Due to marrying Druze, even though the religion of Ireland is Cathar heresy, I'm now the Sultanate of Ireland.
During a war of total annihilation between the European nations and the Golden Horde, I was pleased to know that my King of Norway still had time for the finer things in life, like fucking his wife and having children.
While present day Narvik is being over run.
And the Golden Horde cracked the HRE defenses.

Current situation of the mp game I'm in, it's about 1560s' or so.
That green in Persia is Ireland. He moved his capital there and plans to form either the Mughals or Persia.
One thing I don't like about HOI3 (which was probably fixed in a mod somewhere) is you can not release Korea as one Country. You can only release it as North Korea and South Korea separately

Ohh the 3.06 patch looks nice, modded map (from the Community map team) new console commands for me to abuse.

If one can run EU3 in the lowest settings without lag, can one run CK2 in the lowest settings without/with small lag?
CK2 is far more graphically intensive. I mean neither of them are that difficult to run, but if EU3 is giving you any trouble, I'd bet CK2 will probably not run very well at all.
We should organize a CK2 multiplayer session sometime.

Yes, I like that idea. How long do these games usually last?
Depends on the speed and the date we can reach before people get bored. But it lasts multiple sessions and can be continued later on from the savegame file on the hoster.
Depending on when the session's going to be I might be interested in playing some CK2 online as well, as I've never done so before.
I'm also working on a Tuscany AAR. I'll post a link up when it gets uploaded.
I only have Darkest Hour and Victoria II.
Do you guys recommend CK2 and EU3? They look alright.

They're two fairly different games primarily due to the heavy RPG elements in CK2. I personally love both the games but I think I like CK2 more and if you're interested in these sorts of games then it's probably worth getting.
All I can suggest is you read some AARs or something to see what an average game is like.
I feel like 3/4ths of the expansions should have been contained in the original games for most games.
The Design-a-ruler DLC really should have been packaged with the original game.
I don't mind too much that they didn't put the Design-a-ruler thing into the original game. I kind of like the history aspect like you have to stick with what you were put with (unless you like assassinating your heirs). Do you get to completely customize it and make it all good traits, or do you get a max number of points that you can assign until you run out, so it stays balanced?
I do think the extra character portraits and the sigils should have been included originally though.
I haven't toyed around it too much, but the ability to completely customise a character's coat of arms and appearance is pretty neat. It doesn't just add extra portraits and COAs, it lets you build them from a big bunch of components.

The positive points cost age, and the negative points reduce age so you cant pick the only positive ones or else you'll end up with a 50+ year old ruler at the start.
How ever a lot of the negative ones go away after a while so... Its meh.
So have you guys been talking about War of the Roses at all?
Sooo, what good, suggested mods are there for Crusader Kings 2? I googled around but didn't try hard enough or something. I figure since it's new they aren't easy to find I guess.
[editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
p.s. any tips for runnin' shit in CK2? don't anger the church/vassals but tax/levy the shit out of cities?

If you register the game on the paradox forums, you can see a subforum full of mods. Loads of goodies there. CK2 plus seems good, as well as other minor mods. Just look aroudn in what has a lot of pages.
I am, and checked there. For me the forum appears to be empty, but I hope I'm just lookin' in the wrong place.
[editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
durr, need to register the game. thought you meant register on the forums themselves.
[editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
thanks
Ran CK2, can't run it for shit.
All because of the 3D map. The 2D map of EU3 is way better.
So what's the low-down on a mutliplayer game of CK2? I'm up for it if anyone else is, although I've got shit to do over the next couple of days so whether or not I'm going to be able to take part or not is all a matter of scheduling.
As for suggested mods, check out CK2plus and friends and foes (they're not compatible last time I checked)
CK2plus ups the difficulty but also adds a lot of new features and is pretty neato, while Friends and Foes tweaks the traits system and makes it a little more dynamic and realistic as well as adding A LOT of new traits to the game.
EDIT: Oh lawdy my automerge
Trying a world conquest game as France...never has my infamy been 0 since the start of the game...

At one point my game was a big mess of mods so I have a few more recommendations, but the good thing about CK2plus is it combines a lot of them, making both cosmetic and gameplay changes. It comes with an optional addon that starts every character with one independent county at the year 50AD which makes for some very interesting games.

Well, I think it's safe to say England is fucked. Not only has all of Britain divided up into smaller states and counties, but they lost a lot of their territory in France as well (They used to own half of the France region but not they've been pushed out). This isn't even a civil war anymore, it's just all out chaos.
Believable worlds general?
Also Portugal is in control of half of the Iberian peninsula and owns Brittany in France.

Wow, what happened? If I had to guess I'd say their king ascended as a child and there was a load of revolts during the regency or they got excommunicated and the relations hit causes a mass revolt. Do you have any ideas as to what's caused the entire kingdom to collapse on itself?
France could probably use the oppurtunity to either seize the English lands around Normandy or even make forays on the Isles themselves.
