I am damned sure that Austria is fucked now. Their king is excommunicated, the entire country is Protestant (Despite the ruler being Catholic). I took over their vassals, made them give up Karnten to me, the country is infested with rebels and France just declared war on them and sent about 20,000 men to besiege Southern Austria. It can't survive this for sure.
How the fuck. And make a screenshot of your Yurop.
I love reading AAR (after-action reports) On the official forums where they try to write them as a detailed story.
I'm more of a fan of gameplay, historical report and diary AAR's rather than pure character-centered fanfictions with only one or two pictures from the game in the entire AAR. Those more belong to the CK series if anything. My personal favorites are the Lithuanian and Canadian AAR's on HoI3, Subcontinental Subtleties and Yamato Destiny on V2, and Abyssinia's Certain Doom on CK2.
Well this historical irony [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/540677806257612203/FCF3EEC7124ADCEB6B30CF8A21DAD52E259CF58A/[/t]
Bought CK2 - as it was on offer, how could I not? It seems like a great game, but I have tried three games now (each time as William the Bastard (gotta love that name)) and each time there are loads of uprisings. Even those who stay loyal to me end up hating me for some reason. I must be a complete bastard...
Just bought CK2, are there any guides available? First time ever playing the series.

I engage fleets with stupidly huge fleet of bombers and stukas every time they go up against my ships, I don't even have my first battleship built yet I am dominating the seas.

It's pretty historical, since William the Conqueror spent most of his life putting down rebellions after taking the English Throne. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_the_Conqueror#Consolidation Although an "Interesting Choice" according to CK2, William is a fairly difficult character to play.

Anyone have a certain strategy for this stupidly-large tech tree? What the Hell should I research first?
Nice to post the game you're playing. We can really help you that way.
Anyone have a certain strategy for this stupidly-large tech tree? What the Hell should I research first?
I'm assuming one of the Hearts of Iron games, right? The answer depends on which one, and what country you are, and what you want to achieve.

Well, I should also ask. What's a good list of mods I should get for HOI III? Any time mods that go back to right after WWI?
Tried playing CKII, coming from Europa and I'm still a bit confused. Thanks for posting the guides for CKII, guys. I'll read up and hopefully will figure out some more basic stuff. The relationship aspect makes it super interesting to me.
So me and my friend decided to play a multiplayer match of Europa Universalis III. All went well aside from this little incident: Brittany, who was at war with my friend, decided to attack one of my ports... [editline]10th June 2012[/editline] Also I got Papacy over England (My friend) somehow. It was 20% for him and 4% to me.
There should be a picture like this with Golden Horde too, it always gets gangraped.

There's a WW1 mod but I think it's slow in development or it probably died already.
CabooseRvB: Common Weapons of WWII Dies Irae: Gotterdammerung Dies Irae: Stars and strips they add techs, units and events, but they cost money, but not much.
How do wars of independence work in CK2? If I declare war do I have to conquer all their counties or what?

[editline]11th June 2012[/editline]
How do wars of independence work in CK2?
Anyone have a certain strategy for this stupidly-large tech tree?
I recommend marching your entire army upon your liege's capital, just wear it down to the last town and you'll usually have enough war score gain to become independent.
That's kind of dumb. I don't think wars of independence usually work that way...
CK2 has weird war mechanics. Like, if you're claiming a single county, you have to fight the entire kingdom until there's a warscore that's like 75 percent or more. One of the reasons I haven't reunited bulgaria from the byzantine empire, as hungary.

After a few years that territory begins contributing to warscore. You can also just play wack-a-mole with their armies. I've taken claims by occupying relatively little land.
The other thing about CK2's war mechanics is that if you're fighting for a certain county or duchy then you need to occupy that Duchy, or else you take massive warscore penalties. At least I think that's the case. I might be completely wrong.
That's kind of dumb. I don't think wars of independence usually work that way...
Yes, but the AI is generally retarded anyways. I beat HRE and freed an entire Kingdom from them by simply sacking their lord's capitals and the capital itself.
In my vicky 2 game, WW1 basically started in 1865 over italy refusing to join a war with Austria against Denmark. So many countries getting involved over this minor dispute.
So I tried playing Belgium this time. I get my ass handed to me again. My divisions were at half strength and I couldn't fully mobilize my home troops which left my colonial troops the only full-strength division in Belgium. Set up artillery division at Liege and other infantry divisions only to have them break and rout again with the Germans taking very minimal casualties.
