I heard Ireland is the best faction for new pepole in CK2 correct?(friend trying to get into CK2 aswell.)
Yeah try the Duke of Leinster.
Tell me why you deserve it I have 1 dude on my friends list who has it on his wishlist but I don't speak to him THAT much so pitch me and if it's good we'll talk
nah it's cool, give it to a friend or something. I don't even know if i can run it, actually
Shit might as well start a Ireland game aswell considering how fucked my Polish run has gone whit all the rebellions and shit.
Playing Death and Taxes as Brandenburg. My vassals and I are fighting a war against France, who somehow conquered Mecklenburg and took one territory from Pomeranian. I just received war subsidies from a couple of countries. All dat money
-never mind-
CK2 expansion is pretty much confirmed to be the "Wrath of Odin" this picture was posted today on their facebook and they coined the term a while ago

Then, when we went on Crusade to take Outremer, the Germans were absolutely massacred at Constantinople and it left to me, the Duke of Aquitaine, and the Duke of Toulouse to finish the Holy War.
CK2 expansion is pretty much confirmed to be the "Wrath of Odin"
Damn it, all of the DLC was of interest to me up to this point, oh well.
Wait, they weren't destroyed. They're doing even better than they were before.
The way you said it before sounded extremely negative, as if they were back to one province and barely holding on, so I was just trying to be funny [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/A140zv4.jpg[/img_thumb] I went back to the auto-save before I declared my independence war and it turns out I actually had a strong claim on the Almoravid Sultanate! With so much rebellion all that it really took was one major battle at Malaqah and then I was able to capture the fortress and city at Seville. I imagine what happened was that my character burst into the palace and tossed him into the dungeons in one fell swoop. Too bad that I inherited his rebellions alongside his titles. I'm planning on only keeping Andalusia and Morocco and then either destroying Mauretania or passing it off to some loyal non-Almoravid dynasty Emir down there and forgetting about them.
Now, the Wrath of Odin, a Norse Focused DLC? Interesting. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline]
Damn it, all of the DLC was of interest to me up to this point, oh well.
Whats wrong with a Norse focused DLC?
Sweet christ, the king of aragon inherited france but took a while to make france his primary title, so a huge part of the map belonged to Aragon. The amount of bricks I shat upgraded my castle walls. That and the iberian peninsula is now controlled by the HRE and france because of a crusade. galicia, leon and castille were wiped out but navarra and aragon are still there. Well, navarra and the independent county of Alto Aragon
Whats wrong with a Norse focused DLC?
There's the possibiltiy it's a Pagan DLC and that they're just using the Norse as a sort of flagship example.
Now, the Wrath of Odin, a Norse Focused DLC? Interesting. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] Whats wrong with a Norse focused DLC?
It's less the Norse and more the Pagan, I'd take a Papal expansion DLC or something but a Pagan DLC just isn't interesting to me. Anything outside of the Mediterranean is beyond my interests anyway, I've literally never played any character/kingdom that wasn't on the coast of the Mediterranean or able to expand to it (like Mali moving up the African coast, not Ireland conquering the known world). I obviously just mean this in my opinion, there isn't anything wrong with Norse or Pagan DLC per se, I just might not buy it.
I've been waiting for a Pagan DLC for forever now. nothing tickles me pink more than defying the entire world of christendom and winning.
I've been waiting for a Pagan DLC for forever now. nothing tickles me pink more than defying the entire world of christendom and winning.
You must make a Pagan version of this.
CK2 expansion is pretty much confirmed to be the "Wrath of Odin"
That's the DLC I've been waiting for. I'm pretty sure it will make other pagans playable too since the only Norse factions in 1066 are a couple of non independant counties.
Does anyone own the recent IndieGala bundle? It's 3rd bonus is Victoria II, so if you have the bundle, check the page or something. I wish I bought it.

Mine fell apart into a bunch of angry Dukes and now they either spend their time fighting each other or being invaded my Muslims. Plus the Kingdom of Jerusalem rebelled and is now Greek Orthodox who's Queen is the daughter of the Fatmid Sultan.

I let a CKII game run on its own overnight, it crashed at 1404 Pretty broken up, countries in weird places. Also the King of Lithuania is Scottish, plus a lot of the rulers in the east and Middle East are Mongol

Updated my post with slightly better quality image and a map. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] The King of Egypt is Irish, heh. [editline]25th January 2013[/editline] I can't seem to find the Pope. Sweden controls Rome, and is the head of their Orthodox Church, but the Catholic church still lists a Pope. The Emperor of the HRE is Lollard, and heresey Faith.
Does anyone else think that paradox's whole CK2 DLC marketing scheme is a bit cheapo? I mean the content they dish out is worth the money, but for me it seems like a drain on my wallet to have to buy all the DLC just to be compatible with the mods and to feel like the game is complete. Don't get me wrong, I will surely buy all of them in time, but right now it's a big drain to dish out 10-15 dollars a month on a single game.
Here are the religions And the Republic trade zones. Gotland seems to control most.

The expansions add vaunted new features while generally being cheap (aztec DLC on sale day one for $5) and most of the fixes/improvements coming to the free version, just disabled without the DLC. They can have my money some of this stuff is fantastic... even if I never use the aztec DLC
It says there's still 4 days left until ti ends.
Oh, I thought it ended. I better pick it up then.

And instead either come with the game, or in patches? It's kindof strange to have bought a game and paid more for the DLC than the game itself.

New mechanics, artwork, etc. costs money to make and I don't think paradox could've released so much via free patch.

But expensive. Also, I bought the game for around 30 bucks if I remember right, and then I bought Aztec, Rome, Islam, Ruler Designer, and soon I will buy The Republic, and I bought all these off sale. More than 30 bucks already. Also, this pic, and this is kindof why I started this discussion.
