I'm surprised no-one has made a GUI save editor for HOI3. At least, I can't find one.

I'd rather like a save editor for CK2 so I can edit independent realms. Lately I got my hands on a CK2->EU3 converter, but it shits itself because there are more realms in CK2 than there are in entire EU3.
Even the Swiss get in trouble.
It all started with Germany being retarded and attacking Switzerland (for god knows why).
I've only used tag on Germany to get Nat-China into the Axis.
I buy most, if not all paradox sprite dlcs and packs, not because I'll use them, but because I like supporting the developer.
I found an amazing mod that is basically ck2 vanilla expanded. It's called the prince and the thane. It's awesome.
Personally I prefer CK2+

Hey guys I need some advice,So im not really good at Crusader Kings 2 and one thing I would like to know is how you guys fight wars against nations that are equal or bigger to you.I tend to end up invading small nations because I have a hard time dealing with multiple enemy armies or hordes of them (Muslim Nations I tend to have the hardest time with). So what is your strategy if you were to get in a war with someone equal to you or bigger than you?

If it's Holy War, call for allies. It's also good to to make a lot of alliances with the big boys in order to make sure they back you up as much as possible in de jure and holy wars. If you don't have many strong allies you can also hire mercs and Holy Orders, provided you got the money to upkeep them.
For example, in the Holy War in which I took 47% of the Kingdom of Jerusalem I got attacked by a slightly weakened but still strong Sultanate of Egypt. Thanks to multiple wars and a Jihad against Ilkhanate only three Muslim nations plus some minor sheiks and emirs teamed up against me. Thankfully because of my previous marriages between Sweden, Hungary, France and Ireland and because it was a Holy War I achieved balance between the two factions and the war went well for a couple of years until suddenly Egypt started pulling doom stacks out of it's ass to counter my smaller armies, so I called in some 20000 mercenaries and all three Holy Orders to wreck the Muslims. Fast foward a decade and I got the Crown of Jerusalem.

here paradox have my money
Start date doesn't go as far back as 1399, kinda disappointed there, anyways the revamped trade system sounds promising and I can't wait. I'm curious what they changed about technology and westernization works though.
Alright, so I'm wondering how the succession laws will work out in my current game of Crusader Kings 2.
The current English king has died with only a daughter to carry on the bloodline, now I thought this was an excellent opportunity to nab England (I'm Castille) by betrothing one of my sons to her (she's 12, son's 13-14) however, I have two sons between me and the betrothed son (my heir's a shy craven, no less) which is why I'm asking you guys for help.
Specifically, should I start assassinating my older sons until the one betrothed to the English queen is my heir? Do English/Castillian succession laws imply that upon both of them becoming of-age and properly marrying that England will be mine, or will I just lose a son?

If he ascends to the throne, I believe he will be an independent king of another kingdom. Essentially, your dynasty becomes more powerful, but neither kingdom really does.
So yeah, killing the older sons should fix that. If he's heir to your kingdom, his own heir will be heir to Castille as well as England, and so in 2 generations, the kingdoms will be united.

England will become a part of your heir's son's realm if your heir gets married to the queen of England. If the son that is betrothed to the queen of England isn't a heir to your throne then the English ruling dynasty will just change to your's.
Oh God dammit, I was able to kill one of the sons without suspicion, but the other one died yet the assassin was caught. The penalties are pretty harsh as a Kinslayer, but nothing that won't actually destroy me until my son inherits the throne (unless you consider having vassals revolt every 2-3 years something that could destroy me.)

So I've looked around on province editing for some mods I've been thinking to develop and it seems my research has finally come to fruition.

Looks good so far. You are going to run this through to EU 3?
I was wondering why you never got around to updating the de Namur one. Did you get end up losing all your landed titles or something?
Looking good so far on this AAR btw
I finally finished my game as Italy in EU III!

I ran it through the converter mod and despite some issues with name tags, it's loads of fun to play through Victoria II anyway.

(Note: that Venice is NORMAL. It happened due to EUIII, when their capital defected to my Italy, they switched to the New World.)
All the other images, though, are due to the converter giving random names to nations that exist in EUIII but not Vicky II.

Thanks.
The de Namur one was messed up because the damn Kaiser, who was winning the war at around 70% victory status, decided a white peace was a good idea even though the rebels had no army left.
That essentially destroyed what would've been 2 or 3 good chapters. I tried to continue after that by pressing a claim on the Lower Lorraine, but I guess I read the requirements for it to become my vassal wrong or maybe it's because I was a duke. I thought it read that if the holder is in the current realm, especially if the person whose claim you're pressing is as well, then he/she becomes your vassal. Both were in the realm and she became an independent duke. Not really sure what happened, but this d'Ivrea one is turning out better so far, though Frankish in the HRE is definitely a better start. The next few parts to this AAR will be great, though.
I'll probably continue the de Namur one when I have more time, making Henri pissed that the Kaiser was too cowardly to continue the war, etc.

You can try making a more smoother and selective port by specifying what countries should become which in country_mappings and by editing some cores in EU3's input save file.

I think I'll keep this, it has a certain charm to it, and a lot of the issues were fixed after a few decades due to revolutions and countries forming where they should be.
Except Canada.
Canada spawned on the Italo-French border.

Trust me, sometimes the outcome is hideous, especially when porting from V2 to HoI3.
[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
Anyhow, does anyone think that I should start a Grand Kingdom of Croatia AAR on Paradox? Hungary and my Russian borderlands duchy are brushing against the fucking Golden Horde here, and even if I already went past a lot of interesting stuff(conquest of Sicily, Spanish Kingdoms, Greece and Jerusalem without a massive rebellion breaking out every death) I still got 150-ish years until EU3's start date.
I'm also thinking of extending it into the other games, with this serving to provide exposition regarding the entire state of affairs and as a springboard to get people hooked for the possible EU3 sequel.

If I understand you correctly, you were a duke, and you were pressing the claim of some other guy for a duchy, right? If that is so, then he couldn't have possibly become your vassal, because dukes can't be vassals of dukes, kings can't be vassals of kings, emperors can't be vassals of emperors, and counts cant be vassals of counts.
