Great thing to use in EU3 is the nofog cheat since effects the AI, they'll try to colonize everything they can now see if they can.
There's a good chance the first husband died for some reason either through plotting or randomness and the AI being the needy bitches they are get married again while the corpse is still warm.
The AI take no consideration for this kind of shit so it's probably fair game to fix what they fucked.
Okay I edited my save now and it looks like everything is peachy. Thank you so much.
But what are the chances of both of them having the genius trait? I'm sure it was the same person I bethrothed her to...
I've had something like that happen to me before and it was DEFINITELY the same person. I'm not quite sure how it happened either since I was pretty sure it was a matrilineal marriage when I pressed accept. I guess you just have to be careful about these things.

How do you get that to work?
I've tried it but nothing happens.
Started as the Sultanate of Rum in the Alexiad starting time, after a hundred years I managed to usurp the Byzantine Empire and have my son installed as the Sultan of Persia gaining all of their land as my vassals, then I defended against a Crusade for Jerusalem and defeated the dirty infidels.
They have no chance against the Seljuk Khaganate.

Reminds me how at one point in my game one of the Emirs in Arabia somehow got control of the entire Ireland. Next thing you know ERE gets steamrolled and pushed all the way to Poland.

I just opened the console, typed 'event 11101 TAG' Replace TAG with the 3 letter country code you want to vanish, hit enter then select the first option when the window opens up
In Crusader Kings 1, does changing province power seem to actually do anything?
It seems useless to me.

Are you running AHD? Maybe it was fixed in that. I'm running vanilla Vic2 off Steam.

I've not played it in a while but they have hidden benefits, like if you have a Provence which is a different religion then you has a strong clergy power you have slightly more chance to get a conversion/religious event, the same with the other three and their events.

Try going to Steamapps\common\Victoria\Map folder and deleting the cache folder as well as going to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria II\Map and deleting the cache folder there as well.
Playing as a count in Spain and I'm making jackshit progress.
Civil wars always get crushed 98% of the time or the king has to fuck over everyone with high CA.
I came very close to warring a neighboring count for his county. But my dude had to die at the wrong time, so the war ended inconclusively and lost the claim as well.
Spain fucking sucks in CK2. It's interesting to play as from 1066 to explore what happens when family members contest for power, but it's a huge fucking mess of holy wars and title claimants.

Too late when you scroll back you'll already be Muslim.
Unrelated: Has anybody had any luck unifying Germany as Austria before ~1870? I've gotten around 1850, but that was with cheating. I'm thinking about sphering away a few of Prussia's minors to lower the Admit Hegemony score, but I think that'll give Prussia too much time to build up beyond what I can do.
-snip-
Well it looks like I need to stop two (more) sons from inheriting. Any suggestions?
Kill them, kill them all!
"event 242 {char_number}" forces them to kill themselves in battle, quite literally.
I ain't lookin' to cheat, though.
Do you have Gavelkind succession or something? Why?
Kill as many as you can, I'm not sure if you get a claim on their lands or not but you might be able to take them back even when you die. Plots are fine if you can get their Spymaster on your side but otherwise hiring Assasins with your Spymaster giving better odds is the best way to go even if it is costly.
No, it's just that my last son who I had barely paid attention to while planning my succession got my genius trait and some bitching base stats. I wanted to do plots, but even when I gave one his own county there were "No valid plots". The first one died via assassin.
If there are some that don't already have counties or whatever, give them a Bishopric. It'll exclude them from the line of succession and they get out of your way. If you have Free Investiture it's easy, find the oldest Bishop and appoint your son as his successor. If not, building one puts it in your Demesne and you can give it to them immediately. Either way takes a few years so hopefully you're not too old.
If you can work that out, it's a better option than assassinating them.
1st Crusade for Jerusalem failed (not surprisingly). Then the second came along half a century later, and the Crusaders managed to successfully establish the Kingdom of Jerusalem. It's holding off pretty well too.
And in Spain the last 2 Catholic kings made some serious progress in pushing the Mosloms back, yet briefly got destabilized in the wake of another civil war to curbstomp CA.
Well it looks like I need to stop two (more) sons from inheriting. Any suggestions?
Go Primo or Elector if you can. I'm starting to like Elector more now, it's easier to handpick good heirs.
I've never tried Elector. Obviously it has to be someone from your family for all the titles to carry on but does every title down to the last county have the same elected heir?
If you are for example a king of one kingdom which has electoral succession, and you also have some duchies and counties under that kingdom, then if the winner of the election is from your dynasty, he'll get every title you had. If you're worried about losing some titles in the election, then keep an eye out for the Icon which notifies you about a possibility to lose son of your titles upon succession.
