You should do a handsoff AAR, there is one megacampaign handsoff AAR going on, but for me it's still some of the most interesting and sometimes funny stuff to observe the AI.

In Crusader Kings 2, I have occasionally noticed mercenary bands that are ethnically me will sometimes join wars as allies without me hireing or asking. Why and how do they do this?
My MEIOU hands off game is going bad, it keeps randomly freezing, I've had to set Auto save to monthly instead of yearly.

I had one game where as a Republic, one of my sons became the head of the largest mercenary group. So yeah, I pretty much expanded a lot as Venice, seeing how I could have a cheap as hell force that is large.
It would spawn random guys with the family name and continue to be able to use them.

It's such bullshit watching an entire CK2 game and then having the converter break because the Golden Horde had a war of independence in the last week of the game and it passed the independent realm limit.

There's a way to get around that, it involves adding countries to the country tag list that are existing but unused/unfilled/not in the game at the start of eu3.

At some point Great Britain formed, but it seems to have collapsed, the White territory in England is the Papal State, the Emperor of France has a French name, but an Irish last name. That purple west of Turkey is the Roman Empire, and France has some territory in NA.

I haven't played MEIOU since they added fragmentation for England, is the pink there Cornwall or York or something? Now those borders look quite a lot nicer than before, but my biggest pet peeve with that game is when Genoa ends up beating the Blue Horde and expands into southern Russia as is happening there. I always end up tag switching in order to get them to abandon the territory before 1400.

I didn't do it myself because i'm terrible and just threw all the infantry divisions into direct subordination of the Berlin theater HQ... but obviously they need corps/army HQs and I really don't like doing that

Playing as Germany I usually like to have around 4 theaters at one time. And once I get deep into Africa and Russia, I usually end up with more.
Okay nope I reorganized all my units myself and it's still crashing after I turned off AI unit reorg
