This surprised me. Some weeks after Germany invaded Norway, the British retaliated with an invasion of their own. It was just a few provinces from where the Germans initially invaded from too.

So, new DH game, WW2 ends nearly the same way it did IRL. UK creates Isreal, Egypt is like fuck no, Egypt declares war on Isreal. Isreal is kicking Egypt's ass. Without British Back up. Isreal isn't allies with anyone.
I'm doing another Fuck-N-Watch, which is when you get powers to declare war on each-other and then you play as a neutral nation and gorge yourself on popcorn.
I started with Germany invading Poland in 1936, and then just biding its time. Italy joined immediately (they had diplomatic influence added to them by Germany). Albania, Austria and Hungary joined the Axis, and then they took their part in conquering Yugoslavia after Italy declared war on them.
Later, Germany managed to influence Finland, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania enough to force them into the Axis. Japan, after conquering Shanxi and began its war with Nationalist China, joined the axis. Japan then declared war on Guanxi Clique, who joined the allies just days earlier.
As the war raged in the pacific, Nationalist Spain conquered Republican Spain, and allied with Portugal. Eventually, both countries joined the Axis and helped Germany and Italy conquer France. When Vichy France was formed, the UK declared war on them, making them an Axis power. Turkey and Persia joined the axis after being attacked by the Soviet Union, and not only forced them farther inland, but almost conquered all of India and Saudi-Arabia (since Turkey declared war on them to attack Oman and Yemen).
After the middle-east is taken, a pile-driver of Axis forces assist Japan in pushing the British/Chinese coalition out of now Axis Siam and to the sea. The Soviet Union cannot handle the oncoming Japanese, German, Romanian and Finnish onslaught, and is forced to retreat to Moscow. Persian and Turkish forces surround the Russians near the Black Sea, and begin moving northwards.
Japan quickly conquers Mongolia and Tannu Tuva, and uses them as forward bases to push farther north into the Soviet Union. A swarm of Hungarian and Romanian infantry manage to surround the Soviet light-armor (who would have begun the counter-attacks at Stalin-Grad. As the light armor suffers heavily, German air-attacks demolish them, leaving a gap for Axis forces to march on Stalingrad. Unlike history, Stalingrad crumbles withing 2 or three weeks, and all European axis forces besiege Moscow.
After a month of harsh fighting in the east, Germany conquers all of the Soviet Union, and then begins its push back to the west. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and the Phillipines attempt to fight the Spanish by using Gibraltar as a landing point, but are mercilessly pushed back into Africa. The allied forces located in the Pacific barely manage to hold back the ridiculously massive armies of the Japanese. The United States fights the hardest in the European Front, due to the poorly sized armies of the British, but fail miserably, and pointlessly declare war on Brazil, making them an axis power.
It is now 1942, and the World may fall under the steel curtain of the Axis.

Wow. That was probably the best hands off i have had with DH. All started out normally, but for some reason, the Germans decided to puppet France. 1941 comes and Germany completely massacres the Russians, the Wonder weapon tech team decide to begin the nuclear weapon race first before USA. All of a sudden a massive naval fight happens between Germany Italy and Britain, the entire royal navy sinks and The Brits are forced back to their island. The Japanese sink 9 US battleships, 6 Carriers, and a whole lot of other shit. The Chinese front is frozen, the Americans launch a D day but lose almost 3 million soldiers and are forced off the coast, the US west navy sinks the German and Italian Naval forces and gets ready to launch a even bigger invasion, this time the Axis wont win if it manages to happen.
USA almost launches the attack but it was too late. Germany won the race for nuclear weapons, dropped a nuke on London and won the war. The British Empire collapsed, and America sued for white peace. Also over 15 million Chinese soldiers died fighting.
Germans killed over 30 million enemy soldiers?! Holy shit!
Gibraltar is lost, and Southern-Spain is a bombed-out wasteland, since the fighting has been so rough.
But in October 1942, a D-Day Styled invasion of Nothern France has been carried out by a coalition of American, Canadian, Irish and Mexican forces. They aren't doing very well.

I never got used to play Darkest Hour, moving back from the easily manageable armies of Hearts of Iron 3 to clusterfuck of Darkest Hour without clear chain of command units was simply too much for me.
Atleast I tried, while playing as Finland the Russia collapsed into gigantic civil war in 1937, and I took the opportunity of gaining new lands. Took St. Petersburg and bunch of provinces until the commies defeated most of the rebels and focused their forces against me. They didn't accept peace until they pushed me out of St.Petersburg.

How the fuck do I defeat Russia and Holland at the same time, the russians just send literally hundreds of divisions straight through gaps in the line to holland and while I'm defeating the russians in provinces one by one they just use more troops to retake the province I was just in, they even attack straggling divisions as they separate from my main group of divisions.
What saddist cunt designed the Russian AI?

To win against Russia you either have to use waaay more advanced tactics and equipment along with getting bigger numbers of troops, catch them off guard, create distractions...
...or, you know, not go to war with RUSSIA.

Oh :v: Well you can always try making a tighter defense, preferably around high level fortifications, then create background incursions over the Baltic Sea to distract some of the Russian doomstacks, break them up, and quickly wreck them here and there beforehand. Netherlands shouldn't be a problem as long as you can detach enough units to quickly shatter their military and occupy what little they got in Europe.
So I'm playing HoI3, just starting random wars for the hell of it. Germany and Italy destroy France together (and consequently start WWII, I even made them attack Poland without the Allies giving a shit). Then Vichy France appears. Then Vichy France joins the Allies.
