Why is the Jewish religion not present?
They're in Vick2's POP religion but I never seen any Jewish religion beyond that in any other Paradox games except in mods.
It's just the best feeling to start off a game as a prince with relatively minimal power and plot to regain the throne.
I guess so, when, where or what. Also I am trying out Crusader Kings 2. Duke of Munster, I gave a county to my son, who is so thick he lost his county in a big revolt.
Sometime, somewhere and something. I dunno, add me on Steam. Don't even know how to set up a multiplayer game.
Annex Cheat is funny, but it becomes kind of shit when I start getting revolts. I wish there was a cheat to make a province a core and give it 0 revolt risk. That way you could literally use cheats in game to make your own saved scenarios and share them. Like how I wanted to make a scenario where the Papal States unify Italy, Prussia annexes Northern Germany and Bavaria takes the south, and they all end up fighting a huge war.
Why is the Jewish religion not present?
I often wonder this. I would like to see an expansion for EU3 or VIC2 that allows the player to play as splinter factions and attempt to form rebellions. Eastern European Jewish uprising to found Israel in 1500 would sure be interesting to see, no?

Personally what I prefer to do, is go into the EU3 folder, browse to defines.txt in the common folder, and then change
50 #_CDEF_CORE_GAIN_,
to
0 #_CDEF_CORE_GAIN_,
This means that the month after you recieve a province, you immediately recieve it as a core, and usually the following month you will have no revolt risk. Then you can just change the value back to 50 and the game will continue normally.
A significantly easier way is to put this at the bottom of one of the event files, probably culturalspread.txt
province_event = { id = 7205 trigger = { NOT = { is_core = THIS} owner = { ai = no} } mean_time_to_happen = { months = 1 } title = "EVTNAME9461" desc = "EVTDESC9461" option = { name = "EVTOPTA9461" add_core = THIS culture = THIS } }
Just a basic thing. I can make a modifier to turn the effect on or off, another to remove cores from foreign provinces, a decision to give a core on a neighbour for free, even put maximum buildings up to all level 6 in every province this affects.
Jews have never had any major presence in Middle East or European affairs since the sack of Jerusalem in AD70, they were there but always as a minority, don't think they really need to be included.
Not fully true. The Jews were a major issue in Rome, Jerusalem, and Iberia during these time periods. Their very existence was a point of wars and economics. I think it would be neat to have Jewish presence as a "minor" religion. Even add in events and decisions to expel Jews and suffer an economic penalty, plus relationship bonus from Catholic Nations, or fight for tolerance and suffer relationship penalties with Catholics, but gain economic bonuses.

The Prince and the Thane for CK2 has Judaism and Jewish bankers + events related to them.
Are there Jews in Hearts of Iron? Would be kinda weird if it wasn't, whatwith it being centered on the Third Reich.
There are no cultures in HOI. There are also no events relating to the holocaust or any other black marks on history during the war.
There are no cultures in HOI. There are also no events relating to the holocaust or any other black marks on history during the war.
~~political correctness~~
I thought the Soviet Great Purge was in? But yeah, those things have been omitted. In Paradox' defence, they wanted to make the HoI games war simulations, not genocide sims.
I thought the Soviet Great Purge was in?
I think so, otherwise playing Finland would be instalose in december 1939
I thought the Soviet Great Purge was in? But yeah, those things have been omitted. In Paradox' defence, they wanted to make the HoI games war simulations, not genocide sims.
The Great Purge affected the military of the Soviet Union. The Holocaust didn't really play a large part in the war. Plus, they want to be able to sell the game in Germany, and Germany doesn't particularly appreciate references to the Holocaust in their games. Hell, the German flag isn't even accurate. In game: In real life:
I thought the Soviet Great Purge was in?
Yeah it was http://imgur.com/a/AHg5v Took Poland took some time and they moved their capital about 8 times.
Paradox doesn't even allow mods posted on their forums to include references to the Holocaust or include the swastika. Although sometimes the Swastika sneaks by because no-one mentions it.The Sucesssor to the airotciv mod for EU3 has the swastika for Nazi Germany, although its backwards.
http://imgur.com/a/AHg5v
Pain the Globe red with the blood of the capitalists, liberate the workers of the world from the darkness of the capitalist oppression. No mercy for the corrupt, the greedy, or the fascist. Make the motherland proud, comrade. Lots of information about the upcoming DLC and patch for CK2 http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/06/21/consultan-the-creator-ckii-sword-of-islam-interview/
So the new DLC is priced pretty reasonably and they've planned another four? This news pleases me.
Either that or Paradox are just anti-Semitic.
You can play as Judea in EU: Rome. Judaism is also the strongest religion in the game.
Yeah the reason you don't see Judaism a whole lot in Paradox games was because I'm pretty sure the time frame the majority of them are set in, the medieval period and renaissance, Jews were busy being oppressed all over Europe and didn't really have any states or provinces to call their own.
That and the games don't track the religion of the minorities.
Yeah, the closest you'll find is Heresy. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] Any tips for playing as the Teutonic Order in EU3? I've pretty much completely destroyed Poland, but Lithuania is big and scary.
I just spent the past 9 hours on my first campaign of EU3, and conquered about 1/3 of Europe as Ulm. Am I cool yet?

Lithuania was pathetic in my game, but Poland stretched from the Baltic to the Black sea and they were ridiculously difficult, but Hungary helped me out at a crucial moment and now Poland has two provinces left.

Poland eventually forced Ukraine to give up a province to reform Lithuania, but now they are tiny and pathetic. Any ways, my game became very interesting. I started getting alliance Casus Bellis on everybody because I had allied with all the major warmongers. Guess who I chose? The Hansa and the Tuetonic Order! It took a while and I nearly failed, but after waiting several years to drag my military up to full strength (I had annexed The Hansa and their vassal so they could no longer field armies) and marched against the Tuetonic Order. I achieved narrow victory through attrition at first but slowly it got better. We beat the Tuetons at Danzig and later at Ostpreussen. I occupied the country (stealing it right out from under th Golden Horde, who tried declaring war too but got real stupid and abandoned the front, leaving me to take it all) and so I annexed it. Okay, well, not that quickly. First I had to wait several years to get core provinces in annexed Pommerania (note: real Pommerania is still bopping around, but I have a personal union with them so eventually I'll integrate them, giving me a province in Norway as well!) so I could build a navy, as the last island province in the Tuetonic Order was being guarded by the Hansa's surviving navy. I finally defeated them, captured the island, then waited YEARS (literally up into the 1500s) just to get my infamy low enough to annex them, which I finally did. Then I took a lot of Provinces from the Hansa but had to cede some northern provinces from the Tuetonic Order to avoid unlawful Imperial Territory. However, I still kept my UITs in Germany, prompting the Emperor to get very angry. The good news is that I had planned out my strategy. I tipped the 50/50 vote in favor of Bohemia in the last election because Bohemia was really tiny by this point, meaning their army, though increased, was still smaller than mine. Now I'm not afraid of them and will probably annex them at earliest convenience. If I get the seat as Emperor, it is likely I will just dissolve the HRE instead. It is doing far more harm than good.
