I was playing as one of the south Indian countries recently, slowly conquering everybody and uniting the Hindu world. Also driving those pesky Muslims out.
The Timurids have been constantly rebelling for about a century, with a bit of helpful funding from myself in there and are completely incapable of waging any real war. Yet the game has them automatically declare war the second their truces run out, and since they're nomadic and can't even be conquered (Treated like colonies) it's utterly impossible for me to expand west and border some real Muslim tech-group and begin the slow march towards Latin.
Just collapse for god's sake.
Indian Tech is only slightly less terrible than Native Americans which is a bit ridiculous to me.
Have a map of my current progress. The year's 1647, and my economy is currently collapsing in on itself.
Also I forgot to blank out the other countries so I had to do it in Paint, hence the half-assed job.

Every month there's 5-7 new rebels, it's ungodly. Rebels+Hordes=massive war exhaustion, which means I cant take over anything else :(

Did you accidentally marry into any german county / duchy / royalty?
So playing Darkest Hour as Italy, joined in the war on Germany's side. Quickly took out the Vichy France part with speed, transported my troops to Africa and kicking Britian's ass. Had a good empire going on until they invaded Italy and back parts of Africa and basically destroyed Italy with no resistance as my troops were held up in Africa.
Fucking AI who invade me when I'm caught up gives me the shits.
Also when I was Germany, couldn't take out France until Late 1942 and the Soviets invaded me from the East, I got raped and quit.

I'm sure there is a mod which fixes that.
there are ways to get around it, just find the character ID/demesne of whoever you want to play in your save file and then edit your "currently playing as" ID/demesne stored at the top of the save and that should do it
googling or checking their forums will probably give you a better explanation

I really need to get a HRE mod. In my game the Emperor keeps instituting High Crown Law and restricting the fuck out of everything we do, and for some reason all the lords support him.
Now I like to think I have a pretty good grasp of history, and that grasp of history tells me that would never have happened in the actual HRE.
Also, good luck ever seeing the Byzantine Empire get conquered by the Ottomans.

I've not tested it but I see on CK2 forum that staring the game from 1080AD sometimes helps solve the Byzantine constantly spunking purple all over the east.
