Put your focus into building up your demesne and focus on developing military organisation tech when you are at that stage too.
You can abuse your vassals (slowly) increasing manpower to build a standing army to keep a chokehold on your Empire.
As Britannia I eventually ended up with a standing army of 100,000 men by the 1300s.
If you have a kingdom. No reason to distribute other king titles. If you have an empire, distribute the king titles to your First heir once he comes of age, so the titles are kept in the family and yadayada.

My favorite AAR, right next to the Bulgaria SA one.
What's this about king titles being given up?
You guys using gavelkind or something? Primogeniture for life
Primogeniture is for babies. Real men use election succession.

I try my best to make sure my heir doesn't get any titles. If he isn't in my court then I'll have a hard time controlling him for things like education and marriage. In my current game, for example, I pressed and won my son's weak claim for the kingdom of France when my ruler was 30ish. I figured he would die in a few decades, and I would become my son for an additional easy kingdom. About 40 years later, my king finally died at the age of 77, and I became my great-grandson who is a shy coward because I couldn't get my son to let me tutor or marry off himself or his kids after he became independent.

Yeah, I know about that one. Good read, but I like to wait until AAR's are complete so I can read them in one 1-5 hour long session.
Does anyone know of any good complete AAR's for ANY paradox grand strategy games?
I should write an AAR.
I once saved about once every decade of a EU2 and Vicky playthrough as Portugal, where due to my inexperience I ended up running a vast inefficient empire that fell apart (but remained cohesive) and then spent a few big wars with Austria (my arch nemesis).

Finally I can let out my inner Edward Longshanks on smelly Scottish peasants. I've wanted to burn and pillage the countryside since day one.

I zoom out from Scotland to know what's happening in the rest of the world and I see this:

I forsee widespread revolt happening in the near future. The HRE can barely govern itself to begin with, let alone when you've got all the petty french lords to contend with as well.
Can someone give me some advice on how to properly command units in HoI3. I've been using AI command for most my units and just setting objectives, but it doesn't work half the time and the other half my units are just extraordinarily stupid.

Post a picture of your command branch, and say what the majority of units is and what tech are you focusing on. Also terrain map and operation plan if you feel like it.
Dang, I never realised how much of the world was covered in desolate wastelands such as the Pacific Northwest and the African interior

Desolate to typical human civilization and agricultural tech at the time. Far from lifeless.

yea 2047 was a hard year.
It bothers me that more Paradox games don't give autonomy and real populations to the supposedly uninhabited places of the Earth.
Why can't I muster the ragged Bedouin forces of the Sahara into a cohesive and mighty empire if I have the prowess? Or colonize England as a ravaging force of Australian Aborigines who were managed well enough to have cannons by 1600? :v:
I like how Novgorod is in exile in Canada.

You should write an AAR, your post on the ACW in Mass Debate was some good writing (not saying you should style your AAR in any certain way, tho.)

what happens when you remove or lengthen the end date for eu3? once you get to 99 tech doesn't all the money just pour into minting? i cheated my tech to 99 once and it seemed to fuck up my empire since all my monthly income was being invested into higher inflation.
In CK2, what's a good character to play in the byzantine empire? I was thinking armenia minor or trebizond and working my way up to emperor, but I'm still new so

Make sure you continue to copy paste the empty techs, if you don't the game crashes because there isn't any more techs to research.

My university statement and creepypasta I did was apparently decent as well, so I might as well do so.

disable inflation game mechanic (IMO it's just an annoyance, and the AI does TERRIBLE with it.) and do what kamikaze said and mess with the tech .txt files to increase amount/timeline of tech.
This was so awesome to watch. The Kings of Croatia (Waldensian) and Sicily (Catholic) both received claims on the Byzantine Empire and both went to war for it at the same time. While Croatia was busy slugging it out with the Romans in Serbia the Sicilians landed at Thrace and conquered everything and managed to take the throne. Then the new Emperor had to fight off the Croatians and as soon as he made peace the Byzantine Empire switched into the Latin Empire.

And now the civil war begins.
Damn I've never seen anything interesting happen with Byzantine ocassionally they will conquer Kebabia and then let the Golden Hored conquers everything north of them

Earlier when I first bought the game, - no expansions - I saw the byzantines completely collapse and eventually anatolia and thrace were absorbed by The Ecumenical Patriarch (orthodox Papal States)
