Slight problem in Republic expansion.
I was the count of Wessex (and a patrician). I recently lost the election, with the successor demanding my title.
I refused, so the doge of Somerset declares war on me (his vassal) and then immediately the game ended with the message "You are now ruler of a republic, and cannot play any longer".
Furthermore, the game did not pause, and kept on playing behind the final score screen, before then the thing froze, the menu scrolled itself up and down, followed by a CTD.
Maybe giving up my title is a good idea after all.

So. In EU3, has anyone ever actually managed to get the Byzantine empire to survive, outside of an MP game. I specify SP, since like nobody wants to be your ally, and if they do, they're probably dealing with the golden horde.

Using a galley fleet you can trap the ottomans on the wrong side of the straits and win a war and from there you conquer minors

I'm going to transfer into EU3 with this Greece (It's main religion is Bogomilism) The Slavs refuse to die out though, there's 2 Vlach, 2 Serb, and 2 Bulgarian provinces that just refuse to accept their Greek overlords.
I like how the HRE doesn't have complete control of Sicily, and yet the capital is just on the place surrounded by it. From a logical perspective, that's fucking terrible :v:

When I started my converted CK2-EUIII, Ireland was in Africa and Hindu while Leinster was in Arabia and Muslim.

Also, why don't you have an empire title?
I've rejected the Byzantine Empire after a religious split. (for a long while I was hoping to leave it in the East in EU3 to let it do its own thing but it fell apart.) I've slowly been expanding Greek territory though, and I'm hoping the De Jure additions will make it so I don't have fight rebels constantly in the areas around Greece in EU3.
My final goal for this game is to annex Croatia and kick Venice out of the Balkans.
I also took Egypt and it's become apart of the Kingdom as well; half of the Egyptians are Greek now.

I don't make them. I just let the land be absorbed into my Kingdom.
Serbia, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Anatola are all basically apart of Greece now.
I used princes with claims and gave them counties or baronies to get big chunks of land. It's how I got most of Ukraine and Georgia.

In Europe, chaos reigns. The insane Boy Emperor of Russia called for a crusade, smashing smaller states apart and breaking the Holy Roman Empire over his knee. Dozens of states were forcibly converted, and pockets of orthodoxy now exist throughout the continent. In the east, a string of buffer states which are wholly orthodox-aligned exist...
Final income for the whole Russian Empire was something like 22,000 according to the ledger. Russia had 280,000 men under arms, with 420,000 reservists. They were also the most professional army by far, about 20 techs ahead (in everything)... Russia was not helped by the Boy Emperor's crusades though, and lost hundreds of thousands of men in hard-won assaults and battles throughout europe, including an assault on a [B]level 6 fort[/B] in OPM Burgundy.
But Russia is prosperous, and will survive. Its single Center of Trade is worth an astounding six thousand ducats, and India's provinces produce spices and cotton worth thousands. The only concern within the borders is the multi-racial and ethnically diverse people that make up Russia's subjects...
Now I can't wait to see how this looks in Vicky 2. Someone link the converter again?
