Take an Italian county/duchy and break away from the HRE and form the Kingdom of Italy-Sicily.
run on its own without any interference from me.. Hopefully.
That didn't last long

I used the command "claim" on the Papal States, which made the Emperor of the HRE Pope to any Christian in his Realm, then he conquered the Papal States, which made him Pope of everything, also changed his name to Pope Martin IV
[editline]26th January 2013[/editline]
Oh lord, I just turned the Papacy into something that can be Inherited. the heir to the HRE's info says he is the heir the Papacy
Became Hitler's butt buddy as Nationalist Spain, thing were going well until these giant British doom stacks came from Gibraltar. I think I lasted all of 2 weeks.
Has anyone ever had the Pope have a daughter in one of their games?

One Pope of mine had like three bastards while on Crusade. Then he died of some sexual disease.
Fucking Byzantines embargoing my trade. I lost 12 trade posts as Venice, took a huge hit to my income.

That's why I usually favor mercantilism over free trade, although I appreciate it's a lot more viable if you're using an expansionistic strategy rather than a more peaceful one. There's worse ways to go, though, considering you start off with one of the most valuable CoTs in Europe.

Think he's talking about CK2.

Wrong game, it's CK2.
It's oddly hilarious to get an Empire that grows so massive that count/count or duke/duke wars don't even register for you until you bother to look at who's fighting for what.
It's like they think they're playing the Game of Thrones, but in actuality they're just playing the Game of Booster Seats. Speaking of Empires, Spain has grown significantly larger, largely because I managed to get a claim on Scotland and Turov.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nEba9k8.jpg[/t]
Like, 90% of the growth in England has been due to the current King of England, Richard, who I've been wanting oh so badly to kill, but I've decided it's best to just placate him with gifts and autonomy.
Is the republic dlc for CK2 worth getting?
Take an Italian county/duchy and break away from the HRE and form the Kingdom of Italy-Sicily.
Well, started out as a lowly count and after years of marriage and killing I managed to secure my son's place atop the duchy of Modena. Things have been relatively smooth for awhile now...The HRE breaks into war every-so-often. I need to really bring together a bunch of people for an Independence faction if I even want a chance.
Pisa is doing amazing in my game though, they've expanded to Africa and are fighting for territory on the boot of Italy.

Why is Sardinia defender of the catholic faith
isn't dof mostly a money check anyways?
it's easy to see why a small nation might get it considering they tend to rake in the bux, especially if they are semi-isolated.

You need more prestige than the previous DoTF though, which is kinda impressive for tiny nations to get

not if the previous dotf dun goof'd.
not if the previous dotf dun goof'd.
that's true I guess. In that case Sardinia will get booted exactly 24 months after becoming DoTF
that's true I guess. In that case Sardinia will get booted exactly 24 months after becoming DoTF
this happens all the time in my games. some power fucks up, loses their prestige, then a smaller rich nation takes dotf and then gets booted after 2 years.
So, Paradox is teasing something for Vicy 2

Industrial Revolution maybe?
Oh my goodness, please yes.
I hope it adds more political types and a better Great War mechanic.
One of the political types I had in mind was Theocracy, and would only gain popularity if Communist/Socialist were in power too long. Basically a dictatorship, no other parties in the ruling house, and the flag would have either: Cross, Islamic Moon, Hindu Symbol, etc. in place of most of the flag.
Considering this

Maybe something related to World War 1?
I hope it fleshes out revolutions more. Seeing everyone capitalist/monarchy all the time makes me cringe.

It would never happen, but seeing EUIV's trade system in Vic2 would be perfect.
I also want factories to honestly help. If you're super hardcore/playing on a very high difficulty, it might be a challenge, but they were really just there to improve your industrial score.

It always irked me how you never actually got any income from the factories in your nation.
According the FAQ thread for EvW, these are the start dates, 1946 / 1948 / 1950 / 1961 / 1979 / 1991
They've said the end date is 1991, so it must end at the end of 1991.
EvW must have a pseudo World in Conflict scenario or I will be greatly disappointed.

1991 could be a hypothetical "Endgame" scenaro, where war is immediately kicked off and you've to win it a few months... or everyone loses. If you know what I mean.
1991 is the Gulf War i believe, saw it in a screenshot.

it could be also possible that it's a wrap up scenario, since the one they've shown is about the gulf war. they might also make it an extended endgame that handles the collapse of the eastern bloc and yugoslavia, and lets the player decide if he wants the west to topple everything over, or have the east duct tape itself and assert dominance.
