives me so little control inside the kingdom.
It might also reduce the total pool of dudes you can call upon for your court. I know my late-game court is also chocked full of 20+ dudes simply because I have so many vassals I can call upon.
I'm playing CK2 and why in the world does a war stop when a ruler dies or gets overthrown in a different war? I mean, if it's a war for a claim or a holy war, it really doesn't make any sense. I mean, at least give us the option to declare war on the new liege while keeping the settlements you occupy occupied.
I just finished a decade-long war that encompassed two Jihads of the most powerful Caliphates in the game against me (the united Empire of Spain) and pretty much all of Christendom.
10k stacks were being thrown around like toys, I completely lost track of intrigue or family matters, the entire South of Spain has been devastated... But I won, I finally won.
Goddamn I almost don't want to play anymore, that was just such a perfect conclusion to a game. Still, it's only 1137, so I got plenty of time to continue expansion (since I own all of Iberia, all of Southern Italy and soon all of Hungary due to marriage laws, I guess I should set my sights on consolidation and preparing for conquests of North Africa/Egypt for my next guy.)

Behold, my Muscovy ---> Russia game.
Fun facts:
Austria is #2 in everything in the world (sans standing army size). Their ruler is also a member of my dynasty. Austria and Russia used to be huge bros when they were containing the Bohemian menance, but some thing or another caused the alliance to lapse. Shortly after Austria (with its former Baltic holdings), went to war with Russia, and they've never been allied since. Their relations have recently improved, though, and royal marriages between the two branches are common again.
Bohemia, Denmark, and Bryzantium are all Orthodox. Bryzantium (especially) and Denmark have made some progress at converting provinces (like how I converted THEM. With fire and sword.). Bohemia's done nothing, religiously. They do keep getting into wars with me, though.
In the East, I have recently finished wiping out the horde countries. This may not have been the best of ideas, as now my colonization has slowed to a crawl. Oh well. I'll finish expanding along the Pacific coast, then colonize the "DMZ" with Korea, and clean up the borders there.
Bringing me to the last point of interest: India. India will be Russian. It simply will be. I have already conquered to the coast of the Indian ocean, and am waiting mostly for infamy to wear off before I go conquer the whole subcontinent. It's a lot of provinces, though. Not sure I will be able to do it before game end. I have invested in cabinet (-1 infamy), a max-level advisor (-0.3 infamy), an embassy (-0.4), and have a 8 diplo king (-0.8), but it's still gonna be roughly 1 province a year.
Why 1 province a year? Because Glorious Russia is an absolute monarchy. Which only remember in circa 1700 (200 some years after westernization), that it could formalize weights and scales and measures if it put a national focus on its capital. Oops. That's a lot of lost tax income...
Anybody want to see some of the ledger graphs, give a shoutout in the thread. Would be happy to post statistics.
Just found something fucking hilarious with CK2 addition 1.09.
If you're going into a crusade against the Fatimids for jureausalem or any place for that matter don't rush Jureausalem, instead bumrush their capital and assault it, most of your allies will hold off the Fatimids or occupy their time. When you take their capital completely it automatically maxes out to 100. I was laughing hard.
I wana do a CKII-EUIII-Vicky2 playthrought but i can't pick a nation. What should i play?

If it's a large empire, like the Byzantine Empire if they get Italy and such, I usually make region based administration kingdoms with a member of my family holding each title. I also make it so that it's part of a different branch each time, so they don't all have claims on each other.

I shit you not. Once a crusade for jerusalem ended within the one week period it takes for the peace message to be sent, because the pope died. So it was inconclusive. Even though it was at fucking

Usually if you capture the enemy leader, it goes to 100. Not sure if he did that or not.
Also tip of advice. If your court chaplin comes to you with a hitler stash and a heresy, just send him to prison and demand religious conversion, then put him back on council.

Taking non-targeted crusader provinces don't affect the warscore that much, only your contribution to the crusade itself.

Reminds me of a time I was an ally with Hungary against Cuman.
They were at -60% Warscore and still dropping even with my help, but by a nice turn of events I was able to capture the Khan (which caused the war to end and me promptly executing the bastard since he didn't have the 250 gold for ransom.)
Always try to capture the faction leader, it's an easy win if you pull it off.
Patrician families breed like fucking maniacs.
I can confirm this.
In less than a year I've had two sets of twins and about 4 more children
I wana do a CKII-EUIII-Vicky2 playthrought but i can't pick a nation. What should i play?
Sweden or Norway. Fairly secluded, easy empire to form early on.

Been one hell of a run so far, with 200 years still left to go. Will Nicolas The Cruel be a Caesar, or an Alexander?
So as the Republic of Bedford, I've seized control of England and formed it into the Serene Republic of England as part of a Papal-backed coup. This was within one generation of William the Conquerer coming into power.
I'm not looking forward to placating all these pissy feudal lords and as always the internal borders of England are a mess but I'm excited that I've made England into a trading republic now.
I wana do a CKII-EUIII-Vicky2 playthrought but i can't pick a nation. What should i play?
Playing from CKII to EUIII is terrible, if you're lucky and technology actually goes through correctly you still have to deal with the fact that you have absolutely no improvements in your provinces (try building forts with 5 magistrates a year when you own all of Europe, even the AI couldn't handle it). If you want to continue with only one nation, remain small and try and split other nations in half so you can expand in EU3.
Y'know, I wonder what a trading republic that owned all territory on the map would be like.
so i decided to edit a game where castille, england, bohemia, austria and ottomans were all steppe hordes
