EU 3 is the easiest?
The fuck are they smoking.
Also, I will upload my two saves. One starts at the formation of the Confederation, and one is at the Empire.
I have no idea what difficulty I was using either, but I did it without cheats (huzaah!) so it should be fine.
Here are the two saves:
http://www.mediafire.com/?b6pz9l55wsa1pnk - This is the formation of the Empire.
http://www.mediafire.com/?v8f73muhbi0at57 - This is the North German Federation.
I think after my playthrough, I am going to play through one of these saves as a different power like Italy or Scandinavia.
Yeah, I'm confused as to why they say Victoria 2 is harder, it's much more simple to me than EU3.
Also less fucking rebels.
Victoria 2 requires economy planning. EU3 is easy comparatively.
Also distant worlds

Yeah I noticed, but I was wondering if there was a specific board or thread. Haven't seen anything on /v/.

Heh, always forget /vg/ is a thing. Thanks.

Victoria II's does require planning, but at least it actually have some control over it when playing as a Conservative nation.
In EU 3 it feels entirely luck based. The only influence I have is how many merchants I send and how good my Trade Tech is. Other than that, it seems wildly random and unfair.
I like how my Finnish King in Crusader Kings was named "Voitto", and he went from being a 2 province duke to have 25~ provinces as King of Finland.
Only problem is its 1297, and the map looks absolutely fucking disgusting. Outside of Finland, there are empires spread out and broken up to make a horrible contorted map that shares no resemblance to any country.
If you have Gavelkind succession and your only successors are male twins, which one do you play as when your old ruler dies?
Maybe it's just luck but I've never seen a major dynastic decline like this in any of my games, France was inherited by de Normandie and then the last few Capets withered away in Castille til Estefania died in 1256. Like does this happen often for anyone else?

The older one I assume.
The older one I assume.
twin
twin
They don't exit the womb at the exact same time. One is designated as older I believe.

Close enough, I guess I either wasn't paying attention or largely missed stuff like that before
Hey everyone, i looked through the thread and didnt see anything like this so i hope its not a repost or late question.
So ive owned Hearts of Iron 3 on steam for about a year and never had issues with it, but recently i bought Semper Fi and For the Motherland because they were only 4 dollars during the summer sale. Now my game black screens with the little pocket watch loading icon and it just stays there and freezes my computer.
Ive tried these Redistrutable C++ fixes and they havent helped any. Anybody have any ideas?
Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache for HoI3? (Right Click>Properties>Local Files)
Have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache for HoI3? (Right Click>Properties>Local Files)
Yes and its said that it is acquiring new files then it downloads something of 0.0kb size and doesn't really do anything. I think it might be because of Steam. The sale is going on and i don't think im getting everything. It happened to me last summer too.
During a crusade for jerusalem, I somehow was rewarded with all the territories conquered.

The lands are given to the one that contributed the most. (Right?)
So guys, I bought Sword of Islam but when I play CK2 it won't show up...anyone know why?

I think you have to activate it in the launcher.
Hey guys, I have a question.
I've been playing EU3 and I'm still getting the hand of economics. I'm actually doing quite well at it (I always have a prominent slot secured in a CoT somewhere) but I seem to be having an issue.
Merchants don't seem to bring back any revenue. There is no difference in my monthly or yearly income even when I level up to the upper tiers of a CoT. Is this a bug, or am I fucking something up?

For as far as i know the money you receive from trading is added to the money you get at the start of a new year.

That's kind of funny. Since all I did was seige Acre.
[editline]16th July 2012[/editline]
I do find it kind of funny how the crusade was a relative success. The first crusade about 50 years back was a complete failure and we got our asses kicked :v:.
I guess this time it succeeded because of the muslims using their resources against the Byzantines to the north. The byzantines having their armies to the east is really the only reason I successfully got those territories in northern Greece. They were also really weak in my game for some reason, like; they lost Istanbul to Georgia.

-snip-
Actually, I seem to only be making Census Taxes. My merchants aren't gaining me any revenue!
I was thinking about getting either Victoria II or EU III. I already have Hearts of Iron III and CK2. Which one would you recommend for someone who likes to put the harder aspects of the game on AI control and then attempt world conquest?
