HOI3 along with all the expansions and patches isn't that buggy anymore.

Maybe so, but I will always prefer DH's simplicity. It's one of the few Paradox Games I do not suck at.
Help, I'm playing as Austria in the year 1892 and I have spent the last 2 years in constant civil war against rebels, first the communists rebel, then the reactionaries and then the communists and so on in a constant cycle e.g. when I defeat the last of the communist rebels, the reactionaries rebel and vice versa. What can I do to stop this, I already tax the poor at 0% and have universal elections.

If you have AHD, suppressing a movement might help for a little while. Also, don't lower poor taxes, I'm willing to bet the people revolting are Middle Class (despite the whole "Communist" thing)

It could be as BananaFoam says. Open the pop tab for all of Austria and sort by rebel faction, third from the left. See if it's the poor pops or the middle class, also mouse-over the militancy column to see what issues are causing them to be rebels, might be easy to fix.
You are playing Austria later in the game though, I think you're designed to fall apart at this point as they did in real life. Try and put the militancy down but you'll probably have to make some concessions. Maybe give in to some Fascist rebels, they're always nice.
So the first group game didn't work out. People were all ready at different times, and once the host was ready the only other person besides myself and the host who was ready was getting the wrong checksum.
At any rate, we'll try again next week.

All my newborn relatives are suddenly becoming homosexual what the fuck.
There goes my dynasty down the toilet.

And if I don't get one, I overlook the fact that the person they do marry end up being a homosexuall! :v:

Problem partially solved, I just won the great war and am getting so much money from reparations that I don't need to tax anyone :v:
Update from my CK2 Croatia game.
So I finally got an event in which I fully accepted Croatian culture, ridding me of the -10 opinion hit, causing certain people like the Duke of Slavonia to stop asking for rights to Serbia. In the mean time I married one of my sisters to the Duke of Tuscany leading to him calling me to defend against Granada and That-Muslim-Nation-North-East-Of-Granada, along with Venice and France. I accept, hire The Knights Templar and start wrecking Muslim armies all over Eastern Spain until the Duke of Tuscany suddenly kicked the bucket, leading to TMNNEOG quitting the war and resuming the next day, while Granada kept on fighting it's own war. I captured most of their holdings and destroyed their levy with my overbloated Templar doomstack while France and Tuscany took care of TMNNEOG up North. A couple of years later and the Croatian money coffers got increased by some 500 gold and I pulled out my troops out of Granada, ending the both wars in Christian victory.
Afterwards it turned out that Granada has became an extremely unstable and weak nation, causing one of the Emir's vassals to rebel and besiege the nation's capital.
This could lead to an opening for Croatia's territorial expansion into the Mediterranean and weakening of the Muslim nations in Spain. However, I'm also concerned regarding the Muslim nations around me. Fighting defensive wars for decades with no payoff or expansion could lead to many internal problems in Croatia, however it could be countered by declaring even more wars, eventually subduing all Muslims around me. Now if only I would get the chance to murder my infertile old hag of a wife...
Started a new game in Rome after my Rome playthrough got a bit messy. I could handle all the rebellions that come with 24 infamy, but it was annoying to deal with.
Starting as Carthage and have already captured all of western Spain, Sicily, and a small chunk of Greece. Also colonizing the bits of Africa that arent controlled.
My latest efforts cannot be described in a simple text, so here it is.

It is good to be the quadruple-king.
Well, except when the Caliph of You-Know-What called a Jihad on Granada, but I got better.
Is Croatia islamic?
Couldn't be, some sort of Arabic culture king but all his kingdom icons are Christian styled/lacks dynasty name
In fact here is my Croatia! I snagged the Duchy of Carinthia from the Duke of Verona since the HRE fell apart after an Italian county level mayor somehow managed to become emperor, hence the independent Swabia, Bavaria, etc.
After all, I had to have Istria
Is Croatia islamic?
No, he started as a Sicilian minor and conquered it or he started in Southern Spain. Either way, he just conquered Croatia and Serbia.
I love how fucked up and random the AI is and hate it at the same time. Because of it, playing as the North in GoT mod is a completely mindnumbing experience. There's no boats because of the AI misusing them and it takes YEARS to transport infantry.

The AI has never been good at naval transportation or combat. Honestly they aren't good at anything other than overwhelming you with massively superior numbers and fucking you over whenever possible.
So according to a anon on /vg/, the next CK2 expansion is going to be focusing on the Byzantine Empire and some more major goodies.

The last lines make me cringe.. all your vassals go together and form a united front? You're fucked if they have more than 50% of your country.
[editline]7th August 2012[/editline]
Hell, the rebels have a tendency to attack at the worst possible times too. Like when you declare war to your neighbour.
No, he started as a Sicilian minor and conquered it or he started in Southern Spain. Either way, he just conquered Croatia and Serbia.
ACTUALLY
I played as Stjepan II of Croatia from start date, installed the Trpimirović dynasty in Hungary and after some minor claiming wars I died comatose in bed.
Then as Darko the Kind I expanded into Duklja, claimed Serbia and did minor stuff with Poland and Hungary, earning me lots of prestige, and I died after 50 years.
As Darko the Cruel I made the Duchy of Benevento by taking Genoa's holdings in Sicily, took over some minor holdings in Napoli via holy war and settled down some problems with the Emir of Zoghbadid by marrying one of his daughters that later gave birth to Salid, then micromanaged my vassals until they were all subdued, only to die of typhoid while fighting Genoa with Tuscany in my 33rd year, leaving the kingdom to Salid.
Because Salid was culturally Maghreb it turned Croatia into a Christian Sultanate, and due to vassal opinion backlash I spent the first ten-ish years of the reign making sure that nobody demands my throne or the Kingdom of Serbia. However, shit went extremely in my way when I fully accepted the Croatian culture(by getting drunk with the Duke of Slavonia, I guess) and the pope declared a crusade on the Emirate of Sicily. That made it Papacy+Genoa+Tuscany+Venice+Croatia+Rus vs. Sicily+Zoghbadid+minor African emirs+Dhunnunid fighting for Sicilian control. Croatia being the nearest possible powerhouse made me invest a whooping 85% of the total war effort, earning me the Kingdom of Sicily and all it's duchies(which I forcefully separated from Genoa).
This allowed me to expand the realm territory into other parts of the Mediterranean and I took over Granada, then the Croatian Prince Petar that was gifted Granada took over the duchy of Seville from Abbadids while I holy war'd Abbadids for de jure Portugese provinces, allowing me to claim Portugal. I prettied up borders north of Granada, when suddenly the Sunnis call Jihad for Granada and all hell breaks loose. France, England and HRE intervened and after several years of extreme fighting it was called off.
And this is pretty much it. Salid, a man who's blood is barely half-Croat, expanded the realm so much that by the end of his reign Croatia will be within the grasping distance of the empire of Hispania.

IMO while it is scary, it is relatively realistic. Wars/revolts based on groups of people all trying to force their common goal through make more sense and is actually more historically accurate than individual vassals randomly sending out requests to aid them in their personal wars against their liege/other vassals.

Russia and England went to war with France over the "French Containment of Britain"
England and Russia both had to release puppets and vassals and now they are all split. I'm the 2nd greatest power in the world now after i westernized. I've got barely a military and hardly any factories.
The last lines make me cringe.. all your vassals go together and form a united front? You're fucked if they have more than 50% of your country.
It actually adds a bit more replayability to the game. Think about it, have you ever started as a vassal of the HRE and every time you wanted independence you have to spend a good portion of the game to build up alliances with powerful factions or save a lot of money to pay mercenaries for years to control lots of territory. With this change, you can align yourself more quickly with other HRE vassals and secure your independence a lot more quickly, creating more enjoyment from starting from humble beginnings.
Of course, there is the downside if you are a great power and your vassals revolt, they will do it in a massive horde. But, it is more historically accurate to have subjects teaming up to revolt, rather than doing it one at a time.
I have some extra dosh laying around, and I'm tied between Crusader Kings, Darkest Hour and Sengoku.
for Crusader Kings II
[img]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/img] for Sengoku
for Darkest Hour
I wouldn't recommend getting Sengoku unless that time period of Japan really suits your fancy. It's basically a stripped barebone version of CK2 with sparse events and the lowest replayability of any PI game, so just get CK2 instead.
Anyone else just fuck around with cheats when they don't feel like playing a normal game? The latest beat patch for HOI3 is great because it added the 'conquerall TAG' command, which is self explanatory.
Cuba occupied American anyone?
I just use the ANNEX cheat when I'm bored and then go fight the rebels.

Dismantlement is the greatest way to see an empire fall apart, be it through rebels or wars.
Okay, 1942, playing as Ireland while I assist the allies.
How the fuck do I get around the damned Kriegsmarine, they're killing all of my convoys to Algiers.
Patrol with destroyers among the convoy route if you think it's a submarine problem. Naval bombers can be another option, they're great at wrecking str/org of subs.
So I played as Dublin to try and see how fast I could unite ireland.
Took me an hour and in game time was 1100. Most of that was waiting for things like truces and false claims to go through.
[editline]8th August 2012[/editline]
Oh and there was a fucking crusade and I had to assist in that and I couldnt attack anyone because of that.
But after kingdom of ireland was created, only Connacht wanted to be free.

Jerusalem is french in this game.
