So my latest king is cruel, craven, deceitful and arbitrary, and his nickname is "the Dragon." He's also possibly the most unpopular King I've ever had. Half the country rebelled when he came into power under a regency and I lost virtually all my overseas territories. He's also been excommunicated twice.
All you need now is for him to get killed by a pissed off Mongol.

EDIT Crap i cut them and they're still too big for the forum. EDIT 2: Anyone interested in starting a large facepunch mp game of eu3?
Tiera Azteca?
I have the game in spanish, it means Aztecs. Btw: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1184662?p=35993843#post35993843
Tierra means Earth, doesn't it? So it's like, The World of the Aztecs.
I would play Eu3 games but I'm not good at them. I can't even run a competent military in most Paradox games.
so I did a HOI3 scenario that Spain Joined the Axis, so most of the war the UK kept trying to invade southern Spain through Gibraltar so the Soviet Union liberated Europe so now they're all communist. Only Axis countries left are Brazil, Italy and Japan. Japan has most of main land Asia, all of India and the Philippians. The main bulk of the war started in 1940 [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540675904054462162/43150C02E9714796146A664D32FA401CD95D665B/[/t] [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540675904055350054/A3BF59558F6EEF0350D33A3EC1919DD6AB0C7DF0/[/t] [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540675904055356876/CFC35F43039562F6BA421839EEA393FA0B8CE1FE/[/t] [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/540675904055354566/CBF095D36120AA5F0D66505737A17F80BE1CC46A/[/t]
I find it kind of amusing how Danzig is still part of Soviet Poland.
I find it kind of amusing how Danzig is still part of Soviet Poland.
Actually soviet Poland is that little Pink area below where Poland should be, the soviets conquered Poland before the start of full on WW2, but some world event happened that caused Poland to exist again as that little area.
Anyone interested in starting a large facepunch mp game of eu3?
I would love to, but I'm in the middle of a ungoing mp game myself.
Any tips for expanding in Crusader Kings II? Can't seem to find and opportunity to do so.
Any tips for expanding in Crusader Kings II? Can't seem to find and opportunity to do so.
Post a screenshot of your current situation. Who are you playing as?
I just had my son assassinated in order for my Norse grandson to take the throne. Time for some heresy.
I would play Eu3 games but I'm not good at them. I can't even run a competent military in most Paradox games.
It's pretty easy once you get used to it, actually. In the beginning build armies of 12-20 cavalry(depending on the size of the enemy), because cavalry in early game beats infantry in a 1:1 fight. Keep armies of like 3 infantry each and use them to siege other provinces. Later in the game I use a ratio of 2:1 infantry to cavalry(since infantry gets the fire stat which makes a big difference), and a 2:1:1 infantry, cavalry, artillery for my siege armies(although they kick ass in land battles too, but are slow as shit). Also, when you fight wars, don't focus on sieges, keep your armies mobile and chase down enemies. Once the enemy armies are decimated, concentrate on high value(lots of manpower and income) provinces first so they can't raise an army in the middle of the war. Once you win a few sieges it's mostly just managing the sieges and then waiting until warscore is high enough to get whatever your war goal was. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline] Also recruit generals right after you finish fighting battles. Your army tradition will probably be highest then(you gain it from winning battles), so you can get better quality generals, which makes a GIANT difference in war. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline]
I just had my son assassinated in order for my Norse grandson to take the throne. Time for some heresy.
This will be really hard unless you are pretty big already. However, heresy is fucking awesome for expanding since you get a holy war CB on all those Catholic Kingdoms and Duchies. You can practically take over the map if you do it right. Holding onto it will be a problem, though ;)
Don't forget the most important tip of all; tech rushing the first national idea to get Military Drill. That idea itself can prove to tip the balance in your favor considerably. Also, if you get the Battlefield Commissions NI and win plentiful of battles, you can easily get your army tradition to shoot up and get godtier generals easier. Scorch Earth can save your skin in many cases if you're fighting a defensive war or you think you're starting to lose. Just be sure to wait until the advancing armies take heavy casualties before you think about launching a attack, though.

And if so, what qualifies as a full conversion? It seems all my priest does is convert members of my court.

A mistake I used to make was trying to declare war on Dukes and Counts, but if it's a full Kingdom you have to declare war on the King(or Emperor with HRE and Romans). Also, make sure the person you want to declare war on isn't the same type of heresy as you. For England, Castille, Portugal, Hansa, or states like Tuscany, I always get QFTNW first, since any disadvantage in military strength is made up for with the head start on colonial holdings. It just depends on your country really. A country like Moscow who fights mostly on land would benefit more from land NI's, while a state like Novgorod might get more benefit from an economic NI so they can milk their advantageous economic position.
Well, my family is all converted to Norse, but I still am unable to declare war on any neighboring counts. They're all independent realms as well so my only guess is Pagan doesn't get the benefits Cathar does.

You should check and see if you can declare war on someone like the Caliphate or Seljuks. Are you independent? If you have a liege and crown laws are set high enough it blocks you from making war on other realms.

I also tried seeing if I could declare war upon Muslims, I cannot. It instead says that I don't have a CB required to do so. Basically, I can't declare war on anyone, but I know they can wage holy war on me.

You should be able to declare war on anyone who isn't pagan.
I'll simply restart using Druze as my method.
Has anybody done an AAR for Ireland in Vicky 2? I might do that, though it would be probably boring as I barely expand and mostly focus on the politics and economy of my country.
You know what Paradox interactive needs to make? A game about a space empire. No really, maybe the map could even be proceduraly generated and you could watch the kickass space-battles rather than them simply being implied like the rest of Paradox's games.

As in, depending on how it calculates your battles it would put different chunks of text into it. Of course that would also get old after a while I suppose but if it let your describe your ships, kind of like those pen and paper ad lib things then it could stay kind of interesting.

Here's hoping the new update for CK2 didn't break any of the mods I'm using. I'm currently running CKplus along with Flavorful Titular Titles and while its giving me the option to form the Frankish Empire, clicking the button does nothing so I'm beginning to suspect it might have done.
Can someone link me to the CK2 Westeros mod? I've googled it but it hasn't yielded any results yet. I thought it was out already but I can't find anywhere to download it.
