Why does imprisoning plotters not discourage other people from plotting?
Why does imprisoning plotters not discourage other people from plotting?
I don't know. It's as redicilous as people from the same house starting rebellions every line of succesion even though you punished their heir.
I just can't see world leaders taking talking equines seriously. And they make these fucking puns and ally with mexico. Like, what the fuck is with that? Here's to hoping the Russians invade...Seaddle. I'm also assuming that whoever made the mod balanced the nation so that it just steamrolls everything always, right?

It's either Equestria, some weird Central cockup of whatever-there-is, or the communist state around the Great Lakes from that one mod in HoI3.

Any tips for getting a better economy and industry? I suck ass at it. If all else fails, I'll just cheat, because that is the price I am willing to pay to see the United States of Equestria fall, but I kind of want to play seriously this time.
Glue factories, thousands of them.
Glue factories, thousands of them.
No, AUTOMOBILE factories are the way to go!
No, AUTOMOBILE factories are the way to go!
Wine and liquor never seem to make me anything less than lods of emone the entire game as long as I keep them down to one per province and subsidize them. Though I've never really played as a large country and had a chance to do it, since they always end up being goddamn Laissez-faire. I really just get one army of 3 guard/3 artillery per state or two, since they destroy everything and level a winery or liquor distillery up to level 7 or so in each state and I can remove taxes, max spending, and bring tariffs down to -5%.

You need cavalry to help take provinces faster and to act as a shock arm against units. I usually outfit my infantry with two or more cannon regiments to help. I wanted to start an AAR where I play as Prussia, but make it different. Every battle would be re-enacted in Napoleon: Total War (until tanks are invented, them I'm not sure what I'll do). However, Prussia is hard as shit to play as and I have no idea how to play this game well as anybody but France.
Glue factories, thousands of them.
Hahaha that would be hilarious to PM the guy who made the mod and show him Equestaria conquered and covered in glue factories.
I wonder if anyone can divide US just like it is in Crimson Skies, for HoI3.
I wonder if anyone can divide US just like it is in Crimson Skies, for HoI3.
It's not impossible. It's just that, unless you push in a lot of leftover content from the US manually, which would take quite a lot of time, the situation wouldn't really turn out well for the allies in HoI3 as there won't be anyone to steamroll Japan and Germany later on in the game that isn't communist or Chinese. I'd love to see an alternate history mod for Vicky 2 involving those countries, tho.
Has anyone had a massive problem with the muslims on CK2? I'm playing as wales and have all of the british isles apart from england, I also have Brittanny and sections of france. So I have 40,000 Soldiers. But One of the muslims has taken over the rest of france and destroyed the byzantine empire, so they have 400,000 soldiers and no one can beat them in any fight :(
Tried out Crusader Kings II. Nothing makes sense, nothing is explained. Amazingly unintuitive.
Isn't there a tutorial in the game and also lets plays on youtube can help to learn
Tried out Crusader Kings II. Nothing makes sense, nothing is explained. Amazingly unintuitive.
Play the tutorials.
I still find the game difficult even with the tutorials. I understand the basics but I find fiefs confusing to handle, I had control of all of Ireland and knew that I had to delegate some of the fiefs to other people but one guy always declared war on the other holders and took over most of Ireland and then tried to depose me. Any suggestions on how to handle that stuff?
I really just put some cheats on and just thrust myself into the game with no direction. That's how I do every first to fifth game in a paradox interactive title.

[editline]12th July 2012[/editline] I mean declare war in the realm. They could still attack someone outside the realm, but the Duke of Leinster couldn't attack the Duke of Munster, for example.
What a sad story. King Sancho I of Aragon died 5 years into his reign. His 2 year old son, Sancho, inherited the throne. From scratch Sancho grew the empire and conquered the east half of Spain. During his reign he had 4 sons, one died at birth. I married the oldest son to a Hungarian duchess ( Huge mistake), and he left my domain shortly after that. I split the rest of the empire between the two other sons. King Sancho was so renown, and so loved, that even Muslims on the other side of the map had positive relationships with him. Eventually after 55 years Sancho died and control of the realm was split between the three brothers. I took control over as the oldest son. On his return the Spain, he was greeted with many upset Vassals. During his time in Hungary, he picked up quite a few bad habits. Soon the Pope called for another Crusade, and I decided to join in, just for the sake of positive relations with the pope. After that the two other brothers decided they wanted independence. Using Daddy's money, I put together a substantial mercenary force to fight off my own blood. All was going well until 10 thousand Muslims marched over the strait of Gibraltar. They started massacring everyone, including me. Eventually I ran out of gold and the mercenary forces turned on me about the same time as the civilian population did. Average CK2 game.
.
please, make a book :(
Well, I played as Prussia for a serious roll for the first time and did exceptionally well. I made an alliance with Russia, and the Ottomans and the Italian states just allied with me for no clear reason. Anyways, I was waiting to build up my strength when Sardinia-Piedmont needed aid in conquering Switzerland. I helped them out, but they almost lost, and I couldn't send troops to aid them (I had no means of getting to the country) However, a final battle turned the tide on the already battered Swiss and Sardinia-Piedmont started winning. However, before the wars end, Austria attempted to gain Schlesweig-Holstien from the Danes, and so I had to act fast to preserve my interest. I declared war and mediated the negotiations for Sardinia and Switzerland. I played defensively, but the Austrians were hit hard from every front. The Ottomans, the Ruskies, the Italians, the Belgians, and the little German states gave them hell. I had many strong and powerful allies while they had few. So when they were off fighting everyone else, I occupied Bohemia, Moravia, and everything nearly down to the Mediterranean. Russia followed in suit and the Ottomans did most of the fighting in the South. The Russians used superior numbers to fight the Austrians in the East, and I ended up fighting 3 major battles all in all. One at Bratislava, in which I was outnumbered (but not by much) and had both supply and defense bonuses. Therefore, victory came easy. I later fought the same force in Prague but with superior numbers (though only by 2,000 or so more men) and won, fracturing the main Austrian Army and effectively ending their campaign in the North. I rampaged across the country and so did Russia, while Sicily took the West and the Italian States fought amongst themselves (some were loyal to Austria) However, when I neared the Mediterranean I ran into a large, 21,000 men strong army. I was far from my Supply Lines and attrition had whittled down my force. It seemed hopeless, even with the defense bonus. I rallied what men I could, the end result being an army of 24,000 strong. While I had numbers, the enemy had supplies, morale, and organization all on his side. But, by some unknown force, the Austrians began suffering heavy losses (I did too, even moreso then them, but I had more men. Their other armies were scattered around Europe. One of 30,000 was surrounded on all sides by the Russians. One was taking refuge in Allied Sweden, and one had found it's way into the Russian pines, but was swiftly wiped out) and I won the day. The Austrians, battered and broken, retreated en masse and ran smack dab into the Ottomans and Russians. Realizing it was hopeless, they surrender. I gained 2 regions (the most populous, to cut down their strength) and had occupied their entire nation, save for maybe 14 little provinces at most. They had been beaten on an industrial and military scale, and the road to recovery will be long. It was quite the feat, and I got lucky. Most of their forces were overseas in Sweden or Denmark fighting, so they had few left to defend the homelands. TL;DR I won a massive war against Austria However, before you think this post is just more boring bullshit, then I have a surprise. I plan of filming the 3 major battles between the Austrian and Prussian military's in Napoleon: Total War! I hope to do this for every major battle I fight. However, in the mean time, enjoy the new map of Europe:
Man I fucking hate the Ruskies in my latest game as the Ottomans. I've managed to retake all of Ottoman Asia from the Egyptian rebel scum but the Reds constantly and without reason invade my borders with MASSIVE doom stacks of infantry and artillery. I can't match their cannon production as it is still relatively early game, but even worse my still skilled veterans are outnumbered about 6:1. France has seen fit to declare itself my protector, but instead of sending military aid this amounts to them becoming warleader and fucking me in the ass by either NOT agreeing to good terms when we're winning, or in the case of this last war ceding a sizeable chunk of my Turkish Eastern Cores. I keep trying to gain Great Power status to make Russia a little more hesitant to fuck with me but their constant invasions are making that hard. I've read that the key is more artillery, but I'm luckily if I can build one cannon in a year with how insanely slow I produce liquor, which is apparently required for this. Any advice?
Well, I just got done playing a long, long session today. Here, let me tell you about it: Rise of Germany, Part II After the war with Austria, change began to flow through Europe. Prussia became a constitutional monarchy with a Parliament to match. Germany had also won over all of the German states to it's side. Prussia could have formed the German Empire right there and be done with it, but it knew that the Empire would not hold for long without allies. They invested their time with Denmark and the Ottomans, who had been loyal since the Austro-Prussian Brother's War. They were also offered and alliance from a long silent European nation, Great Britain, who was investing it's time mostly in Asia. The new alliances were born. Prussia formed "Mittel Europa" which included the Ottoman Empire, Two Sicilies, Sardinia-Piedmont, Great Britain, Denmark, Belgium, and the German States. The opposition, the "First Entente" was Frances answer to Mittel Europa. It was comprised of France, Spain, Austria, and the Papal States (and eventually Sweden). Europe was primed for another war. However, peace managed to carry on for 9 more years. In that time, Prussia brought up it's strength. Austria, still devastated from the previous war, had a smaller military. However, France was a military giant. Austria was trying to maneuver itself into a position of power in Germany and attempted to take Wurtemburg from Prussia's sphere. Prussia did not want to break the truce and declare war, but it was the only way of avoiding war. Yet the truce barely ended in the nick of time, just before Prussia's officials were cast out ans the sphere would be taken. Prussia quickly declared war, using it's Casus Bellis, and war began a new. Almost all of the fighting was concentrated in Austria. The occupation was swift and brutal, and Sardinia and Sicily once again took the West and the Ottomans claimed the South. However, the Western front went poorly for Mittel Europa. The French rampaged across Belgium but hesitated at the Prussian border. Sarbrucken was too well defended, and thousands would die trying to take the fort. Still, the French tried. However, they lost, even with double the forces, but the Prussians sustained heavy casualties. Meanwhile, Prussia fought two battles in the East. They managed to break the last Austrian Army Corps and destroy it in a second battle. With no army to oppose them, Prussia and her allies claimed almost all of Austria. The timing could not have been better. France has mobilized and was marching in-full towards Sarbrucken. At the last minute, a truce ended the war. Austria agreed to the terms. They were to cede Slovakia (which became a surprisingly powerful ally to Germany) and France had to cede Alasce and Lorraine. The Prussians renamed the province. Meanwhile, they had finally secured their influence in Holstien and Hanover, meaning it was time for a new dawn for Germany. The States Convened in Berlin, and eventually it was agreed that the German States would be united into a grand Empire. And so it was that in May of 1849, The German Empire was formed. Rise of Germany, Part III: Birth of an Empire The new German Empire was strong. It brought Prussia a massive new military and industrial bonus. With this, Germany would aspire to be the greatest of all nations and earn it's Place in the Sun. They quickly started choosing targets for conquest. Egypt had no military and a weak ally, and so the conquest of Dumyat was underway within a few short years (to make sure the infamy level had gone down) Egypt was assaulted by both Germany and the Ottomans, and they very quickly fell. However, Italy was still divided. Since Austria had been so badly hit in the last war, they lost their status as Great Power. About the same time, the Ottomans did too. 3 new powers rose. The Two Sicilies (still allied with Germany) became the first, with Sardinia (also still allied to Germany, even though they were sphered by France in the Second Austro-Prussian Brothers War) and Mexico following. Germany was in a good position, with many powerful allies. They had a strong military and an outstanding economy. They lacked a navy (they had no fighting ships) and weren't culturally advanced, but they ruled in all other categories. However, that rule over Europe was soon to be challenged by their most fierce competitor. Rise of Germany Part IV: The Kaiser's Battle In the next few years, Germany found itself losing it's allies. It had faith that it's large army could easily defend it. They were soon tested. France declared war in an effort to conquer all lands West of the Rhine. Germany's response: The Kaiser spared no expense, knowing the massive size of Frances land forces. He called for immediate mobilization. The end result was staggering. France had an estimated 200,000 men in Europe, with at least 80,000 overseas. Germany had nearly 300,000 in Europe with about 40,000 in Egypt. Construction of the Suez had just finished around the same time, providing easy transport. However, Germany's allies were treacherous. They had betrayed them! Only Sardinia, Sicily, and Denmark honored their alliance. With Great Britain and the Ottomans gone, Mittel Europa dissolved. But a new alliance came from a very unexpected, but old, friend. The United States of America stood up to France, long having poor relations with them. This did little to help the Germans, but Germany knew they would win, even with no alliances. The French attacked Belgium with all of their forces, with only minimal fighting in Alasce and Lorraine. However, the reserve troops arrived from Germany to save the Belgians. Around 30 battles were fought just to halt the offensive in into Belgium, with the largest being 225,000 men versus 112,000 men (with Germany being the former and France being the latter) The outnumbered French were... overwhelmed to say the least. Germany had decimated the French forces. They had superior technology, good leaders, and more numbers to oppose the French, and they mostly fought defensively. They then took the offensive into France, occupying all of Northern France in a few months. France attempted to surrender like the cowards they were, hoping to get off scott-free. However, the Germans made them pay the price for their insolence, and declined the treaty. With nothing to oppose them, the Germans conquered all of France. In the meantime, their allies only grew stronger. Denmark formed Scandinavia, providing a new Great Power to help Germany, and Italy was formed from the Two Sicilies. Germany now had 3 Great Powers on their side, and Mittel Europa was born again. However, like the backstabbing dogs they are, the French landed an expeditionary force from their colonies. But the Germans were not deterred, and they swiftly cut them down, even as they tried to retake Paris and save the trapped Parliament. And with that, the French had lost. Though they had taken the Egyptian colony and fought back an American invasion of their African colonies, the French had lost the battle on the mainland. A Treaty was proposed and signed in Vienna. The Germans made sure the French would never attempt an invasion again. They took even more land from them. Now Mittel Europa was the dominant power in the world. Nothing could stop them now. (Yeah no, there is no way in fuck I can record all of those battles. My PC will lag to death. I'll try and finish the Austro-Prussian Brothers Wars first)
I see your Germany, I counter it with my (old) EU3 reich yeah I totally fucked up the infamy, this was back when I assumed overly high infamy only gave everybody else a CB against you and I wasn't afraid of anyone, but...well...yeah...
Speaking of crazy-ass germany my first ever EU3 game was as switzerland. I got the claim on a neighbor event every 2-3 months for THE ENTIRE GAME. By the end of the game I had Germany and Italy under my control as Germany, with a huge ottomans spanning from finland to anatolia in my east and a france in my west that controlled france and spain. Shit was crazy, and it just kept throwing claims at me.
I see your Germany, I counter it with my (old) EU3 reich yeah I totally fucked up the infamy, this was back when I assumed overly high infamy only gave everybody else a CB against you and I wasn't afraid of anyone, but...well...yeah...
Oh god. At least my borders were halfway decent! Rise of Germany Part V: The Treachery of the Tsardom It has been nearly 20 years since the first alliance marched against Austria. 20 years since the first great German war began. 20 years since the Tsar declared his support for Prussia. 20 years is a long time. Many things can change, and many things did change. The Russians sphered the Ottomans and allied with Britain. A new alliance, known simply as "The Allied Powers" to the British, surfaced in Europe. It was all in response to Germany's rise in power. They had hoped, in the first war, that Prussia would keep the balance of Germany between Austria and itself. They new the two would fight over the confederation of states, and they saw it as a good thing. If Germany was to be formed by either nation, the result would be a new powerful Empire capable of even standing up to Britain. However, they did not foresee Prussia using the second war to rally the states into a confederation and form the Empire. As Germany continued on recovering from it's recent war with France, Britain and Russia schemed and plotted. Secret meetings between Victoria and Alexander II were held, and the Tsar agreed to betray Germany to limit it's power. They did not want to see Germany grow even stronger. And so it was that in Winter of 1868 the Allied Powers declared war on Germany. The Russians mobilized and stormed over the border, catching the unsuspecting Germans off guard. Germany hoped her allies would help, but the USA backed down for fear of retaliation from Canada, Scandinavia did not want an invasion through Finland, Belgium declared neutrality as they were allied both with Great Britain and Germany, and Italy also declared Neutrality. With that, Mittel Europa was dissolved. Germany stood alone against a tidal wave of enemies. The Germans mobilized yet again, drawing forces from all over. The end result came to a massive 500,000 men. Russia's numbers were slightly more. However, Russia suffered numerous defeats even after occupying Ostpruessen. Before long, almost all of the Russian Army was wiped out. As victory tipped in Germany's favor, old alliances, and new ones, began to form. Italy joined in to help Germany and the Dutch sent a force to retake Ostpruessen. This aid brought an even quicker end to the war. Meanwhile, a new power rose in the German Council. A man named Otto von Bismarck found his way to Chancellor of the German Realm. He and Wilhelm I got along quite well. And thus, both saw there was nothing to be further gained from this war. They had Alexander II sign the Treaty of Amsterdam in nuetral Belgium (who offered to be the mediator in the war). The war ended with no side gaining an upper hand, though it was agreed upon that Germany and her allies did, in fact, win.
Fuck yeah! In my Ottoman game I managed to finally win a war against the Ruskie menace. My good friend Prussia (Sure alot of Prussia love on this page, eh?) actually agreed to join me in my latest struggle for freedom and between the raging Turkish berserkers and the frothing Aryan hordes the Russians got their vodka swilling asses handed to them. I managed to get back most of the land I had lost in the earlier wars and at the same time cemented my love for my strange Germanic neighbor.
Could you upload your save? I'm just asking so I could have a chance to dick around as the German empire. I only ever got to the North German Confederation.
