Sent. Looks like you have EU3 as well. With a few more people, maybe we can get a long term game going... if we last through CK 2.
I'd recommend starting at a later date, preferably something like 1204, when shit gets interesting and there's plenty of combat and intrigue to occur without having to not piss off at least three non-titular emperors.
Well, I'm running on a dual core CPU from a very long time ago, and I can run it consistently even with extending the end date 30 years. Sure it runs slower than vicky2, but I only play vicky2 on a 2x speed during wartime and 3x during peacetime, and I enable a ton of message settings to get a good idea of what I should do next and the state of the world.
Anyways, it runs fine for me. Sure the max speed runs half as slow but other than that..

I don't like slang and event desc's like "why johan :(" in games that are supposed to give you a relative sense of reality.

I realize I am being relatively aggressive with this post, and I don't mean to diss any other mods, this is all IMO. But.. Why isn't all that good?

Gotland, Masters of the North.
makes me proud to actually come from gotland
I come from the most pointless region in all of the Paradox-Interactive series.
Illinois.
Never have I seen a place less useful in anything other than another squat-spot for colonization in EU3.

There is no greater feeling than liberating Alsace-Lorraine and cutting down Germany in the process.
Playing Ck2, most the northern Russian territories are controlled by Greeks and Turks.

The Golden Horde just took over Poland. God help us all.
Guys, is it possible to establish an empire as any country in CK2?
Or is it only possible for certain countries?

You have to have one of the cultures that lie within the de jure empires, you can't just make one out of nothing... or have an Italian empire, which is lame.

Then is the Brittish Empire in Tuskin's post modded?
If so, what mod is that?

It is probably the empire of Brittania, under the cultural name of the English.
Then is the Brittish Empire in Tuskin's post modded?

Oh, I see, thanks.

I'm not so sure about vanilla, but in SWMH 2.0 you can theoretically create an Italian "Kingdom" as an empire, I always thought that was silly but considering how there's a few other Italian Kingdoms anyway it makes sense.

There is the kingdom of Italy and Sicily, together one would think they would make the Empire of Italy but I guess not...
Bit of a noob, but surely you can just fabricate de jure claims to create an Empire? Very time consuming aye, but would that not work?

You have to have the right culture to be emperor, whether you hold the land or not.
Except in elective empires, such as the HRE.
Eh, since I've already posted here, might as well post my map currently in CK2.
Actually it's my first time playing a paradox game (aways loved the medieval setting)
Here is Poland circa 1238:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/HXNlRrO.jpg[/t]
Things didn't look good, with Novgorod conquered by HRE, and the atrocity of Volga Bulgaria forming such a big kingdom, and the rise of Cumans didn't leave me any room to expand. And then was the Golden Horde approaching, quite grim indeed. Fast forward about 150 years later and we have this:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/aEOOEtl.jpg[/t]
Turns out Volga Bulgaria was pretty much occupied with succession crisises, uprisings, and falling apart. Golden Horde didn't go much farther than on the first screen, and then converted to Islam. The only real problem was Cumania, with no internal struggles, quite big army(bigger than mine anywas) and being pagan. Cumania was first to wage war against Poland, fortunately the king was allied with Hungary and the Byzantine Empire. Unfortunately the reinforcements wouldn't arrive before the enemy crossed border. Only throught superior military commanders, luck and better positions we have made a breakthrough, and with the allied forces joining in, we laid waste in Cumania. The rest was a cakewalk, with more holy wars than I could count. :v: Oh also Lithuania emerged few years earlier and has lands north of Poland, in the middle of HRE and where Genoa is supposed to be :v: :v:
Also byzzies got better. Sorry for the wall-o-text.
Europe, as of 1300

Seems about right

ish
I decided to force a bunch of unification decisions in EU3 at the 1399 start so that Great Britain, Spain, HRE, Russia, etc are all formed. I'm playing as China and pushing westwards by eating up the horde, I can't wait to see what Europe looks like by the time we meet.
what affects the color of vassals in CK2?
armenia minor turned greenish when the seljuks captured it, but its still green after the byzantines took it back

Probably religon/culture

how do you force those?
how do you force those?
console annexed countries then triggered the decision in console
[editline]26th February 2013[/editline]
I also modified the renovatio imperii decision so that member states have to agree to it, then i just triggered it in the console as bohemia
however since the unification decision only gives cores on countries you border rather than the whole empire, only like one third of it is cored
Formed ireland (still only have like 50 something percent of the counties, working on it).
Now to hope my ruler survives 10 years so I can switch to an elective monarchy (lest my land be split up all over the place)
You have to have one of the cultures that lie within the de jure empires, you can't just make one out of nothing... or have an Italian empire, which is lame.
Can't you sack Byzantium and other areas and reform Rome though? :v:
I hope Heart of Darkness has rebel faction fighting in it.
It is highly unrealistic and generally kills the mood seeing different ideological rebels sitting in the same province. In EU3 you'd sometimes see Patriots and Nationalists fight eachother, so why not here?
Seeing communists and fascists occupying the same territory makes me shudder.
An unholy alliance.
